1 פַּלְגֵי־מַ֣יִם לֶב־מֶ֭לֶךְ [3] Dechi בְּיַד־יְהֹוָ֑ה [2] Etnachta יַטֶּֽנּוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
1 Streams of water is the heart of a king [3] in the hand of the LORD; [2] he directs it. [1] |

2 כׇּֽל־דֶּרֶךְ־אִ֭ישׁ [3] Dechi יָשָׁ֣ר בְּעֵינָ֑יו [2] Etnachta יְהֹוָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
2 Every way of a man [3] is right in his own eyes; [2] is the LORD. [1] |

3 עֲ֭שֹׂה [3] Dechi צְדָקָ֣ה וּמִשְׁפָּ֑ט [2] Etnachta מִזָּֽבַח׃ [1] Silluq |
3 To do [3] righteousness and justice; [2] more than sacrifice. [1] |

4 רוּם־עֵ֭ינַיִם [3] Dechi וּרְחַב־לֵ֑ב [2] Etnachta חַטָּֽאת׃ [1] Silluq |
4 Arrogant eyes [3] and a proud heart; [2] are sin. [1] |

5 מַחְשְׁב֣וֹת חָ֭רוּץ [3] Dechi אַךְ־לְמוֹתָ֑ר [2] Etnachta אַךְ־לְמַחְסֽוֹר׃ [1] Silluq |
5 The plans of the diligent [3] (lead) only to abundance; [2] only to want. [1] |

6 Getting treasures [3] by a lying tongue; [2] by those who seek death. [1] |

7 שֹׁד־רְשָׁעִ֥ים יְגוֹרֵ֑ם [2] Etnachta לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת מִשְׁפָּֽט׃ [1] Silluq |
7 The violence of the wicked will drag them away; [2] to do what is just. [1] |

8 הֲפַכְפַּ֬ךְ דֶּ֣רֶךְ אִ֣ישׁ [3] VDechi וָזָ֑ר [2] Etnachta יָשָׁ֥ר פׇּעֳלֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
8 Crooked is the way of the one [3] who is guilty; [2] upright is his conduct. [1] |

9 Good it is [3] to live in the corner of a housetop; [2] and a house of company. [1] |

10 The soul of the wicked, [3] it craves evil; [2] his neighbor. [1] |

11 בַּֽעֲנׇשׁ־לֵ֭ץ [3] Dechi יֶחְכַּם־פֶּ֑תִי [2] Etnachta יִקַּח־דָּֽעַת׃ [1] Silluq |
11 When a mocker is punished, [3] the simple gains wisdom; [2] he gains knowledge. [1] |

12 מַשְׂכִּ֣יל צַ֭דִּיק [3] Dechi לְבֵ֣ית רָשָׁ֑ע [2] Etnachta לָרָֽע׃ [1] Silluq |
12 The righteous one pays attention [3] to the house of the wicked; [2] to ruin. [1] |

13 אֹטֵ֣ם אׇ֭זְנוֹ [3] Dechi מִזַּעֲקַת־דָּ֑ל [2] Etnachta וְלֹ֣א יֵעָנֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
13 Whoever shuts his ears [3] from the cry of the poor; [2] and he will not be answered. [1] |

14 מַתָּ֣ן בַּ֭סֵּתֶר [3] Dechi יִכְפֶּה־אָ֑ף [2] Etnachta חֵמָ֥ה עַזָּֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
14 A gift in secret, [3] it pacifies anger; [2] strong wrath. [1] |

15 שִׂמְחָ֣ה לַ֭צַּדִּיק [3] Dechi עֲשׂ֣וֹת מִשְׁפָּ֑ט [2] Etnachta לְפֹ֣עֲלֵי אָֽוֶן׃ [1] Silluq |
15 It is a joy to the righteous [3] to do justice; [2] to the workers of iniquity. [1] |

16 A man [3] who wanders [3] from the path of understanding; [2] he shall rest. [1] |

17 אִ֣ישׁ מַ֭חְסוֹר [3] Dechi אֹהֵ֣ב שִׂמְחָ֑ה [2] Etnachta לֹ֣א יַעֲשִֽׁיר׃ [1] Silluq |
17 A poor man, [3] one who loves pleasure will be; [2] he will not gain riches. [1] |

18 כֹּ֣פֶר לַצַּדִּ֣יק [3] VDechi רָשָׁ֑ע [2] Etnachta בּוֹגֵֽד׃ [1] Silluq |
18 A ransom for the righteous [3] is the wicked; [2] the treacherous. [1] |

19 It is good [3] to dwell in a desert land; [2] and anger. [1] |

20 אוֹצָ֤ר ׀ נֶחְמָ֣ד וָ֭שֶׁמֶן [3] Dechi בִּנְוֵ֣ה חָכָ֑ם [2] Etnachta יְבַלְּעֶֽנּוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
20 Treasure of value and oil [3] are in the dwelling of the wise; [2] he swallows it up. [1] |

21 רֹ֭דֵף [3] Dechi צְדָקָ֣ה וָחָ֑סֶד [2] Etnachta צְדָקָ֥ה וְכָבֽוֹד׃ [1] Silluq |
21 One who pursues [3] righteousness and kindness; [2] righteousness and honor. [1] |

22 עִ֣יר גִּ֭בֹּרִים [3] Dechi עָלָ֣ה חָכָ֑ם [2] Etnachta עֹ֣ז מִבְטֶחָֽהֿ׃ [1] Silluq |
22 The city of the mighty, [3] a wise man scales; [2] the stronghold in which they trust. [1] |

23 Whoever guards his mouth [3] and his tongue; [2] his soul. [1] |

24 זֵ֣ד יָ֭הִיר [3] Dechi לֵ֣ץ שְׁמ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta בְּעֶבְרַ֥ת זָדֽוֹן׃ [1] Silluq |
24 Proud, arrogant, [3] “Scoffer” is his name; [2] in overbearing pride. [1] |

25 תַּאֲוַ֣ת עָצֵ֣ל [3] VDechi תְּמִיתֶ֑נּוּ [2] Etnachta לַעֲשֽׂוֹת׃ [1] Silluq |
25 The desire of a sluggard, [3] it kills him; [2] to work. [1] |

26 כׇּל־הַ֭יּוֹם [3] Dechi הִתְאַוָּ֣ה תַאֲוָ֑ה [2] Etnachta וְלֹ֣א יַחְשֹֽׂךְ׃ [1] Silluq |
26 All day long [3] he craves and craves; [2] without holding back. [1] |

29 A wicked man puts a bold look [3] on his face; [2] he, [4/2] he gives thought to his way. [1] |

30 No wisdom [3] and no understanding; [2] can stand against the LORD. [1] ¶ |
