1 נִבְחָ֣ר שֵׁ֭ם [3] Dechi
מֵעֹ֣שֶׁר רָ֑ב [2] Etnachta
 
מִכֶּ֥סֶף וּ֝מִזָּהָ֗ב [2] Revi'i Mugrash
חֵ֣ן טֽוֹב׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 1 A name is to be chosen [3]
rather than great wealth; [2]
 
better than silver and better than gold [2]
is good favor. [1]
2 עָשִׁ֣יר וָרָ֣שׁ [3] VDechi
נִפְגָּ֑שׁוּ [2] Etnachta
 
עֹשֵׂ֖ה כֻלָּ֣ם [2] VRevMug
יְהֹוָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 The rich and the poor, [3]
they have this in common; [2]
 
the maker of them all [2]
is the LORD. [1]
3 עָר֤וּם ׀ [4] Mahpakh Legarmeh
רָאָ֣ה רָעָ֣ה [3] VDechi
*ויסתר **וְנִסְתָּ֑ר [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝פְתָיִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עָבְר֥וּ וְֽנֶעֱנָֽשׁוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 2 3 The prudent, [4]
he sees danger [3]
and he hides himself; [2]
 
but the simple, [2]
they keep going and they suffer for it. [1]
4 עֵ֣קֶב עֲ֭נָוָה [3] Dechi
יִרְאַ֣ת יְהֹוָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
עֹ֖שֶׁר וְכָב֣וֹד [2] VRevMug
וְחַיִּֽים׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 4 The result of humility, [3]
the fear of the LORD; [2]
 
is wealth and honor [2]
and life. [1]
5 צִנִּ֣ים פַּ֭חִים [3] Dechi
בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ עִקֵּ֑שׁ [2] Etnachta
 
שׁוֹמֵ֥ר נַ֝פְשׁ֗וֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יִרְחַ֥ק מֵהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 5 Thorns, snares [3]
are in the path of the perverse; [2]
 
whoever guards his soul, [2]
he will stay far from them. [1]
6 חֲנֹ֣ךְ לַ֭נַּעַר [3] Dechi
עַל־פִּ֣י דַרְכּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
גַּ֥ם כִּי־יַ֝זְקִ֗ין [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹֽא־יָס֥וּר מִמֶּֽנָּה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 6 Train up a child [3]
at the beginning of his path; [2]
 
and when he is old [2]
he will not depart from it. [1]
7 עָ֭שִׁיר [3] Dechi
בְּרָשִׁ֣ים יִמְשׁ֑וֹל [2] Etnachta
 
וְעֶ֥בֶד לֹ֝וֶ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לְאִ֣ישׁ מַלְוֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 7 The rich, [3]
he rules over the poor; [2]
 
and the borrower is a servant [2]
of the lender. [1]
8 זוֹרֵ֣עַ עַ֭וְלָה [3] Dechi
*יקצור **יִקְצׇר־אָ֑וֶן [2] Etnachta
 
וְשֵׁ֖בֶט עֶבְרָת֣וֹ [2] VRevMug
יִכְלֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 8 Whoever sows injustice, [3]
he will reap trouble; [2]
 
and the rod of his anger [2]
will be broken. [1]
9 טֽוֹב־עַ֭יִן [3] Dechi
ה֣וּא יְבֹרָ֑ךְ [2] Etnachta
 
כִּֽי־נָתַ֖ן מִלַּחְמ֣וֹ [2] VRevMug
לַדָּֽל׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 9 One who has a generous eye, [3]
he, he will be blessed; [2]
 
for he shares his bread [2]
with the poor. [1]
10 גָּ֣רֵֽשׁ לֵ֭ץ [3] Dechi
וְיֵצֵ֣א מָד֑וֹן [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝יִשְׁבֹּ֗ת [2] Revi'i Mugrash
דִּ֣ין וְקָלֽוֹן׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 10 Drive out a scoffer, [3]
and strife will go out; [2]
 
and it will cease, [2]
quarreling and insults. [1]
11 אֹהֵ֥ב *טהור **טְהׇר־לֵ֑ב [2] Etnachta
 
חֵ֥ן שְׂ֝פָתָ֗יו [2] Revi'i Mugrash
רֵעֵ֥הוּ מֶֽלֶךְ׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 11 One who loves purity of heart; [2]
 
gracious are his lips, [2]
a king is his friend. [1]
12 עֵינֵ֣י יְ֭הֹוָה [3] Dechi
נָ֣צְרוּ דָ֑עַת [2] Etnachta
 
וַ֝יְסַלֵּ֗ף [2] Revi'i Mugrash
דִּבְרֵ֥י בֹגֵֽד׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 12 The eyes of the LORD, [3]
they guard knowledge; [2]
 
but he overthrows [2]
the words of the faithless. [1]
13 אָמַ֣ר עָ֭צֵל [3] Dechi
אֲרִ֣י בַח֑וּץ [2] Etnachta
 
בְּת֥וֹךְ רְ֝חֹב֗וֹת [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אֵרָצֵֽחַ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 13 The sluggard says, [3]
“There is a lion outside! [2]
 
In the streets [2]
I will be killed!” [1]
14 שׁוּחָ֣ה עֲ֭מֻקָּה [3] Dechi
פִּ֣י זָר֑וֹת [2] Etnachta
 
זְע֥וּם יְ֝הֹוָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
*יפול **יִפׇּל־שָֽׁם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 14 A deep pit [3]
is the mouth of an adulteress; [2]
 
one who make the LORD angry, [2]
he will fall there. [1]
15 אִ֭וֶּלֶת [3] Dechi
קְשׁוּרָ֣ה בְלֶב־נָ֑עַר [2] Etnachta
 
שֵׁ֥בֶט מ֝וּסָ֗ר [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יַרְחִיקֶ֥נָּה מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 15 Foolishness [3]
is bound up in the heart of a child; [2]
 
a rod of discipline, [2]
it will drive it far from him. [1]
16 עֹ֣שֵֽׁק דָּ֭ל [3] Dechi
לְהַרְבּ֣וֹת ל֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
נֹתֵ֥ן לְ֝עָשִׁ֗יר [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אַךְ־לְמַחְסֽוֹר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 16 Whoever oppresses the poor [3]
for his own increase; [2]
 
who gives to the rich, [2]
comes only to poverty. [1]
17 הַ֥ט אׇזְנְךָ֗ [3] Revi'i
וּ֭שְׁמַע [3] Dechi
דִּבְרֵ֣י חֲכָמִ֑ים [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝לִבְּךָ֗ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
תָּשִׁ֥ית לְדַעְתִּֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 3 2 17 Incline your ear [3]
and hear [3]
the words of the wise; [2]
 
and your heart, [2]
apply to my knowledge. [1]
18 כִּֽי־נָ֭עִים [3] Dechi
כִּֽי־תִשְׁמְרֵ֣ם בְּבִטְנֶ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta
 
יִכֹּ֥נוּ יַ֝חְדָּ֗ו [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עַל־שְׂפָתֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 18 For it is pleasing [3]
if you keep them within you; [2]
 
all of them ready [2]
on your lips. [1]
19 לִֽהְי֣וֹת בַּ֭יהֹוָה [3] Dechi
מִבְטַחֶ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta
 
הוֹדַעְתִּ֖יךָ הַיּ֣וֹם [2] VRevMug
אַף־אָֽתָּה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 19 That in the LORD may be [3]
your trust; [2]
 
I have made known to you this day, [2]
even you. [1]
20 הֲלֹ֤א כָתַ֣בְתִּֽי לְ֭ךָ [3] Dechi
*שלשום **שָׁלִשִׁ֑ים [2] Etnachta
 
בְּמֹ֖עֵצ֣וֹת [2] VRevMug
וָדָֽעַת׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 20 Have I not written for you [3]
thirty sayings; [2]
 
of counsel [2]
and knowledge, [1]
21 לְהוֹדִֽיעֲךָ֗ [3] Revi'i
קֹ֭שְׁטְ [3] Dechi
אִמְרֵ֣י אֱמֶ֑ת [2] Etnachta
 
לְהָשִׁ֥יב אֲמָרִ֥ים אֱ֝מֶ֗ת [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לְשֹׁלְחֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 3 2 21 to make known to you [3]
the truth [3]
of reliable words; [2]
 
to bring back reliable words [2]
to those who sent you? [1]
22 אַֽל־תִּגְזׇל־דָּ֭ל [3] Dechi
כִּ֣י דַל־ה֑וּא [2] Etnachta
 
וְאַל־תְּדַכֵּ֖א עָנִ֣י [2] VRevMug
בַשָּֽׁעַר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 22 Do not rob the poor, [3]
because he is poor; [2]
 
and do not crush the needy [2]
at the gate, [1]
23 כִּֽי־יְ֭הֹוָה [3] Dechi
יָרִ֣יב רִיבָ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
וְקָבַ֖ע אֶת־קֹבְעֵיהֶ֣ם [2] VRevMug
נָֽפֶשׁ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 23 for the LORD, [3]
he will plead their case; [2]
 
and he will rob those who rob them, [2]
of life. [1]
24 אַל־תִּ֭תְרַע [3] Dechi
אֶת־בַּ֣עַל אָ֑ף [2] Etnachta
 
וְאֶת־אִ֥ישׁ חֵ֝מ֗וֹת [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹ֣א תָבֽוֹא׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 24 Do not be friends [3]
with one given to anger; [2]
 
and with a wrathful person [2]
you must not go, [1]
25 פֶּן־תֶּאֱלַ֥ף אֹרְחֹתָ֑ו [2] Etnachta
 
וְלָקַחְתָּ֖ מוֹקֵ֣שׁ [2] VRevMug
לְנַפְשֶֽׁךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 25 lest you learn his ways; [2]
 
and take on a snare [2]
to your soul. [1]
26 אַל־תְּהִ֥י בְתֹֽקְעֵי־כָ֑ף [2] Etnachta
 
בַּ֝עֹרְבִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מַשָּׁאֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 26 Don’t be among those who shake hands; [2]
 
among those who are collateral for [2]
debts. [1]
27 אִם־אֵֽין־לְךָ֥ לְשַׁלֵּ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
לָ֥מָּה יִקַּ֥ח מִ֝שְׁכָּבְךָ֗ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מִתַּחְתֶּֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 27 If you have nothing to pay; [2]
 
why should your bed be taken [2]
from under you? [1]
28 אַל־תַּ֭סֵּג [3] Dechi
גְּב֣וּל עוֹלָ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
אֲשֶׁ֖ר עָשׂ֣וּ [2] VRevMug
אֲבוֹתֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 28 Do not move [3]
an ancient boundary stone; [2]
 
which they set up, [2]
your fathers. [1]
29 חָזִ֡יתָ [4] Pazer
אִ֤ישׁ ׀ [4] Mahpakh Legarmeh
מָ֘הִ֤יר בִּמְלַאכְתּ֗וֹ [3] Revi'i
לִֽפְנֵי־מְלָכִ֥ים יִתְיַצָּ֑ב [2] Etnachta
 
בַּל־יִ֝תְיַצֵּ֗ב [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לִפְנֵ֥י חֲשֻׁכִּֽים׃ [1] Silluq
