1 נָ֣סוּ וְאֵין־רֹדֵ֣ף [3] VDechi
רָשָׁ֑ע [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝צַדִּיקִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כִּכְפִ֥יר יִבְטָֽח׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 1 They flee when no one is pursuing, [3]
the wicked; [2]
 
but the righteous [2]
are as bold as a lion. [1]
2 בְּפֶ֣שַֽׁע אֶ֭רֶץ [3] Dechi
רַבִּ֣ים שָׂרֶ֑יהָ [2] Etnachta
 
וּבְאָדָ֥ם מֵבִ֥ין יֹ֝דֵ֗עַ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כֵּ֣ן יַאֲרִֽיךְ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 By the rebellion of a land [3]
many are its rulers; [2]
 
but by a man of understanding and knowledge, [2]
it will endure. [1]
3 גֶּֽבֶר־רָ֭שׁ [3] Dechi
וְעֹשֵׁ֣ק דַּלִּ֑ים [2] Etnachta
 
מָטָ֥ר סֹ֝חֵ֗ף [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וְאֵ֣ין לָֽחֶם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 A needy man [3]
who oppresses the poor; [2]
 
is like a driving rain [2]
which leaves no food. [1]
4 עֹזְבֵ֣י ת֭וֹרָה [3] Dechi
יְהַלְל֣וּ רָשָׁ֑ע [2] Etnachta
 
וְשֹׁמְרֵ֥י ת֝וֹרָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יִתְגָּ֥רוּ בָֽם׃ [1] Silluq

2 3 2 4 Those who forsake the Torah, [3]
they praise the wicked; [2]
 
but those who keep the Torah, [2]
they contend with them. [1]
5 אַנְשֵׁי־רָ֭ע [3] Dechi
לֹא־יָבִ֣ינוּ מִשְׁפָּ֑ט [2] Etnachta
 
וּמְבַקְשֵׁ֥י יְ֝הֹוָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יָבִ֥ינוּ כֹֽל׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 5 Evil men, [3]
they don’t understand justice; [2]
 
but those who seek the LORD, [2]
they understand it all. [1]
6 טֽוֹב־רָ֭שׁ [3] Dechi
הוֹלֵ֣ךְ בְּתֻמּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
מֵעִקֵּ֥שׁ דְּ֝רָכַ֗יִם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וְה֣וּא עָשִֽׁיר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 6 Better is the poor [3]
who walks in his integrity; [2]
 
than the one who is perverse in his ways, [2]
and he is rich. [1]
7 נוֹצֵ֣ר תּ֭וֹרָה [3] Dechi
בֵּ֣ן מֵבִ֑ין [2] Etnachta
 
וְרֹעֶ֥ה ז֝וֹלְלִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יַכְלִ֥ים אָבִֽיו׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 7 One who keeps the Torah [3]
is a son with understanding; [2]
 
but a companion of gluttons, [2]
he shames his father. [1]
8 מַרְבֶּ֣ה ה֭וֹנוֹ [3] Dechi
בְּנֶ֣שֶׁךְ *ובתרבית **וְתַרְבִּ֑ית [2] Etnachta
 
לְחוֹנֵ֖ן דַּלִּ֣ים [2] VRevMug
יִקְבְּצֶֽנּוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 8 One who increases his wealth [3]
by excessive interest; [2]
 
for one who is kind to the poor, [2]
he gathers it. [1]
9 מֵסִ֣יר אׇ֭זְנוֹ [3] Dechi
מִשְּׁמֹ֣עַ תּוֹרָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
גַּ֥ם תְּ֝פִלָּת֗וֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
תּוֹעֵבָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 9 One who turns away his ear [3]
from hearing the Torah; [2]
 
even his prayer [2]
is an abomination. [1]
10 מַשְׁגֶּ֤ה יְשָׁרִ֨ים ׀ [4] Azla Legarmeh
בְּדֶ֥רֶךְ רָ֗ע [3] Revi'i
בִּשְׁחוּת֥וֹ הֽוּא־יִפּ֑וֹל [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝תְמִימִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יִנְחֲלוּ־טֽוֹב׃ [1] Silluq

2 3 4 2 10 One who leads astray the upright [4]
in an evil way, [3]
into his own pit he, he will fall; [2]
 
but the blameless, [2]
they will inherit good. [1]
11 חָכָ֣ם בְּ֭עֵינָיו [3] Dechi
אִ֣ישׁ עָשִׁ֑יר [2] Etnachta
 
וְדַ֖ל מֵבִ֣ין [2] VRevMug
יַחְקְרֶֽנּוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 11 Wise in his own eyes [3]
is a rich person; [2]
 
but the poor who has understanding [2]
sees through him. [1]
12 בַּעֲלֹ֣ץ צַ֭דִּיקִים [3] Dechi
רַבָּ֣ה תִפְאָ֑רֶת [2] Etnachta
 
וּבְק֥וּם רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יְחֻפַּ֥שׂ אָדָֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 12 When the righteous triumph [3]
there is great glory; [2]
 
but when the wicked rise, [2]
people hide themselves. [1]
13 מְכַסֶּ֣ה פְ֭שָׁעָיו [3] Dechi
לֹ֣א יַצְלִ֑יחַ [2] Etnachta
 
וּמוֹדֶ֖ה וְעֹזֵ֣ב [2] VRevMug
יְרֻחָֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 13 One who conceals his sins, [3]
he will not prosper; [2]
 
but one who confesses and forsakes them, [2]
he will find mercy. [1]
14 אַשְׁרֵ֣י אָ֭דָם [3] Dechi
מְפַחֵ֣ד תָּמִ֑יד [2] Etnachta
 
וּמַקְשֶׁ֥ה לִ֝בּ֗וֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יִפּ֥וֹל בְּרָעָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 14 How blessed is one [3]
who always fears; [2]
 
but one who hardens his heart, [2]
he will fall into trouble. [1]
15 אֲֽרִי־נֹ֭הֵם [3] Dechi
וְדֹ֣ב שׁוֹקֵ֑ק [2] Etnachta
 
מוֹשֵׁ֥ל רָ֝שָׁ֗ע [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עַ֣ל עַם־דָּֽל׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 15 Like a roaring lion [3]
or a charging bear; [2]
 
is a wicked ruler [2]
over helpless people. [1]
16 נָגִ֗יד [3] Revi'i
חֲסַ֣ר תְּ֭בוּנוֹת [3] Dechi
וְרַ֥ב מַעֲשַׁקּ֑וֹת [2] Etnachta
 
*שנאי **שֹׂ֥נֵא בֶ֝֗צַע [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יַאֲרִ֥יךְ יָמִֽים׃ [1] Silluq

who lacks understanding [3]
is also a great oppressor. [2]
 
One who hates unjust gain, [2]
he will prolong his days. [1]
17 אָ֭דָם [3] Dechi
עָשֻׁ֣ק בְּדַם־נָ֑פֶשׁ [2] Etnachta
 
עַד־בּ֥וֹר יָ֝נ֗וּס [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אַל־יִתְמְכוּ־בֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 17 A man [3]
burdened by a person's blood; [2]
 
to the pit he will flee, [2]
let no one support him. [1]
18 הוֹלֵ֣ךְ תָּ֭מִים [3] Dechi
יִוָּשֵׁ֑עַ [2] Etnachta
 
וְנֶעְקַ֥שׁ דְּ֝רָכַ֗יִם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יִפּ֥וֹל בְּאֶחָֽת׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 18 One who walks blamelessly, [3]
he will be delivered; [2]
 
but one with perverse ways, [2]
he will fall suddenly. [1]
19 עֹבֵ֣ד אַ֭דְמָתוֹ [3] Dechi
יִֽשְׂבַּֽע־לָ֑חֶם [2] Etnachta
 
וּמְרַדֵּ֥ף רֵ֝יקִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יִֽשְׂבַּֽע־רִֽישׁ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 19 One who works his land, [3]
he will be satisfied with food; [2]
 
but one who pursues worthless things [2]
will have his fill of poverty. [1]
20 אִ֣ישׁ אֱ֭מוּנוֹת [3] Dechi
רַב־בְּרָכ֑וֹת [2] Etnachta
 
וְאָ֥ץ לְ֝הַעֲשִׁ֗יר [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹ֣א יִנָּקֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 20 A faithful man [3]
will abound with blessings; [2]
 
but one who hastens to be rich, [2]
he will not go unpunished. [1]
21 הַֽכֵּר־פָּנִ֥ים לֹא־ט֑וֹב [2] Etnachta
 
וְעַל־פַּת־לֶ֝֗חֶם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יִפְשַׁע־גָּֽבֶר׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 21 To show partiality is not good; [2]
 
yet for a piece of bread [2]
a man will do wrong. [1]
22 נִ֥בְהָֽל לַה֗וֹן [3] Revi'i
אִ֭ישׁ [3] Dechi
רַ֣ע עָ֑יִן [2] Etnachta
 
וְלֹא־יֵ֝דַ֗ע [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כִּי־חֶ֥סֶר יְבֹאֶֽנּוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 3 2 22 Hastening to wealth [3]
is a person [3]
of evil eye; [2]
 
but he doesn’t know [2]
that poverty will come to him. [1]
23 מ֘וֹכִ֤יחַ אָדָ֣ם אַ֭חֲרַי [3] Dechi
חֵ֣ן יִמְצָ֑א [2] Etnachta
 
מִֽמַּחֲלִ֥יק לָשֽׁוֹן׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 23 One who rebukes a man, afterwards [3]
he will find favor; [2]
 
more than one who flatters with the tongue. [1]
24 גּוֹזֵ֤ל ׀ [4] Mahpakh Legarmeh
אָ֘בִ֤יו וְאִמּ֗וֹ [3] Revi'i
וְאֹמֵ֥ר אֵֽין־פָּ֑שַׁע [2] Etnachta
 
חָבֵ֥ר ה֝֗וּא [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לְאִ֣ישׁ מַשְׁחִֽית׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 2 24 One who robs [4]
his father or his mother [3]
and says, “It’s not wrong,” [2]
 
he is a partner [2]
to a destroyer. [1]
25 רְחַב־נֶ֭פֶשׁ [3] Dechi
יְגָרֶ֣ה מָד֑וֹן [2] Etnachta
 
וּבֹטֵ֖חַ עַל־יְהֹוָ֣ה [2] VRevMug
יְדֻשָּֽׁן׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 25 One with a proud soul, [3]
he stirs up strife; [2]
 
but one who trusts in the LORD, [2]
he will prosper. [1]
26 בּוֹטֵ֣חַ בְּ֭לִבּוֹ [3] Dechi
ה֣וּא כְסִ֑יל [2] Etnachta
 
וְהוֹלֵ֥ךְ בְּ֝חׇכְמָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
ה֣וּא יִמָּלֵֽט׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 26 One who trusts in his own heart, [3]
he is a fool; [2]
 
but one who walks in wisdom, [2]
he, he will be delivered. [1]
27 נוֹתֵ֣ן לָ֭רָשׁ [3] Dechi
אֵ֣ין מַחְס֑וֹר [2] Etnachta
 
וּמַעְלִ֥ים עֵ֝ינָ֗יו [2] Revi'i Mugrash
רַב־מְאֵרֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 27 One who gives to the poor [3]
has no lack; [2]
 
but one who hides his eyes [2]
will have many curses. [1]
28 בְּק֣וּם רְ֭שָׁעִים [3] Dechi
יִסָּתֵ֣ר אָדָ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝בְאׇבְדָ֗ם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יִרְבּ֥וּ צַדִּיקִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 28 When the wicked rise, [3]
men hide themselves; [2]
 
but when they perish, [2]
the righteous increase. [1]
