1 אִ֣ישׁ תּ֭וֹכָחוֹת [3] Dechi מַקְשֶׁה־עֹ֑רֶף [2] Etnachta וְאֵ֣ין מַרְפֵּֽא׃ [1] Silluq |
1 He who is often reproved [3] yet stiffens his neck; [2] and with no remedy. [1] |

2 בִּרְב֣וֹת צַ֭דִּיקִים [3] Dechi יִשְׂמַ֣ח הָעָ֑ם [2] Etnachta יֵאָ֥נַֽח עָֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
2 When the righteous increase, [3] the people rejoice; [2] the people groan. [1] |

3 אִישׁ־אֹהֵ֣ב חׇ֭כְמָה [3] Dechi יְשַׂמַּ֣ח אָבִ֑יו [2] Etnachta יְאַבֶּד־הֽוֹן׃ [1] Silluq |
3 A person who loves wisdom, [3] he brings joy to his father; [2] he squanders wealth. [1] |

4 מֶ֗לֶךְ [3] Revi'i בְּ֭מִשְׁפָּט [3] Dechi יַעֲמִ֣יד אָ֑רֶץ [2] Etnachta יֶהֶרְסֶֽנָּה׃ [1] Silluq |
4 A king, [3] by justice [3] he establishes a land; [2] he tears it down. [1] |

5 גֶּ֭בֶר [3] Dechi מַחֲלִ֣יק עַל־רֵעֵ֑הוּ [2] Etnachta פּוֹרֵ֥שׂ עַל־פְּעָמָֽיו׃ [1] Silluq |
5 A man [3] who flatters his neighbor; [2] is spreading for his feet. [1] |

6 בְּפֶ֤שַֽׁע אִ֣ישׁ רָ֣ע [3] VDechi מוֹקֵ֑שׁ [2] Etnachta יָר֥וּן וְשָׂמֵֽחַ׃ [1] Silluq |
6 In the transgression of an evil person [3] is a snare; [2] he sings and he rejoices. [1] |

7 יֹדֵ֣עַ צַ֭דִּיק [3] Dechi דִּ֣ין דַּלִּ֑ים [2] Etnachta לֹא־יָבִ֥ין דָּֽעַת׃ [1] Silluq |
7 The righteous knows [3] the needs of the poor; [2] doesn't understand such knowledge. [1] |

8 אַנְשֵׁ֣י לָ֭צוֹן [3] Dechi יָפִ֣יחוּ קִרְיָ֑ה [2] Etnachta יָשִׁ֥יבוּ אָֽף׃ [1] Silluq |
8 Mockers, [3] they stir up a city; [2] they turn away anger. [1] |

9 אִֽישׁ־חָכָ֗ם [3] Revi'i נִ֭שְׁפָּט [3] Dechi אֶת־אִ֣ישׁ אֱוִ֑יל [2] Etnachta וְאֵ֣ין נָֽחַת׃ [1] Silluq |
9 If a wise man [3] goes to court [3] with a foolish man; [2] and there is no rest. [1] |

10 אַנְשֵׁ֣י דָ֭מִים [3] Dechi יִשְׂנְאוּ־תָ֑ם [2] Etnachta יְבַקְשׁ֥וּ נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
10 Bloodthirsty people, [3] they hate a man of integrity; [2] they seek his soul. [1] |

11 כׇּל־ר֭וּחוֹ [3] Dechi יוֹצִ֣יא כְסִ֑יל [2] Etnachta בְּאָח֥וֹר יְשַׁבְּחֶֽנָּה׃ [1] Silluq |
11 All his spirit [3] a fool brings forth; [2] holds it back. [1] |

12 מֹ֭שֵׁל [3] Dechi מַקְשִׁ֣יב עַל־דְּבַר־שָׁ֑קֶר [2] Etnachta |
12 If a ruler [3] listens to lies; [2] |

13 רָ֤שׁ וְאִ֣ישׁ תְּכָכִ֣ים [3] VDechi נִפְגָּ֑שׁוּ [2] Etnachta יְהֹוָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
13 The poor man and the oppressor, [3] they have this in common; [2] the LORD. [1] |

14 מֶ֤לֶךְ שׁוֹפֵ֣ט בֶּאֱמֶ֣ת [3] VDechi דַּלִּ֑ים [2] Etnachta לָעַ֥ד יִכּֽוֹן׃ [1] Silluq |
14 The king who fairly judges [3] the poor; [2] shall forever be established. [1] |

15 שֵׁ֣בֶט וְ֭תוֹכַחַת [3] Dechi יִתֵּ֣ן חׇכְמָ֑ה [2] Etnachta מֵבִ֥ישׁ אִמּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
15 A rod and reproof, [3] it gives wisdom; [2] disgraces his mother. [1] |

16 בִּרְב֣וֹת רְ֭שָׁעִים [3] Dechi יִרְבֶּה־פָּ֑שַׁע [2] Etnachta בְּֽמַפַּלְתָּ֥ם יִרְאֽוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
16 When the wicked increase, [3] transgression increases; [2] they will see their downfall. [1] |

17 יַסֵּ֣ר בִּ֭נְךָ [3] Dechi וִינִיחֶ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta לְנַפְשֶֽׁךָ׃ [1] Silluq פ |
17 Discipline your son, [3] and he will give you rest; [2] to your soul. [1] ¶ |

18 בְּאֵ֣ין חָ֭זוֹן [3] Dechi יִפָּ֣רַֽע עָ֑ם [2] Etnachta אַשְׁרֵֽהוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
18 When there is no revelation, [3] the people cast off restraint; [2] how blessed is he. [1] |

19 בִּ֭דְבָרִים [3] Dechi לֹא־יִוָּ֣סֶר עָ֑בֶד [2] Etnachta וְאֵ֣ין מַעֲנֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
19 By words [3] a servant won’t let himself be instructed; [2] but not answer. [1] |

20 חָזִ֗יתָ [3] Revi'i אִ֭ישׁ [3] Dechi אָ֣ץ בִּדְבָרָ֑יו [2] Etnachta מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
20 Do you see [3] someone [3] who is hasty in his words? [2] than for him. [1] |

21 מְפַנֵּ֣ק מִנֹּ֣עַר [3] VDechi עַבְדּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta יִהְיֶ֥ה מָנֽוֹן׃ [1] Silluq |
21 If someone pampers from childhood [3] his slave; [2] it will be trouble. [1] |

22 אִֽישׁ־אַ֭ף [3] Dechi יְגָרֶ֣ה מָד֑וֹן [2] Etnachta רַב־פָּֽשַׁע׃ [1] Silluq |
22 An angry person, [3] he stirs up strife; [2] abounds in transgression. [1] |
|||
23 גַּאֲוַ֣ת אָ֭דָם [3] Dechi תַּשְׁפִּילֶ֑נּוּ [2] Etnachta יִתְמֹ֥ךְ כָּבֽוֹד׃ [1] Silluq |
23 A man’s pride, [3] it will bring him low; [2] he will gain honor. [1] |

24 חוֹלֵ֣ק עִם־גַּ֭נָּב [3] Dechi שׂוֹנֵ֣א נַפְשׁ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta וְלֹ֣א יַגִּֽיד׃ [1] Silluq |
24 Whoever is partner with a thief [3] is an enemy of his own soul; [2] but he discloses nothing. [1] |

25 חֶרְדַּ֣ת אָ֭דָם [3] Dechi יִתֵּ֣ן מוֹקֵ֑שׁ [2] Etnachta יְשֻׂגָּֽב׃ [1] Silluq |
25 Fear of man [3] will prove to be a snare; [2] he will be kept safe. [1] |

26 רַ֭בִּים [3] Dechi מְבַקְשִׁ֣ים פְּנֵֽי־מוֹשֵׁ֑ל [2] Etnachta מִשְׁפַּט־אִֽישׁ׃ [1] Silluq |
26 Many [3] seek the face of a ruler; [2] is a man's justice. [1] |

27 An abomination to the righteous [3] is an unjust man; [2] is the upright of way. [1] ¶ |
