that I may glean among the ears of grain, [2]

anyone in whom I may find favor [2]
in his eyes.” [1]

“Go, my daughter.” [1]

וַיִּ֣קֶר מִקְרֶ֔הָ [2] Zaqef
 
חֶלְקַ֤ת הַשָּׂדֶה֙ [3] Pashta

מִמִּשְׁפַּ֥חַת אֱלִימֶֽלֶךְ׃ [1] Silluq

וַיֹּ֥אמְרוּ ל֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
יְבָרֶכְךָ֥ יְהֹוָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

from Bethlehem, [2]
 
and he said to the reapers, [2]
“May the LORD be with you.” [1]
 
And they answered him, [2]
“May the LORD bless you.” [1]

לְֽנַעֲר֔וֹ [2] Zaqef

עַל־הַקּוֹצְרִ֑ים [1] Etnachta

הַנַּעֲרָ֥ה הַזֹּֽאת׃ [1] Silluq

over the reapers; [1]
 
“To whom is [2]
this young woman?” [1]
6 וַיַּ֗עַן [3] Revi'i
הַנַּ֛עַר [3] Tevir
הַנִּצָּ֥ב עַל־הַקּוֹצְרִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
וַיֹּאמַ֑ר [1] Etnachta
 
נַעֲרָ֤ה מֽוֹאֲבִיָּה֙ [3] Pashta
הִ֔יא [2] Zaqef
 
הַשָּׁ֥בָה עִֽם־נׇעֳמִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
מִשְּׂדֵ֥י מוֹאָֽב׃ [1] Silluq

the servant [3]
who was appointed over the reapers, [2]
and he said; [1]
 
“A Moabite young woman [3]
she is, [2]
 
who returned with Naomi [2]
from the country of Moab. [1]
7 וַתֹּ֗אמֶר [3] Revi'i
אֲלַקֳּטָה־נָּא֙ [3] Pashta
וְאָסַפְתִּ֣י בָעֳמָרִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
אַחֲרֵ֖י [2] Tip'cha
הַקּוֹצְרִ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
וַתָּב֣וֹא וַֽתַּעֲמ֗וֹד [3] Revi'i
מֵאָ֤ז הַבֹּ֙קֶר֙ [3 3] Pashta
וְעַד־עַ֔תָּה [2] Zaqef
 
זֶ֛ה [3] Tevir
שִׁבְתָּ֥הּ הַבַּ֖יִת [2] Tip'cha
מְעָֽט׃ [1] Silluq

‘Please let me glean [3]
and I will gather among the sheaves [2]
 
after [2]
the reapers.’ [1]
 
So she came, and she has continued [3]
from this morning [3 3]
until now, [2]
 
except that [3]
she rested in the house [2]
a little.” [1]
8 וַיֹּ֩אמֶר֩ בֹּ֨עַז אֶל־ר֜וּת [4] Geresh
הֲל֧וֹא שָׁמַ֣עַתְּ בִּתִּ֗י [3] Revi'i
 
אַל־תֵּֽלְכִי֙ [3] Pashta
לִלְקֹט֙ [3] Pashta
בְּשָׂדֶ֣ה אַחֵ֔ר [2] Zaqef
 
וְגַ֛ם [3] Tevir
לֹ֥א תַעֲבוּרִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
מִזֶּ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וְכֹ֥ה תִדְבָּקִ֖ין [2] Tip'cha
עִם־נַעֲרֹתָֽי׃ [1] Silluq

to glean [3]

and when you are thirsty, [3]

from that which they have drawn, [2]

וַתֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלָ֗יו [3] Revi'i
מַדּ֩וּעַ֩ מָצָ֨אתִי חֵ֤ן בְּעֵינֶ֙יךָ֙ [3 3] Pashta
לְהַכִּירֵ֔נִי [2] Zaqef
 
וְאָנֹכִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
נׇכְרִיָּֽה׃ [1] Silluq

and she bowed down [2]
to the ground; [1]
 
and she said to him, [3]
“Why have I found favor in your eyes, [3 3]
to pay attention to me, [2]
 
since I am [2]
a foreigner?” [1]
11 וַיַּ֤עַן בֹּ֙עַז֙ [3 3] Pashta
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר לָ֔הּ [2] Zaqef
 
הֻגֵּ֨ד הֻגַּ֜ד [4] Geresh
לִ֗י [3] Revi'i
 
כֹּ֤ל אֲשֶׁר־עָשִׂית֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־חֲמוֹתֵ֔ךְ [2] Zaqef
 
אַחֲרֵ֖י [2] Tip'cha
מ֣וֹת אִישֵׁ֑ךְ [1] Etnachta
 
וַתַּֽעַזְבִ֞י [4] Gershayim
אָבִ֣יךְ וְאִמֵּ֗ךְ [3] Revi'i

מֽוֹלַדְתֵּ֔ךְ [2] Zaqef
 
וַתֵּ֣לְכִ֔י [2] Zaqef
אֶל־עַ֕ם [2] ZaqefG
אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא־יָדַ֖עַתְּ [2] Tip'cha
תְּמ֥וֹל שִׁלְשֽׁוֹם׃ [1] Silluq

“Fully it has been told [4]
to me [3]
 
all that you have done [3]
for your mother-in-law [2]
 
since [2]
the death of your husband; [1]
 
that you left [4]
your father and your mother, [3]
 
and the land [3 3]
of your relatives, [2]
 
and you have come [2]
to a people [2]
which you didn’t know [2]
before (three days ago). [1]
12 יְשַׁלֵּ֥ם יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
פׇּעֳלֵ֑ךְ [1] Etnachta
 
וּתְהִ֨י מַשְׂכֻּרְתֵּ֜ךְ [4] Geresh
שְׁלֵמָ֗ה [3] Revi'i
 
מֵעִ֤ם יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta
אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל [2] Zaqef
 
אֲשֶׁר־בָּ֖את [2] Tip'cha
לַחֲס֥וֹת תַּֽחַת־כְּנָפָֽיו׃ [1] Silluq

your work; [1]
 
and may your wages [4]
be completed [3]
 
from the LORD, [3]
the God of Israel, [2]
 
to whom you have come [2]
to take refuge under his wings.” [1]

אֶמְצָא־חֵ֨ן בְּעֵינֶ֤יךָ אֲדֹנִי֙ [3] Pashta
כִּ֣י נִֽחַמְתָּ֔נִי [2] Zaqef
 
וְכִ֥י דִבַּ֖רְתָּ [2] Tip'cha
עַל־לֵ֣ב שִׁפְחָתֶ֑ךָ [1] Etnachta
 
וְאָֽנֹכִי֙ [3] Pashta
לֹ֣א אֶהְיֶ֔ה [2] Zaqef

שִׁפְחֹתֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq

“Let me find favor in your eyes my lord, [3]
because you have comforted me, [2]
 
and because you have spoken [2]
kindly to your maidservant; [1]

I am not [2]
 
like one [2]
of your maidservants.” [1]
14 וַיֹּ֩אמֶר֩ לָ֨הֿ בֹ֜עַז [4] Geresh
לְעֵ֣ת הָאֹ֗כֶל [3] Revi'i
 
גֹּ֤שִֽׁי הֲלֹם֙ [3] Pashta
וְאָכַ֣לְתְּ מִן־הַלֶּ֔חֶם [2] Zaqef
 
וְטָבַ֥לְתְּ פִּתֵּ֖ךְ [2] Tip'cha
בַּחֹ֑מֶץ [1] Etnachta
 
וַתֵּ֙שֶׁב֙ [3 3] Pashta
מִצַּ֣ד הַקֹּצְרִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
וַיִּצְבׇּט־לָ֣הּ קָלִ֔י [2] Zaqef
וַתֹּ֥אכַל וַתִּשְׂבַּ֖ע [2] Tip'cha
וַתֹּתַֽר׃ [1] Silluq

at meal time, [3]
 
“Come here [3]
and eat some bread, [2]
 
and dip your morsel [2]
in the vinegar.” [1]
 
And she sat down [3 3]
beside the reapers, [2]
 
and he passed to her roasted grain, [2]
and she ate and she was satisfied, [2]
and she had some left over. [1]
15 וַתָּ֖קׇם [2] Tip'cha
לְלַקֵּ֑ט [1] Etnachta
 
וַיְצַו֩ בֹּ֨עַז אֶת־נְעָרָ֜יו [4] Geresh
לֵאמֹ֗ר [3] Revi'i
 
גַּ֣ם בֵּ֧ין הָעֳמָרִ֛ים [3] Tevir
תְּלַקֵּ֖ט [2] Tip'cha
 
וְלֹ֥א תַכְלִימֽוּהָ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 4 3 15 And when she rose up [2]
to glean; [1]
 
Boaz commanded his servants [4]
saying, [3]
 
“Even among the sheaves [3]
let her glean, [2]
 
and don’t reproach her. [1]
16 וְגַ֛ם [3] Tevir
שֹׁל־תָּשֹׁ֥לּוּ לָ֖הּ [2] Tip'cha
מִן־הַצְּבָתִ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
וַעֲזַבְתֶּ֥ם וְלִקְּטָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
וְלֹ֥א תִגְעֲרוּ־בָֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq

pull out for her [2]
some from the bundles; [1]
 
and leave them and let her glean [2]
and don’t rebuke her.” [1]
17 וַתְּלַקֵּ֥ט בַּשָּׂדֶ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
עַד־הָעָ֑רֶב [1] Etnachta
 
וַתַּחְבֹּט֙ [3] Pashta
אֵ֣ת אֲשֶׁר־לִקֵּ֔טָה [2] Zaqef
 
וַיְהִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
כְּאֵיפָ֥ה שְׂעֹרִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 2 17 So she gleaned in the field [2]
until evening; [1]
 
and she beat out [3]
that which she had gleaned, [2]
 
and it was [2]
about an ephah of barley. [1]
18 וַתִּשָּׂא֙ [3] Pashta
וַתָּב֣וֹא הָעִ֔יר [2] Zaqef
 
וַתֵּ֥רֶא חֲמוֹתָ֖הּ [2] Tip'cha
אֵ֣ת אֲשֶׁר־לִקֵּ֑טָה [1] Etnachta
 
וַתּוֹצֵא֙ [3] Pashta
וַתִּתֶּן־לָ֔הּ [2] Zaqef
 
אֵ֥ת אֲשֶׁר־הוֹתִ֖רָה [2] Tip'cha
מִשׇּׂבְעָֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq

and she went into the city, [2]
 
and her mother-in-law saw [2]
what she had gleaned; [1]
 
and she took out [3]
and she gave to her [2]
 
that which she had left over [2]
after she had been satisfied. [1]
19 וַתֹּ֩אמֶר֩ לָ֨הּ חֲמוֹתָ֜הּ [4] Geresh
אֵיפֹ֨ה לִקַּ֤טְתְּ הַיּוֹם֙ [3] Pashta
וְאָ֣נָה עָשִׂ֔ית [2] Zaqef
 
יְהִ֥י מַכִּירֵ֖ךְ [2] Tip'cha
בָּר֑וּךְ [1] Etnachta
 
וַתַּגֵּ֣ד לַחֲמוֹתָ֗הּ [3] Revi'i
אֵ֤ת אֲשֶׁר־עָֽשְׂתָה֙ [3] Pashta
עִמּ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
וַתֹּ֗אמֶר [3] Revi'i
שֵׁ֤ם הָאִישׁ֙ [3] Pashta
אֲשֶׁ֨ר עָשִׂ֧יתִי עִמּ֛וֹ [3] Tevir
הַיּ֖וֹם [2] Tip'cha
 
בֹּֽעַז׃ [1] Silluq

“Where did you glean today? [3]
And where did you work? [2]
 
May the one who noticed you be [2]
blessed.” [1]
 
And she told her mother-in-law [3]
with whom she had worked [3]

and she said, [3]
“The name of the man [3]
with whom I worked [3]
today, [2]
 
is Boaz.” [1]
20 וַתֹּ֨אמֶר נׇעֳמִ֜י [4] Geresh

בָּר֥וּךְ הוּא֙ [3] Pashta
לַיהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef

לֹא־עָזַ֣ב חַסְדּ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
אֶת־הַחַיִּ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
וְאֶת־הַמֵּתִ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
וַתֹּ֧אמֶר לָ֣הּ נׇעֳמִ֗י [3] Revi'i
קָר֥וֹב לָ֙נוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
הָאִ֔ישׁ [2] Zaqef
 
מִֽגֹּאֲלֵ֖נוּ [2] Tip'cha
הֽוּא׃ [1] Silluq

“May he be blessed [3]
by the LORD, [2]

has not abandoned his kindness [2]
 
to the living [2]

“A close relative to us [3 3]
is the man, [2]
 
one of our near kinsmen [2]
is he.” [1]

ר֣וּת הַמּוֹאֲבִיָּ֑ה [1] Etnachta

כִּי־אָמַ֣ר אֵלַ֗י [3] Revi'i
 
עִם־הַנְּעָרִ֤ים אֲשֶׁר־לִי֙ [3] Pashta
תִּדְבָּקִ֔ין [2] Zaqef
 
עַ֣ד אִם־כִּלּ֔וּ [2] Zaqef
אֵ֥ת כׇּל־הַקָּצִ֖יר [2] Tip'cha
אֲשֶׁר־לִֽי׃ [1] Silluq

Ruth the Moabitess; [1]
 
“Yes, [4]
for he said to me, [3]
 
‘With my young men [3]
you shall stay, [2]
 
until they have completed [2]
all the harvest [2]
which belongs to me.’ ” [1]
22 וַתֹּ֥אמֶר נׇעֳמִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
אֶל־ר֣וּת כַּלָּתָ֑הּ [1] Etnachta
 
ט֣וֹב בִּתִּ֗י [3] Revi'i
כִּ֤י תֵֽצְאִי֙ [3] Pashta
עִם־נַ֣עֲרוֹתָ֔יו [2] Zaqef
 
וְלֹ֥א יִפְגְּעוּ־בָ֖ךְ [2] Tip'cha
בְּשָׂדֶ֥ה אַחֵֽר׃ [1] Silluq

to Ruth her daughter-in-law; [1]
 
“It is good, my daughter, [3]
that you go out [3]
with his maidens, [2]
 
and that you not be harmed [2]
in another field.” [1]
23 וַתִּדְבַּ֞ק [4] Gershayim
בְּנַעֲר֥וֹת בֹּ֙עַז֙ [3 3] Pashta
לְלַקֵּ֔ט [2] Zaqef
 
עַד־כְּל֥וֹת קְצִֽיר־הַשְּׂעֹרִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
וּקְצִ֣יר הַֽחִטִּ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
וַתֵּ֖שֶׁב [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־חֲמוֹתָֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq

with the maidens of Boaz [3 3]
to glean, [2]
 
until the end of the harvest of barley [2]
and the harvest of wheat; [1]
 
and she lived [2]
