[1] Silluq |
1 Open O Lebanon, [2] your door; [1] your cedars. [1] |
2 Wail O cypress, [3] for a cedar has fallen, [2] they have been devastated. [1] O oaks of Bashan, [2] the thick forest. [1] |
3 The voice [3] of the wailing of the shepherds! [2] their splendor; [1] of the roaring of young lions! [2] the thicket of the Jordan. [1] ¶ |
[1] Silluq |
4 Thus says he, [2] the LORD my God; [1] the flock of slaughter, [1] |
5 whose buyers slaughter them [3] and they go unpunished, [2] ‘Blessed be the LORD, [2] for am rich,’ [1] they have no compassion [2] on them. [1] |
6 For [4] I will no longer have compassion [3] on the inhabitants of the land,” [2] says the LORD; [1] will deliver everyone [3] and into the hand of his king, [2] the land, [2] from their hand.” [1] |
7 So I shepherded [3] the flock of slaughter, [2] the afflicted ones of the flock; [1] two staffs, [3] I called “Favor,” [3 3] I called “Union,” [2] the flock. [1] |
8 And I cut off [3] the three shepherds [2] in one month; [1] of them, [2] it loathed me. [1] |
9 And I said, [2] “I will not shepherd [2] you; [1] and the one which is to be destroyed [3 3] let it be destroyed, [2] let them eat [2] each [2] the flesh of the other.” [1] |
10 And I took my staff [3] Favor, [2] it; [1] my covenant [2] with all the peoples. [1] |
11 And it was broken [2] on that day; [1] the afflicted of the flock [3] who listened to me, [2] it was. [1] § |
12 And I said to them, [3] “If it seems good in your eyes, [3] pay my wages, [2] but if not, never mind.” [1] thirty pieces of silver. [1] |
13 And the LORD said [4] to me, [3] to the potter, [2] at which I was valued [2] by them!” [1] the thirty pieces of silver, [2] (into) the house of the LORD [2] to the potter. [1] |
14 Then I broke [3] my second staff, [2] Union; [1] the brotherhood [2] and Israel. [1] ¶ |
[1] Silluq |
15 And the LORD said [2] to me; [1] the equipment [2] of a foolish shepherd. [1] |
16 For behold, I will raise up a shepherd [4] in the land [3] he will not seek out the young, [2] he will not heal; [1] he will not sustain, [2] he will eat, [2] he will tear off. [1] |
17 Woe to the worthless shepherd [3] who abandons the flock! [2] and his right eye; [1] may it completely wither, [2] be totally blinded!” [1] ¶ |
