1 פְּתַ֥ח לְבָנ֖וֹן [2] Tip'cha
דְּלָתֶ֑יךָ [1] Etnachta
 
וְתֹאכַ֥ל אֵ֖שׁ [2] Tip'cha
בַּאֲרָזֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 1 Open O Lebanon, [2]
your door; [1]
 
that fire may consume [2]
your cedars. [1]
2 הֵילֵ֤ל בְּרוֹשׁ֙ [3] Pashta
כִּֽי־נָ֣פַל אֶ֔רֶז [2] Zaqef
 
אֲשֶׁ֥ר אַדִּרִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
שֻׁדָּ֑דוּ [1] Etnachta
 
הֵילִ֙ילוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
אַלּוֹנֵ֣י בָשָׁ֔ן [2] Zaqef
 
כִּ֥י יָרַ֖ד [2] Tip'cha
יַ֥עַר *הבצור **הַבָּצִֽיר׃ [1] Silluq

for a cedar has fallen, [2]
 
those majestic ones, [2]
they have been devastated. [1]
 
Wail [3 3]
O oaks of Bashan, [2]
 
for it has come down, [2]
the thick forest. [1]

יִֽלְלַ֣ת הָרֹעִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
כִּ֥י שֻׁדְּדָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אַדַּרְתָּ֑ם [1] Etnachta

שַׁאֲגַ֣ת כְּפִירִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
כִּ֥י שֻׁדַּ֖ד [2] Tip'cha

For it has been devastated, [2]
their splendor; [1]
 
The voice [3]
of the roaring of young lions! [2]
 
For it has been devastated, [2]
the thicket of the Jordan. [1]
4 כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהָ֑י [1] Etnachta
 
רְעֵ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־צֹ֥אן הַהֲרֵגָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 4 Thus says he, [2]
the LORD my God; [1]
 
“Shepherd [2]
the flock of slaughter, [1]
5 אֲשֶׁ֨ר קֹנֵיהֶ֤ן יַֽהַרְגֻן֙ [3] Pashta
וְלֹ֣א יֶאְשָׁ֔מוּ [2] Zaqef
 
וּמֹכְרֵיהֶ֣ן יֹאמַ֔ר [2] Zaqef
בָּר֥וּךְ יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
וַאעְשִׁ֑ר [1] Etnachta
 
וְרֹ֣עֵיהֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef
לֹ֥א יַחְמ֖וֹל [2] Tip'cha
עֲלֵיהֶֽן׃ [1] Silluq

and they go unpunished, [2]
 
and their sellers say, [2]
‘Blessed be the LORD, [2]
for am rich,’ [1]
 
and their shepherds, [2]
they have no compassion [2]
on them. [1]

לֹ֣א אֶחְמ֥וֹל ע֛וֹד [3] Tevir
עַל־יֹשְׁבֵ֥י הָאָ֖רֶץ [2] Tip'cha
נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וְהִנֵּ֨ה אָנֹכִ֜י [4] Geresh
מַמְצִ֣יא אֶת־הָאָדָ֗ם [3] Revi'i
 
אִ֤ישׁ בְּיַד־רֵעֵ֙הוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
וּבְיַ֣ד מַלְכּ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
וְכִתְּתוּ֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־הָאָ֔רֶץ [2] Zaqef
 
וְלֹ֥א אַצִּ֖יל [2] Tip'cha
מִיָּדָֽם׃ [1] Silluq

I will no longer have compassion [3]
on the inhabitants of the land,” [2]
says the LORD; [1]
 
“for behold I [4]
will deliver everyone [3]
 
each into the hand of his neighbor, [3 3]
and into the hand of his king, [2]
 
and they will crush [3]
the land, [2]
 
and I will not deliver it [2]
from their hand.” [1]
7 וָֽאֶרְעֶה֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־צֹ֣אן הַהֲרֵגָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
לָכֵ֖ן [2] Tip'cha
עֲנִיֵּ֣י הַצֹּ֑אן [1] Etnachta
 
וָאֶקַּֽח־לִ֞י [4] Gershayim
שְׁנֵ֣י מַקְל֗וֹת [3] Revi'i
 
לְאַחַ֞ד [4] Gershayim
קָרָ֤אתִֽי נֹ֙עַם֙ [3 3] Pashta
 
וּלְאַחַד֙ [3] Pashta
קָרָ֣אתִי חֹֽבְלִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
וָֽאֶרְעֶ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־הַצֹּֽאן׃ [1] Silluq

the flock of slaughter, [2]
 
especially [2]
the afflicted ones of the flock; [1]
 
and I took for myself [4]
two staffs, [3]
 
the one [4]
I called “Favor,” [3 3]
 
and the other [3]
I called “Union,” [2]
 
and I shepherded [2]
the flock. [1]
8 וָאַכְחִ֛ד [3] Tevir
אֶת־שְׁלֹ֥שֶׁת הָרֹעִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
בְּיֶ֣רַח אֶחָ֑ד [1] Etnachta
 
וַתִּקְצַ֤ר נַפְשִׁי֙ [3] Pashta
בָּהֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
וְגַם־נַפְשָׁ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
בָּחֲלָ֥ה בִֽי׃ [1] Silluq

the three shepherds [2]
in one month; [1]
 
for my soul was weary [3]
of them, [2]
 
and also their soul, [2]
it loathed me. [1]
9 וָאֹמַ֕ר [2] ZaqefG
לֹ֥א אֶרְעֶ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אֶתְכֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
הַמֵּתָ֣ה תָמ֗וּת [3] Revi'i
וְהַנִּכְחֶ֙דֶת֙ [3 3] Pashta
תִּכָּחֵ֔ד [2] Zaqef
 
וְהַ֨נִּשְׁאָר֔וֹת [2] Zaqef
תֹּאכַ֕לְנָה [2] ZaqefG
אִשָּׁ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־בְּשַׂ֥ר רְעוּתָֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq

“I will not shepherd [2]
you; [1]
 
the one which dies let it die, [3]
and the one which is to be destroyed [3 3]
let it be destroyed, [2]
 
and those who survive, [2]
let them eat [2]
each [2]
the flesh of the other.” [1]
10 וָאֶקַּ֤ח אֶת־מַקְלִי֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־נֹ֔עַם [2] Zaqef
 
וָאֶגְדַּ֖ע [2] Tip'cha
אֹת֑וֹ [1] Etnachta
 
לְהָפֵיר֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־בְּרִיתִ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
אֲשֶׁ֥ר כָּרַ֖תִּי [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־כׇּל־הָעַמִּֽים׃ [1] Silluq

Favor, [2]
 
and I broke [2]
it; [1]
 
to break [3]
my covenant [2]
 
which I had made [2]
with all the peoples. [1]
11 וַתֻּפַ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֑וּא [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֵּדְע֨וּ כֵ֜ן [4] Geresh
עֲנִיֵּ֤י הַצֹּאן֙ [3] Pashta
הַשֹּׁמְרִ֣ים אֹתִ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
כִּ֥י דְבַר־יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
הֽוּא׃ [1] Silluq

on that day; [1]
 
and thus they knew, [4]
the afflicted of the flock [3]
who listened to me, [2]
 
that the word of the LORD, [2]
it was. [1]

12 וָאֹמַ֣ר אֲלֵיהֶ֗ם [3] Revi'i
אִם־ט֧וֹב בְּעֵינֵיכֶ֛ם [3] Tevir
הָב֥וּ שְׂכָרִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
וְאִם־לֹ֣א ׀ חֲדָ֑לוּ [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּשְׁקְל֥וּ אֶת־שְׂכָרִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים כָּֽסֶף׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 12 And I said to them, [3]
“If it seems good in your eyes, [3]
pay my wages, [2]
but if not, never mind.” [1]
 
So they weighed out my wages, [2]
thirty pieces of silver. [1]
13 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהֹוָ֜ה [4] Geresh
אֵלַ֗י [3] Revi'i
 
הַשְׁלִיכֵ֙הוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
אֶל־הַיּוֹצֵ֔ר [2] Zaqef
 
אֶ֣דֶר הַיְקָ֔ר [2] Zaqef
אֲשֶׁ֥ר יָקַ֖רְתִּי [2] Tip'cha
מֵעֲלֵיהֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וָֽאֶקְחָה֙ [3] Pashta
שְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים הַכֶּ֔סֶף [2] Zaqef
 
וָֽאַשְׁלִ֥יךְ אֹת֛וֹ [3] Tevir
בֵּ֥ית יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אֶל־הַיּוֹצֵֽר׃ [1] Silluq

to me, [3]
 
“Throw it [3 3]
to the potter, [2]
 
the handsome price [2]
at which I was valued [2]
by them!” [1]
 
And I took [3]
the thirty pieces of silver, [2]
 
and I threw it [3]
(into) the house of the LORD [2]
to the potter. [1]
14 וָֽאֶגְדַּע֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־מַקְלִ֣י הַשֵּׁנִ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
אֵ֖ת [2] Tip'cha
הַחֹֽבְלִ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
לְהָפֵר֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־הָאַֽחֲוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
בֵּ֥ין יְהוּדָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
וּבֵ֥ין יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq

my second staff, [2]

Union; [1]
 
to break [3]
the brotherhood [2]
 
between Judah [2]
and Israel. [1]
15 וַיֹּ֥אמֶר יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אֵלָ֑י [1] Etnachta
 
ע֣וֹד קַח־לְךָ֔ [2] Zaqef
כְּלִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
רֹעֶ֥ה אֱוִלִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 15 And the LORD said [2]
to me; [1]
 
“Take again for yourself [2]
the equipment [2]
of a foolish shepherd. [1]
16 כִּ֣י הִנֵּֽה־אָנֹכִי֩ מֵקִ֨ים רֹעֶ֜ה [4] Geresh
בָּאָ֗רֶץ [3] Revi'i
 
הַנִּכְחָד֤וֹת לֹֽא־יִפְקֹד֙ [3] Pashta
הַנַּ֣עַר לֹֽא־יְבַקֵּ֔שׁ [2] Zaqef
 
וְהַנִּשְׁבֶּ֖רֶת [2] Tip'cha
לֹ֣א יְרַפֵּ֑א [1] Etnachta
 
הַנִּצָּבָה֙ [3] Pashta
לֹ֣א יְכַלְכֵּ֔ל [2] Zaqef
 
וּבְשַׂ֤ר הַבְּרִיאָה֙ [3] Pashta
יֹאכַ֔ל [2] Zaqef
 
וּפַרְסֵיהֶ֖ן [2] Tip'cha
יְפָרֵֽק׃ [1] Silluq

in the land [3]
 
who will not care for those who are being destroyed, [3]
he will not seek out the young, [2]
 
and the one which is maimed [2]
he will not heal; [1]
 
the one which stands firm [3]
he will not sustain, [2]
 
but the flesh of the fat [3]
he will eat, [2]
 
and their hoofs [2]
he will tear off. [1]
17 ה֣וֹי רֹעִ֤י הָאֱלִיל֙ [3] Pashta
עֹזְבִ֣י הַצֹּ֔אן [2] Zaqef
 
חֶ֥רֶב עַל־זְרוֹע֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
וְעַל־עֵ֣ין יְמִינ֑וֹ [1] Etnachta
 
זְרֹעוֹ֙ [3] Pashta
יָב֣וֹשׁ תִּיבָ֔שׁ [2] Zaqef
 
וְעֵ֥ין יְמִינ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
כָּהֹ֥ה תִכְהֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq

who abandons the flock! [2]
 
May a sword strike his arm [2]
and his right eye; [1]
 
his arm, [3]
may it completely wither, [2]
 
and his right eye [2]
be totally blinded!” [1]
