1 נִבְחָ֣ר שֵׁ֭ם [3] Dechi
מֵעֹ֣שֶׁר רָ֑ב [2] Etnachta
 
מִכֶּ֥סֶף וּ֝מִזָּהָ֗ב [2] Revi'i Mugrash
חֵ֣ן טֽוֹב׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 1 A good name is more desirable than great riches, and loving favor is better than silver and gold. [3]
2 עָשִׁ֣יר וָרָ֣שׁ [3] VDechi
נִפְגָּ֑שׁוּ [2] Etnachta
 
עֹשֵׂ֖ה כֻלָּ֣ם [2] VRevMug
יְהוָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 The rich and the poor have this in common: The LORD is the maker of them all. [3]
3 עָר֤וּם ׀ [4] Mahpakh Legarmeh
רָאָ֣ה רָעָ֣ה [3] VDechi
*ויסתר **וְנִסְתָּ֑ר [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝פְתָיִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עָבְר֥וּ וְֽנֶעֱנָֽשׁוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 2 3 A prudent man sees danger and hides himself; but the simple pass on, and suffer for it. [4]
4 עֵ֣קֶב עֲ֭נָוָה [3] Dechi
יִרְאַ֣ת יְהוָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
עֹ֖שֶׁר וְכָב֣וֹד [2] VRevMug
וְחַיִּֽים׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 4 The result of humility and the fear of the LORD is wealth, honor, and life. [3]
5 צִנִּ֣ים פַּ֭חִים [3] Dechi
בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ עִקֵּ֑שׁ [2] Etnachta
 
שׁוֹמֵ֥ר נַ֝פְשׁ֗וֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יִרְחַ֥ק מֵהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 5 Thorns and snares are in the path of the wicked: whoever guards his soul stays from them. [3]
6 חֲנֹ֣ךְ לַ֭נַּעַר [3] Dechi
עַל־פִּ֣י דַרְכּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
גַּ֥ם כִּֽי־יַ֝זְקִ֗ין [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹֽא־יָס֥וּר מִמֶּֽנָּה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 6 Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. [3]
7 עָ֭שִׁיר [3] Dechi
בְּרָשִׁ֣ים יִמְשׁ֑וֹל [2] Etnachta
 
וְעֶ֥בֶד לֹ֝וֶ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לְאִ֣ישׁ מַלְוֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 7 The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender. [3]
8 זוֹרֵ֣עַ עַ֭וְלָה [3] Dechi
*יקצור־**יִקְצָר־אָ֑וֶן [2] Etnachta
 
וְשֵׁ֖בֶט עֶבְרָת֣וֹ [2] VRevMug
יִכְלֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 8 He who sows wickedness reaps trouble, and the rod of his fury will be destroyed. [3]
9 טֽוֹב־עַ֭יִן [3] Dechi
ה֣וּא יְבֹרָ֑ךְ [2] Etnachta
 
כִּֽי־נָתַ֖ן מִלַּחְמ֣וֹ [2] VRevMug
לַדָּֽל׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 9 He who has a generous eye will be blessed; for he shares his food with the poor. [3]
10 גָּ֣רֵֽשׁ לֵ֭ץ [3] Dechi
וְיֵצֵ֣א מָד֑וֹן [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝יִשְׁבֹּ֗ת [2] Revi'i Mugrash
דִּ֣ין וְקָלֽוֹן׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 10 Drive out the mocker, and strife will go out; yes, quarrels and insults will stop. [3]
11 אֹהֵ֥ב *טהור־**טְהָר־לֵ֑ב [2] Etnachta
 
חֵ֥ן שְׂ֝פָתָ֗יו [2] Revi'i Mugrash
רֵעֵ֥הוּ מֶֽלֶךְ׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 11 He who loves purity of heart and speaks gracefully is the king’s friend. [2]
 
12 עֵינֵ֣י יְ֭הוָה [3] Dechi
נָ֣צְרוּ דָ֑עַת [2] Etnachta
 
וַ֝יְסַלֵּ֗ף [2] Revi'i Mugrash
דִּבְרֵ֥י בֹגֵֽד׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 12 The LORD’s eyes watch over knowledge; but he frustrates the words of the unfaithful. [3]
13 אָמַ֣ר עָ֭צֵל [3] Dechi
אֲרִ֣י בַח֑וּץ [2] Etnachta
 
בְּת֥וֹךְ רְ֝חֹב֗וֹת [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אֵֽרָצֵֽחַ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 13 The sluggard says, “There is a lion outside! I will be killed in the streets!” [3]
14 שׁוּחָ֣ה עֲ֭מֻקָּה [3] Dechi
פִּ֣י זָר֑וֹת [2] Etnachta
 
זְע֥וּם יְ֝הוָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
*יפול־**יִפָּל־שָֽׁם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 14 The mouth of an adulteress is a deep pit. He who is under the LORD’s wrath will fall into it. [3]
15 אִ֭וֶּלֶת [3] Dechi
קְשׁוּרָ֣ה בְלֶב־נָ֑עַר [2] Etnachta
 
שֵׁ֥בֶט מ֝וּסָ֗ר [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יַרְחִיקֶ֥נָּה מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 15 Folly is bound up in the heart of a child: the rod of discipline drives it far from him. [3]
16 עֹ֣שֵֽׁק דָּ֭ל [3] Dechi
לְהַרְבּ֣וֹת ל֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
נֹתֵ֥ן לְ֝עָשִׁ֗יר [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אַךְ־לְמַחְסֽוֹר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 16 Whoever oppresses the poor for his own increase and whoever gives to the rich, both come to poverty. [3]
17 הַ֥ט אָזְנְךָ֗ [3] Revi'i
וּ֭שְׁמַע [3] Dechi
דִּבְרֵ֣י חֲכָמִ֑ים [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝לִבְּךָ֗ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
תָּשִׁ֥ית לְדַעְתִּֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 3 2 17 Turn your ear, and listen to the words of the wise. Apply your heart to my teaching. [3]
18 כִּֽי־נָ֭עִים [3] Dechi
כִּֽי־תִשְׁמְרֵ֣ם בְּבִטְנֶ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta
 
יִכֹּ֥נוּ יַ֝חְדָּ֗ו [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עַל־שְׂפָתֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 18 For it is a pleasant thing if you keep them within you, if all of them are ready on your lips. [3]
19 לִהְי֣וֹת בַּ֭יהוָה [3] Dechi
מִבְטַחֶ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta
 
הוֹדַעְתִּ֖יךָ הַיּ֣וֹם [2] VRevMug
אַף־אָֽתָּה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 19 I teach you today, even you, So that your trust may be in the LORD. [3]
20 הֲלֹ֤א כָתַ֣בְתִּי לְ֭ךָ [3] Dechi
*שלשום **שָׁלִישִׁ֑ים [2] Etnachta
 
בְּמ֖וֹעֵצֹ֣ת [2] VRevMug
וָדָֽעַת׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 20 Haven’t I written to you thirty excellent things of counsel and knowledge, [3]
21 לְהוֹדִֽיעֲךָ֗ [3] Revi'i
קֹ֭שְׁטְ [3] Dechi
אִמְרֵ֣י אֱמֶ֑ת [2] Etnachta
 
לְהָשִׁ֥יב אֲמָרִ֥ים אֱ֝מֶ֗ת [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לְשֹׁלְחֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq

2 3 3 2 21 To teach you truth, reliable words, to give sound answers to the ones who sent you? [3]
22 אַֽל־תִּגְזָל־דָּ֭ל [3] Dechi
כִּ֣י דַל־ה֑וּא [2] Etnachta
 
וְאַל־תְּדַכֵּ֖א עָנִ֣י [2] VRevMug
בַשָּֽׁעַר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 22 Don’t exploit the poor, because he is poor; and don’t crush the needy in court, [3]
23 כִּֽי־יְ֭הוָה [3] Dechi
יָרִ֣יב רִיבָ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
וְקָבַ֖ע אֶת־קֹבְעֵיהֶ֣ם [2] VRevMug
נָֽפֶשׁ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 23 for the LORD will plead their case, and plunder the life of those who plunder them. [3]
24 אַל־תִּ֭תְרַע [3] Dechi
אֶת־בַּ֣עַל אָ֑ף [2] Etnachta
 
וְאֶת־אִ֥ישׁ חֵ֝מוֹת [2] Geresh
לֹ֣א תָבֽוֹא׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 24 Don’t befriend a hot-tempered man, and don’t associate with one who harbors anger, [3]
25 פֶּן־תֶּאֱלַ֥ף *ארחתו **אֹֽרְחֹתָ֑יו [2] Etnachta
 
וְלָקַחְתָּ֖ מוֹקֵ֣שׁ [2] VRevMug
לְנַפְשֶֽׁךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 25 lest you learn his ways, and ensnare your soul. [2]
 
26 אַל־תְּהִ֥י בְתֹֽקְעֵי־כָ֑ף [2] Etnachta
 
בַּ֝עֹרְבִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מַשָּׁאֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 26 Don’t you be one of those who strike hands, of those who are collateral for debts. [2]
 
27 אִם־אֵֽין־לְךָ֥ לְשַׁלֵּ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
לָ֥מָּה יִקַּ֥ח מִ֝שְׁכָּבְךָ֗ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מִתַּחְתֶּֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 27 If you don’t have means to pay, why should he take away your bed from under you? [2]
 
28 אַל־תַּ֭סֵּג [3] Dechi
גְּב֣וּל עוֹלָ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
אֲשֶׁ֖ר עָשׂ֣וּ [2] VRevMug
אֲבוֹתֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 28 Don’t move the ancient boundary stone which your fathers have set up. [3]
29 חָזִ֡יתָ [4] Pazer
אִ֤ישׁ ׀ [4] Mahpakh Legarmeh
מָ֘הִ֤יר בִּמְלַאכְתּ֗וֹ [3] Revi'i
לִֽפְנֵֽי־מְלָכִ֥ים יִתְיַצָּ֑ב [2] Etnachta
 
בַּל־יִ֝תְיַצֵּב [2] Geresh
לִפְנֵ֥י חֲשֻׁכִּֽים׃ [1] Silluq

2 3 4 4 2 29 Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will serve kings. He won’t serve obscure men. ¶ [4]
