1 בְּ֭נִי [3] Dechi
לְחָכְמָתִ֣י הַקְשִׁ֑יבָה [2] Etnachta
 
לִ֝תְבוּנָתִ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
הַט־אָזְנֶֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 1 My son, pay attention to my wisdom. Turn your ear to my understanding, [3]
2 לִשְׁמֹ֥ר מְזִמּ֑וֹת [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝דַ֗עַת [2] Revi'i Mugrash
שְׂפָתֶ֥יךָ יִנְצֹֽרוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 2 that you may maintain discretion, that your lips may preserve knowledge. [2]
 
3 כִּ֤י נֹ֣פֶת תִּ֭טֹּפְנָה [3] Dechi
שִׂפְתֵ֣י זָרָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וְחָלָ֖ק מִשֶּׁ֣מֶן [2] VRevMug
חִכָּֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 For the lips of an adulteress drip honey. Her mouth is smoother than oil, [3]
4 וְֽ֭אַחֲרִיתָהּ [3] Dechi
מָרָ֣ה כַֽלַּעֲנָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
חַ֝דָּ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כְּחֶ֣רֶב פִּיּֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 4 but in the end she is as bitter as wormwood, and as sharp as a two-edged sword. [3]
5 רַ֭גְלֶיהָ [3] Dechi
יֹרְד֣וֹת מָ֑וֶת [2] Etnachta
 
שְׁ֝א֗וֹל [2] Revi'i Mugrash
צְעָדֶ֥יהָ יִתְמֹֽכוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 5 Her feet go down to death. Her steps lead straight to Sheol. [3]
6 אֹ֣רַח חַ֭יִּים [3] Dechi
פֶּן־תְּפַלֵּ֑ס [2] Etnachta
 
נָע֥וּ מַ֝עְגְּלֹתֶ֗יהָ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹ֣א תֵדָֽע׃ [1] Silluq

2 3 2 6 She gives no thought to the way of life. Her ways are crooked, and she doesn’t know it. [3]
7 וְעַתָּ֣ה בָ֭נִים [3] Dechi
שִׁמְעוּ־לִ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
וְאַל־תָּ֝ס֗וּרוּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מֵאִמְרֵי־פִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 7 Now therefore, my sons, listen to me. Don’t depart from the words of my mouth. [3]
8 הַרְחֵ֣ק מֵעָלֶ֣יהָ [3] VDechi
דַרְכֶּ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta
 
וְאַל־תִּ֝קְרַ֗ב [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אֶל־פֶּ֥תַח בֵּיתָֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 8 Remove your way far from her. Don’t come near the door of her house, [3]
9 פֶּן־תִּתֵּ֣ן לַאֲחֵרִ֣ים [3] VDechi
הוֹדֶ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝שְׁנֹתֶ֗יךָ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לְאַכְזָרִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 9 lest you give your honor to others, and your years to the cruel one, [3]
10 פֶּֽן־יִשְׂבְּע֣וּ זָרִ֣ים [3] VDechi
כֹּחֶ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta
 
וַ֝עֲצָבֶ֗יךָ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בְּבֵ֣ית נָכְרִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 10 lest strangers feast on your wealth, and your labors enrich another man’s house. [3]
11 וְנָהַמְתָּ֥ בְאַחֲרִיתֶ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta
 
בִּכְל֥וֹת בְּ֝שָׂרְךָ֗ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וּשְׁאֵרֶֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 11 You will groan at your latter end, when your flesh and your body are consumed, [2]
 
12 וְֽאָמַרְתָּ֗ [3] Revi'i
אֵ֭יךְ [3] Dechi
שָׂנֵ֣אתִי מוּסָ֑ר [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝תוֹכַ֗חַת [2] Revi'i Mugrash
נָאַ֥ץ לִבִּֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 3 2 12 and say, “How I have hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof, [3]
13 וְֽלֹא־שָׁ֭מַעְתִּי [3] Dechi
בְּק֣וֹל מוֹרָ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝לִֽמְלַמְּדַ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹא־הִטִּ֥יתִי אָזְנִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 13 neither have I obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor turned my ear to those who instructed me! [3]
14 כִּ֭מְעַט [3] Dechi
הָיִ֣יתִי בְכָל־רָ֑ע [2] Etnachta
 
בְּת֖וֹךְ קָהָ֣ל [2] VRevMug
וְעֵדָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 14 I have come to the brink of utter ruin, among the gathered assembly.” [3]
15 שְׁתֵה־מַ֥יִם מִבּוֹרֶ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝נֹזְלִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מִתּ֥וֹךְ בְּאֵרֶֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 15 Drink water out of your own cistern, running water out of your own well. [2]
 
16 יָפ֣וּצוּ מַעְיְנֹתֶ֣יךָ [3] VDechi
ח֑וּצָה [2] Etnachta
 
בָּ֝רְחֹב֗וֹת [2] Revi'i Mugrash
פַּלְגֵי־מָֽיִם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 16 Should your springs overflow in the streets, streams of water in the public squares? [3]
17 יִֽהְיוּ־לְךָ֥ לְבַדֶּ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta
 
וְאֵ֖ין לְזָרִ֣ים [2] VRevMug
אִתָּֽךְ׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 17 Let them be for yourself alone, not for strangers with you. [2]
 
18 יְהִֽי־מְקוֹרְךָ֥ בָר֑וּךְ [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝שְׂמַ֗ח [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מֵאֵ֥שֶׁת נְעוּרֶֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 18 Let your spring be blessed. Rejoice in the wife of your youth. [2]
 
19 אַיֶּ֥לֶת אֲהָבִ֗ים [3] Revi'i
וְֽיַעֲלַ֫ת־חֵ֥ן [2] Ole Veyored
 
דַּ֭דֶּיהָ [3] Dechi
יְרַוֻּ֣ךָ בְכָל־עֵ֑ת [2] Etnachta
 
בְּ֝אַהֲבָתָ֗הּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
תִּשְׁגֶּ֥ה תָמִֽיד׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 2 19 A loving doe and a graceful deer— let her breasts satisfy you at all times. Be captivated always with her love. [3]
20 וְלָ֤מָּה תִשְׁגֶּ֣ה בְנִ֣י [3] VDechi
בְזָרָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝תְחַבֵּ֗ק [2] Revi'i Mugrash
חֵ֣ק נָכְרִיָּֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 20 For why should you, my son, be captivated with an adulteress? Why embrace the bosom of another? [3]
21 כִּ֤י נֹ֨כַח ׀ [4] Azla Legarmeh
עֵינֵ֣י יְ֭הוָה [3] Dechi
דַּרְכֵי־אִ֑ישׁ [2] Etnachta
 
וְֽכָל־מַעְגְּלֹתָ֥יו מְפַלֵּֽס׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 21 For the ways of man are before the LORD’s eyes. He examines all his paths. [4]
22 עַֽווֹנוֹתָ֗יו [3] Revi'i
יִלְכְּדֻנ֥וֹ אֶת־הָרָשָׁ֑ע [2] Etnachta
 
וּבְחַבְלֵ֥י חַ֝טָּאת֗וֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יִתָּמֵֽךְ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 22 The evil deeds of the wicked ensnare him. The cords of his sin hold him firmly. [3]
23 ה֗וּא [3] Revi'i
יָ֭מוּת [3] Dechi
בְּאֵ֣ין מוּסָ֑ר [2] Etnachta
 
וּבְרֹ֖ב אִוַּלְתּ֣וֹ [2] VRevMug
יִשְׁגֶּֽה׃ [1] Silluq
