DefinitionShort: pertaining to being made or consisting of citron wood (that is, from a citron tree, a coniferous tree related to cypresses, pines, and cedars; up to 9 m high; scaly leaves, reddish brown bark, sweet-smelling wood)

        Glosses: of citron wood

Comments: The citron tree belongs to the citrus family of plants, and it produces a pale yellow fruit somewhat larger than a lemon, the rind of which is often candied. In {S:06601801200042}, however, the focus is upon the fine quality of the wood, and since citron trees are not known in many parts of the world, it may be useful to translate πᾶν ξύλον θύϊνον simply as ‘all kinds of valuable wood.’
