1:1 The Jewish ancestors of the messiah

1 This is the genealogy of Yeshua (Grk: Yaysous) the messiah (Grk: Christ) the descendant of King David the descendant of Abraham (Grk: Abraam).

2 Abraham was the father of Isaac, Isaac the father of Yacob (Grk: Yakob), Yacob the father of Yudah (Grk: Youdas) and his brothers. 3 Yudah was the father of Perez (Grk: Fares) and Zerah (Grk: Zara) through Tamar (Grk: Thamar), Perez the father of Hezron (Grk: Hezrom), Hezron the father of Aram, 4 Aram the father of Aminadab, Aminadab the father of Nahshon (Grk: Naasson), Nahshon the father of Salmon, 5 Salmon the father of Boaz (Grk: Boes) through Rahab, Boaz the father of Obed (Grk: Yobed) through Ruth (Grk: Routh), and Obed the father of Jesse (Grk: Yessai), 6 and Jesse the father of David the king.

David was the father of Solomon (Grk: Solomona) through Uriah’s (Grk: Ourias) wife, 7 Solomon was the father of Rehoboam (Grk: Roboam), Rehoboam the father of Abijah (Grk: Abia), Abijah the father of Asa (Grk: Asaf), 8 Asa the father of Jehoshapat (Grk: Yosafat). Jehoshapat the father of Joram (Grk: Yoram), Joram the father of Uzziah (Grk: Ozias), 9 Uzziah the father of Jotham (Grk: Yoatham), Jotham the father of Ahaz (Grk: Achaz), Ahaz the father of Hezekiah (Grk: Hezekias), 10 Hezekiah the father of Manasseh (Grk: Manasse), Manasseh the father of Amon (Grk: Amos), Amos the father of Josiah (Grk: Yosias), 11 [ref]Josiah was the father of Jechoniah (Grk: Yechonias) and his brothers, when they were deported to Babylon (Grk: Babulonos).

12 And after the deportation to Babylon, Jechoniah was the father of Shealtiel (Grk: Salathiel), Shealtiel was the father of Zerubbabel (Grk: Zorobabel), 13 Zerubbabel was the father of Abiud (Grk: Abioud), Abiud was the father of Eliakim, and Eliakim the father of Azor, 14 Azor the father of Zadok, Zadok the father of Achim, Achim the father of Eliud (Grk: Elioud), 15 Eliud the father of Eleazar, Eleazar the father of Matthan, Matthan the father of Yacob (Grk: Yakob), 16 Yacob the father of Yosef (Grk: Yosef), the husband of Maria (Grk: Marias) who Yeshua (Grk: Yesous), the one called the messiah was born to.

17 So the generations from Abraham to David numbered fourteen, from David to the deportation to Babylon there were fourteen generations, and from the deportation to Babylon to the messiah there were fourteen generations.

2 Abraʼam bore the Isaʼak/(Yiʦəḩāq), and Isaʼak bore the Yakōb/(Yaˊaqov), and Yakōb bore the Youda/(Yəhūdāh) and the brothers of _him, 3 and Youda bore the Fares/(Fereʦ) and the Zara/(Zeraḩ) of the Thamar/(Tāmār), and Fares bore the Hesrōm/(Ḩeʦərōn), and Hesrōm bore the Aram/(Rām), 4 and Aram bore the Aminadab/(ˊAmmiynādāv), and Aminadab bore the Naʼassōn/(Naḩəshōn), and Naʼassōn bore the Salmōn/(Saləmōn), 5 and Salmōn bore the Boʼoz/(Boˊaz) of the Ɽaⱪab/(Rāḩāv), and Boʼoz bore the Yōbaʸd/Ōbaʸd/(ˊŌvēd) of the Ɽouth/(Rūt), and Yōbaʸd bore the Yessai/(Yishay), 6 and Yessai bore the Dawid the king.
And Dawid bore the Solomōn/(Shəlmoh) of the wife of_ the _Ourias/(ʼUriy^yāh), 7 and Solomōn bore the Ɽoboam/(Rəaḩvəˊām), and Ɽoboam bore the Abia/(ʼAvīāh), and Abia bore the Asaf/(ʼĀşāf), 8 and Asaf bore the Yōsafat/(Yəhōshāfāţ), and Yōsafat bore the Yōram/(Yōrām), and Yōram bore the Ozias/(ˊUzziy^yāh), 9 and Ozias bore the Yōatham/(Yōtām), and Yōatham bore the Aⱪaz/(ʼĀḩāz), and Aⱪaz bore the Hezekias/(Ḩizəqiy^yāh), 10 and Hezekias bore the Manassaʸs/(Mənashsheh), and Manassaʸs bore the Amōs/(ʼĀmōʦ), and Amōs bore the Yōsias/(Yʼoshiy^yāh), 11 and Yōsias bore the Yeⱪonias/(Yəkānə^yāh) and the brothers of _him during the deportation to_Babulōn/(Bāvel?

12 And after the deportation to _Babulōn, Yeⱪonias bore the Salathiaʸl/(Shəʼaləttiy^ʼēl), and Salathiaʸl bore the Zorobabel/(Zərubbāvel), 13 and Zorobabel bore the Abioud/(ʼAvīhūd), and Abioud bore the Eliakeim/(ʼEləyāqīm), and Eliakeim bore the Azōr/(ˊAzzūr), 14 and Azōr bore the Sadōk/(Tsādōq), and Sadōk bore the Aⱪeim/(Yōqīm), and Aⱪeim bore the Elioud/(ʼĒl-hōd), 15 and Elioud bore the Eleazar/(ʼEləˊāzār), and Eleazar bore the Matthan/(Mattān), and Matthan bore the Yakōb, 16 and Yakōb bore the Yōsaʸf/(Yōşēf) the husband of _Maria/(Mirəyām), of whom was _born Yaʸsous/(Yəhōshūˊa), the one being _called the_chosen _one /messiah.
17 Therefore all the generations from Abraʼam/(ʼAvərāhām) to Dawid/(Dāvid) were fourteen generations, and from Dawid until the deportation to _Babulōn fourteen generations, and from the deportation to _Babulōn to the chosen _one /messiah fourteen generations.

1:18 The birth of the messiah

(Luke 1:26-38)

18 [ref]Now this is how the birth of Yeshua came about: Maria his mother was engaged to Yosef. But before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the work of the holy spirit. 19 But Yosef, her husband to be was a good man, and not wishing to disgrace Maria, he decided to quietly divorce her. 20 But as he was pondering this, one of God’s messengers appeared to him in a dream and told him, “Yosef, descendant of King David, don’t to be afraid to marry Maria because the baby in her has been conceived by the holy spirit. 21 [ref]In due course she will have a son and you’ll name him Yeshua, because he will save his people from their sins.”

22 Now all this happened in fulfilment of what the God had said through the prophet, 23 [ref]“Listen, the virgin will get pregnant and she will have a son, and they will call him Immanuel (in Hebrew) which means ‘God with us.’ ”

24 Then Yosef got up and did what God’s messenger had commanded him and he went ahead and married Maria 25 [ref]but he didn’t sleep with her until after she gave birth. And Yosef named the boy Yeshua.

18 And the birth the of_Yaʸsous chosen _one /messiah was thus:
Maria the mother of _him, having _been _betrothed to_ the _Yōsaʸf, before or/than them to _come _together, she _was _found having in womb by the_ holy _spirit.
19 And Yōsaʸf the husband of _her, being righteous and not willing to _expose her, was _counseled to _send_ her _away secretly.
20 But these things having _been _considered of _him, see, an_messenger of_the_master was _seen to _him in a_dream saying:
Yōsaʸf, son of _Dawid, may_ not _be _afraid to _receive Maria the wife of _you, because/for the one in her having _been _born is from the_ holy _spirit.
21 And she _will _be _bearing a_son, and you _will _be _calling the name of _him Yaʸsous, because/for he will _be _saving the people of _him from the sins of _them.
22 And all this has _become, in _order _that the thing having _been _spoken by the_master through the prophet may _be _fulfilled saying, 23 Behold, the virgin will _be _having in womb and will _be _bearing a_son, and they _will _be _calling the name of _him Emmanouaʸl/(ˊImmānū^ʼēl), which is being _translated:
- god With us.
24 And the Yōsaʸf/(Yōşēf) having _been _raised from the sleep, did as the messenger of_the_master commanded to _him, and received the wife of _him, 25 and was_ not _knowing her until of _which she _bore a_son, and he _called the name of _him, Yaʸsous/(Yəhōshūˊa).
