Introduction

The account of Iyyov (but commonly as known as ‘Job’ which is the English evolution of the Germanic adaptation of the Greek adaptation Ἰώβ (Iōb) of his actual Hebrew name ‘אִיּוֹב’.) is an account about a godly man who was struck by a series of tragedies: all his children and their families were killed, all his extensive wealth was lost, and then he was struck with a terrible disease. By means of this seven-part account, the reader is informed about how Iyyov and his friends react concerning those tragedies. Then finally, God reveals himself to Iyyov.

Near the beginning of this document, God is told by Satan that it’s not good governing of his people if he always rewards those who obey him. XXX Therefore there egpangkus of iyan just reason doing of righteous/honest/sensible the people due to gift. And/Now no longer from heart their the making ran of righteous/honest/sensible. And/Now this indeed the said by Satan concerning Iyyov. Therefore allowed of God Satan test the pegkamatinumanen of Iyyov if continue just pad he righteous/honest/sensible if suffers he.

And/Now by means of ancient faith, understood of friends of Iyyov suffered he due to because sinned he. But for to Iyyov, not wishfully correct suffers he of that punishment because righteous/honest/sensible ma he person. Not/None din understood if why of allowed of God eggingumaan he of makaliyas-liyas sickness of righteous/honest/sensible ma he person. Therefore inhanggat din the God go there them of hukumanan. And/Now even pad due, not/none naawei the faith of Iyyov, but desire his eg-ileen he righteous/honest/sensible of God, and accepted din just the kabantug isip righteous/honest/sensible person.

God didn’t answer Iyyov’s questions. But inggehet just of God the faith of Iyyov, by means of power and wisdom/knowledge din. And/Now recognised by Iyyov greatest wise the God, other of humility din, and requested he of forgiveness of nenallalag din from anger din.

The final segment of this account explains how Iyyov was restored to health, peace, and prosperity (all the elements of ‘shalom’/‘שָׁלוֹם’), and how he actually prospered even more than before. It also shows how God was angry at Iyyov’s friends, because they had so much to say when none of them actually knew why Iyyov had suffered—only Iyyov had really sensed that God and his eventual (but eternal) justice is greater than simplistic proverbs and trite beliefs.
