1 Then Samuel took [4] the vial of oil, [3] and he poured it on his head, [2] and he kissed him; [1] the LORD anointed you [3] over his inheritance, [2] to be ruler? [1] |
|||
2 When you depart today [3] from me, [2] by Rachel’s tomb, [3] in the territory of Benjamin, [2] at Zelzah; [1] ‘They have been found, the donkeys [3] which you went to look for, [2] the matter of the donkeys, [2] saying, [2] for my son?” ’ [1] |

11 And when [3] all who knew him [3] from three days before, [2] that behold, with prophets [2] he was prophesying; [1] § to one another, [3] that has happened to the son of Kish? [2] among the prophets?” [1] |

14 and the uncle of Saul said to him [3] and to his servant, [2] “Where did you go?” [1] the donkeys, [2] we went [2] to Samuel.” [1] |

[1] Silluq |
17 And Samuel called together [3] the people, [2] to Mizpah; [1] |

|||
19 But you, this day [4] you have rejected your God [3] from all your calamities and your troubles, [2] ‘No, a king [2] appoint over us.’ [1] present yourselves [3] before the LORD, [2] and by your families.” [1] |
|||
20 So Samuel brought near [2] --- [2] all the tribes of Israel; [1] the tribe of Benjamin. [1] |
|||
21 And he brought near [4] the tribe of Benjamin [3] by its families, [2] the family of the Matrites. [1] Saul the son of Kish; [2] he was not found. [1] |
|||

|||
23 And they ran [3 3] and they took him from there, [2] among the people; [1] than any of the people, [2] and upward. [1] |
|||
24 And Samuel said [4] to all the people, [3] him whom the LORD has chosen, [2] there is no one like him [2] among all the people?” [1] and they said, [2] “May the king live!” [1] ¶ |
|||
25 Then Samuel spoke [4] to the people [3] the rights of the kingship, [2] and he set it [2] before the LORD; [1] all the people, [2] each man to his own house. [1] |
|||
26 And also Saul, [2] he went to his own house [2] to Gibeah; [1] the army, [2] those who God had touched [2] in their heart. [1] |
|||
27 But there were some worthless fellows who said, [3] “What? Will he deliver us [3 3] this one?” [2] and they brought him no [2] tribute; [1] held his peace. [1] ¶ |
