1 כֹּ֥ה הִרְאַ֖נִי [2] Tip'cha
אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וְהִנֵּ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
כְּל֥וּב קָֽיִץ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 1 Thus he showed me, [2]
the Lord GOD; [1]
 
and behold, [2]
a basket of summer fruit. [1]
2 וַיֹּ֗אמֶר [3] Revi'i
מָֽה־אַתָּ֤ה רֹאֶה֙ [3] Pashta
עָמ֔וֹס [2] Zaqef
 
וָאֹמַ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
כְּל֣וּב קָ֑יִץ [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהֹוָ֜ה [4] Geresh
אֵלַ֗י [3] Revi'i
 
בָּ֤א הַקֵּץ֙ [3] Pashta
אֶל־עַמִּ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל [2] Zaqef
 
לֹא־אוֹסִ֥יף ע֖וֹד [2] Tip'cha
עֲב֥וֹר לֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq

“What do you see [3]
Amos?” [2]
 
And I said, [2]
“A basket of summer fruit.” [1]
 
And the LORD said [4]
to me, [3]
 
“The end has come [3]
to my people Israel. [2]
 
I will no longer [2]
pass by them. [1]
3 וְהֵילִ֜ילוּ [4] Geresh
שִׁיר֤וֹת הֵיכָל֙ [3] Pashta
בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֔וּא [2] Zaqef
 
נְאֻ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
רַ֣ב הַפֶּ֔גֶר [2] Zaqef
בְּכׇל־מָק֖וֹם [2] Tip'cha
הִשְׁלִ֥יךְ הָֽס׃ [1] Silluq

songs of the temple [3]
in that day,” [2]
 
says [2]
the Lord GOD; [1]
 
“Many will be the dead bodies. [2]
In every place [2]
they will be thrown out in silence. [1]
4 שִׁמְעוּ־זֹ֕את [2] ZaqefG
הַשֹּׁאֲפִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
אֶבְי֑וֹן [1] Etnachta
 
וְלַשְׁבִּ֖ית [2] Tip'cha
*ענוי **עֲנִיֵּי־אָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq

who trample on [2]
the needy; [1]
 
and put an end to [2]
the poor of the land, [1]
5 לֵאמֹ֗ר [3] Revi'i
 
מָתַ֞י [4] Gershayim
יַעֲבֹ֤ר הַחֹ֙דֶשׁ֙ [3 3] Pashta
וְנַשְׁבִּ֣ירָה שֶּׁ֔בֶר [2] Zaqef
 
וְהַשַּׁבָּ֖ת [2] Tip'cha
וְנִפְתְּחָה־בָּ֑ר [1] Etnachta
 
לְהַקְטִ֤ין אֵיפָה֙ [3] Pashta
וּלְהַגְדִּ֣יל שֶׁ֔קֶל [2] Zaqef
 
וּלְעַוֵּ֖ת [2] Tip'cha
מֹאזְנֵ֥י מִרְמָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

‘When [4]
will the new moon pass, [3 3]
that we may sell grain? [2]
 
And the Sabbath [2]
that we may market grain; [1]
 
making the efah small [3]
and making the shekel large, [2]
 
and dealing falsely [2]
with balances of deceit, [1]
6 לִקְנ֤וֹת בַּכֶּ֙סֶף֙ [3 3] Pashta
דַּלִּ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
וְאֶבְי֖וֹן [2] Tip'cha
בַּעֲב֣וּר נַעֲלָ֑יִם [1] Etnachta
 
וּמַפַּ֥ל בַּ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
נַשְׁבִּֽיר׃ [1] Silluq

the poor, [2]
 
and the needy [2]
for a pair of sandals; [1]
 
and the sweepings of grain [2]
we will sell as grain?’ ” [1]
7 נִשְׁבַּ֥ע יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
בִּגְא֣וֹן יַעֲקֹ֑ב [1] Etnachta
 
אִם־אֶשְׁכַּ֥ח לָנֶ֖צַח [2] Tip'cha
כׇּל־מַעֲשֵׂיהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 7 The LORD has sworn [2]
by the pride of Jacob; [1]
 
“Surely I will never forget [2]
any of their deeds. [1]
8 הַ֤עַל זֹאת֙ [3] Pashta
לֹא־תִרְגַּ֣ז הָאָ֔רֶץ [2] Zaqef
 
וְאָבַ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
כׇּל־יוֹשֵׁ֣ב בָּ֑הּ [1] Etnachta
 
וְעָלְתָ֤ה כָאֹר֙ [3] Pashta
כֻּלָּ֔הּ [2] Zaqef
 
וְנִגְרְשָׁ֥ה *ונשקה **וְנִשְׁקְעָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
כִּיא֥וֹר מִצְרָֽיִם׃ [1] Silluq

won’t the land tremble, [2]
 
and he will mourn [2]
everyone who dwells in it? [1]
 
And it will rise like the River, [3]
all of it, [2]
 
and it will be tossed and it will sink [2]
like the River of Egypt. [1]
9 וְהָיָ֣ה ׀ [4] Legarmeh
בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא [3] Revi'i
 
נְאֻם֙ [3] Pashta
אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
וְהֵבֵאתִ֥י הַשֶּׁ֖מֶשׁ [2] Tip'cha
בַּֽצׇּהֳרָ֑יִם [1] Etnachta
 
וְהַחֲשַׁכְתִּ֥י לָאָ֖רֶץ [2] Tip'cha
בְּי֥וֹם אֽוֹר׃ [1] Silluq

on that day,” [3]

the Lord GOD, [2]
 
“that I will cause the sun to go down [2]
at noon; [1]
 
and I will make the earth dark [2]
on a clear day. [1]
10 וְהָפַכְתִּ֨י חַגֵּיכֶ֜ם [4] Geresh
לְאֵ֗בֶל [3] Revi'i
 
וְכׇל־שִֽׁירֵיכֶם֙ [3] Pashta
לְקִינָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
וְהַעֲלֵיתִ֤י עַל־כׇּל־מׇתְנַ֙יִם֙ [3 3] Pashta
שָׂ֔ק [2] Zaqef
 
וְעַל־כׇּל־רֹ֖אשׁ [2] Tip'cha
קׇרְחָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וְשַׂמְתִּ֙יהָ֙ [3 3] Pashta
כְּאֵ֣בֶל יָחִ֔יד [2] Zaqef
 
וְאַחֲרִיתָ֖הּ [2] Tip'cha
כְּי֥וֹם מָֽר׃ [1] Silluq

into mourning, [3]
 
and all your songs [3]
into lamentation, [2]
 
and I will put on all your bodies [3 3]
sackcloth, [2]
 
and on every head [2]
baldness; [1]
 
and I will make it [3 3]
like mourning for an only son, [2]
 
and its end [2]
like a bitter day. [1]
11 הִנֵּ֣ה ׀ [4] Legarmeh
יָמִ֣ים בָּאִ֗ים [3] Revi'i
 
נְאֻם֙ [3] Pashta
אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
וְהִשְׁלַחְתִּ֥י רָעָ֖ב [2] Tip'cha
בָּאָ֑רֶץ [1] Etnachta
 
לֹא־רָעָ֤ב לַלֶּ֙חֶם֙ [3 3] Pashta
וְלֹֽא־צָמָ֣א לַמַּ֔יִם [2] Zaqef
 
כִּ֣י אִם־לִשְׁמֹ֔עַ [2] Zaqef
אֵ֖ת [2] Tip'cha
דִּבְרֵ֥י יְהֹוָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

days are coming,” [3]
 
says [3]
the Lord GOD, [2]
 
“that I will send a famine [2]
on the land; [1]
 
not a famine for bread [3 3]
and not a thirst for water, [2]
 
but for hearing [2]

the words of the LORD. [1]
12 וְנָעוּ֙ [3] Pashta
מִיָּ֣ם עַד־יָ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
וּמִצָּפ֖וֹן [2] Tip'cha
וְעַד־מִזְרָ֑ח [1] Etnachta
 
יְשׁ֥וֹטְט֛וּ [3] Tevir
לְבַקֵּ֥שׁ אֶת־דְּבַר־יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
וְלֹ֥א יִמְצָֽאוּ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 12 And they will wander [3]
from sea to sea, [2]
 
and from the north [2]
and to the east; [1]
 
they will run back and forth [3]
to seek the word of the LORD, [2]
and they will not find (it). [1]
13 בַּיּ֨וֹם הַה֜וּא [4] Geresh
תִּ֠תְעַלַּ֠פְנָה [4 4] TelishaG
הַבְּתוּלֹ֧ת הַיָּפ֛וֹת [3] Tevir
וְהַבַּחוּרִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
 
בַּצָּמָֽא׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 4 13 In that day [4]
they will faint, [4 4]
the beautiful virgins, [3]
and the young men, [2]
 
for thirst. [1]
14 הַנִּשְׁבָּעִים֙ [3] Pashta
בְּאַשְׁמַ֣ת שֹֽׁמְר֔וֹן [2] Zaqef
 
וְאָמְר֗וּ [3] Revi'i
חֵ֤י אֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙ [3 3] Pashta
דָּ֔ן [2] Zaqef
 
וְחֵ֖י [2] Tip'cha
דֶּ֣רֶךְ בְּאֵֽר־שָׁ֑בַע [1] Etnachta
 
וְנָפְל֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
וְלֹא־יָק֥וּמוּ עֽוֹד׃ [1] Silluq

by the guilt of Samaria, [2]
 
they will say, [3]
‘By the life of your gods [3 3]
O Dan,’ [2]
 
and, ‘by the life [2]
of the way of Beersheba,’ [1]
 
and they will fall, [2]
and they will not rise again.” [1]
