but he will stumble and he will fall, [2]

they will destroy him, [2]
and his army will be swept away; [1]

the slain will be many. [1]

לְבָבָ֣ם לְמֵרָ֔ע [2] Zaqef
 
וְעַל־שֻׁלְחָ֥ן אֶחָ֖ד [2] Tip'cha

וְלֹ֣א תִצְלָ֔ח [2] Zaqef
כִּי־ע֥וֹד קֵ֖ץ [2] Tip'cha

their hearts will be bent on evil, [2]

וְכָאַחֲרוֹנָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 29 At the appointed time he will return [2]
and he will come into the south; [1]
 
but not like it was previously [2]
will it be this time. [1]
30 וּבָ֨אוּ ב֜וֹ [4] Geresh
צִיִּ֤ים כִּתִּים֙ [3] Pashta
וְנִכְאָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
וְשָׁ֛ב [3] Tevir
וְזָעַ֥ם עַל־בְּרִֽית־ק֖וֹדֶשׁ [2] Tip'cha
וְעָשָׂ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וְשָׁ֣ב וְיָבֵ֔ן [2] Zaqef
עַל־עֹזְבֵ֖י [2] Tip'cha
בְּרִ֥ית קֹֽדֶשׁ׃ [1] Silluq

the ships of Kittim, [3]
and he will be disheartened, [2]
 
so he will turn back [3]
and he will direct indignation against the holy covenant, [2]
and he will act; [1]
 
when he turns back he will show favor [2]
to those who forsake [2]
the holy covenant. [1]
31 וּזְרֹעִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
מִמֶּ֣נּוּ יַעֲמֹ֑דוּ [1] Etnachta
 
וְחִלְּל֞וּ [4] Gershayim
הַמִּקְדָּ֤שׁ הַמָּעוֹז֙ [3] Pashta
וְהֵסִ֣ירוּ הַתָּמִ֔יד [2] Zaqef
 
וְנָתְנ֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
הַשִּׁקּ֥וּץ מְשֹׁמֵֽם׃ [1] Silluq

from him they will arise; [1]
 
and they will profane [4]
the sanctuary, the stronghold, [3]
and they will do away with the daily sacrifices, [2]
 
and they will set up [2]
the desolating abomination. [1]
32 וּמַרְשִׁיעֵ֣י בְרִ֔ית [2] Zaqef
יַחֲנִ֖יף [2] Tip'cha
בַּחֲלַקּ֑וֹת [1] Etnachta
 
וְעַ֛ם [3] Tevir
יֹדְעֵ֥י אֱלֹהָ֖יו [2] Tip'cha
יַחֲזִ֥קוּ וְעָשֽׂוּ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 3 32 And those who act wickedly against the covenant [2]
he will seduce [2]
with flattering words; [1]
 
but the people [3]
who know their God, [2]
they will be strong and they will take action. [1]
33 וּמַשְׂכִּ֣ילֵי עָ֔ם [2] Zaqef
יָבִ֖ינוּ [2] Tip'cha
לָֽרַבִּ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
וְנִכְשְׁל֞וּ [4] Gershayim
בְּחֶ֧רֶב וּבְלֶהָבָ֛ה [3] Tevir
בִּשְׁבִ֥י וּבְבִזָּ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
יָמִֽים׃ [1] Silluq

they will give understanding [2]
to many; [1]
 
yet they will stumble [4]
by sword and by flame, [3]
by captivity and by plunder [2]

יֵעָזְר֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
עֵ֣זֶר מְעָ֑ט [1] Etnachta
 
וְנִלְו֧וּ עֲלֵיהֶ֛ם [3] Tevir
רַבִּ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
בַּחֲלַקְלַקּֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq

they will be helped [2]
with a little help; [1]
 
but they will join themselves to them, [3]
many, [2]
by flatteries. [1]
35 וּמִן־הַמַּשְׂכִּילִ֣ים יִכָּֽשְׁל֗וּ [3] Revi'i
לִצְר֥וֹף בָּהֶ֛ם [3] Tevir
וּלְבָרֵ֥ר וְלַלְבֵּ֖ן [2] Tip'cha
עַד־עֵ֣ת קֵ֑ץ [1] Etnachta
 
כִּי־ע֖וֹד [2] Tip'cha
לַמּוֹעֵֽד׃ [1] Silluq

to be refined [3]
and purified and made white, [2]

הַזָּהָ֣ב וְהַכֶּ֔סֶף [2] Zaqef

חֲמֻד֣וֹת מִצְרָ֑יִם [1] Etnachta
 
וְלֻבִ֥ים וְכֻשִׁ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
בְּמִצְעָדָֽיו׃ [1] Silluq

over the treasures [3]
of gold and of silver, [2]

וּמִצָּפ֑וֹן [1] Etnachta

בְּחֵמָ֣א גְדֹלָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
לְהַשְׁמִ֥יד וּֽלְהַחֲרִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
