8 And also their gods, [4] with their cast metal images and their precious vessels [4] of silver and gold, [3] into captivity [2] for some years he will stay [2] of the north. [1] |

15 So he will come, [3] the king of the north, [2] a mound [2] a fortified city; [1] they will not stand, [2] of his choicest troops [2] to stand. [1] |

16 But the one who comes against him will do [3] as he pleases, [2] before him; [1] and destruction will be in his hand. [1] |

17 And he will set [4] his face [4 4] to come [4] with the strength of all his kingdom, [3] he will give him to corrupt her, [2] and she will not be for him. [1] |

24 Peaceably [4] and in the prosperous parts of the province [3] he will come, [2] that which his fathers have not done [3] or his fathers’ fathers, [2] and possessions [2] he will distribute among them; [1] he will devise his plans [2] for a time. [1] |

25 וְיָעֵר֩ כֹּח֨וֹ וּלְבָב֜וֹ [4] Geresh עַל־מֶ֣לֶךְ הַנֶּ֘גֶב֮ [3 3] Zarqa בְּחַ֣יִל גָּדוֹל֒ [2] Segol יִתְגָּרֶה֙ [3] Pashta לַמִּלְחָמָ֔ה [2] Zaqef עַד־מְאֹ֑ד [1] Etnachta כִּֽי־יַחְשְׁב֥וּ עָלָ֖יו [2] Tip'cha מַחֲשָׁבֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq |
25 Then he will stir up his strength and his courage [4] against the king of the south [3 3] with a great army, [2] he will prepare [3] for battle [2] exceedingly; [1] for they will devise against him [2] schemes. [1] |

26 וְאֹכְלֵ֧י פַת־בָּג֛וֹ [3] Tevir יִשְׁבְּר֖וּהוּ [2] Tip'cha וְחֵיל֣וֹ יִשְׁט֑וֹף [1] Etnachta חֲלָלִ֥ים רַבִּֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
26 And those who eat bread with him, [3] they will destroy him, [2] and his army will be swept away; [1] the slain will be many. [1] |

27 וּשְׁנֵיהֶ֤ם הַמְּלָכִים֙ [3] Pashta לְבָבָ֣ם לְמֵרָ֔ע [2] Zaqef כָּזָ֣ב יְדַבֵּ֑רוּ [1] Etnachta כִּי־ע֥וֹד קֵ֖ץ [2] Tip'cha לַמּוֹעֵֽד׃ [1] Silluq |
27 And the two kings, [3] their hearts will be bent on evil, [2] they will speak lies; [1] for still the end [2] will be at the appointed time. [1] |

30 For they will come against him, [4] the ships of Kittim, [3] and he will be disheartened, [2] and he will direct indignation against the holy covenant, [2] and he will act; [1] to those who forsake [2] the holy covenant. [1] |

31 And forces, [2] from him they will arise; [1] the sanctuary, the stronghold, [3] and they will do away with the daily sacrifices, [2] the desolating abomination. [1] |

32 And those who act wickedly against the covenant [2] he will seduce [2] with flattering words; [1] who know their God, [2] they will be strong and they will take action. [1] |

33 “And the wise among the people, [2] they will give understanding [2] to many; [1] by sword and by flame, [3] by captivity and by plunder [2] for some days. [1] |

34 Now when they stumble [2] they will be helped [2] with a little help; [1] many, [2] by flatteries. [1] |

35 וּמִן־הַמַּשְׂכִּילִ֣ים יִכָּֽשְׁל֗וּ [3] Revi'i לִצְר֥וֹף בָּהֶ֛ם [3] Tevir וּלְבָרֵ֥ר וְלַלְבֵּ֖ן [2] Tip'cha עַד־עֵ֣ת קֵ֑ץ [1] Etnachta לַמּוֹעֵֽד׃ [1] Silluq |
35 And some of the wise will stumble, [3] to be refined [3] and purified and made white, [2] until the time of the end; [1] for the appointed time. [1] |

37 And for the gods of his fathers [3] he will show no regard, [2] or for any god, [2] he will show no regard; [1] he will exalt himself. [1] |

38 But a god [3 3] of fortresses, [2] he will honor; [1] which his fathers didn’t know, [3] with gold and with silver [3] and with precious stones, [2] |

39 And he will act [4] for the fortresses of strongholds [3] with a foreign god, [2] he will increase with honor; [1] over many, [2] he will divide up for a price. [1] |

41 And he will come [3] into the beautiful land, [2] they will fall; [1] they will escape from his hand, [2] and the chief [2] of the sons of Ammon. [1] |

42 And he will stretch out his hand [2] against lands; [1] it will not [2] escape. [1] |

43 וּמָשַׁ֗ל [3] Revi'i בְּמִכְמַנֵּי֙ [3] Pashta הַזָּהָ֣ב וְהַכֶּ֔סֶף [2] Zaqef חֲמֻד֣וֹת מִצְרָ֑יִם [1] Etnachta בְּמִצְעָדָֽיו׃ [1] Silluq |
43 And he will gain control [3] over the treasures [3] of gold and of silver, [2] the precious things of Egypt; [1] will be under his feet. [1] |
