1 Nebuchadnezzar the king, [3] he made [3] an image of gold, [2] was sixty cubits, [2] six cubits; [1] on the plain of Dura [2] of Babylon. [1] |

4 Then the herald [2] proclaimed loudly; [1] O peoples [2] and languages, [1] |

6 וּמַן־דִּי־לָ֥א יִפֵּ֖ל [2] Tip'cha וְיִסְגֻּ֑ד [1] Etnachta לְגֽוֹא־אַתּ֥וּן נוּרָ֖א [2] Tip'cha יָקִֽדְתָּֽא׃ [1] Silluq |
6 And whoever doesn’t fall down [2] and worship; [1] into the midst of a furnace of fire [2] blazing.” [1] |

7 Therefore [4] at the time [4] when all the peoples heard [4] the sound of the horn, the flute, [4] zither, lyre, [3] kinds of music; [1] the nations, and the languages, [3] to the golden image [2] Nebuchadnezzar the king. [1] |

8 Therefore [3] at that time [2] certain Chaldean men; [1] the Jews. [1] |

12 אִיתַ֞י [4] Gershayim גֻּבְרִ֣ין יְהוּדָאיִ֗ן [3] Revi'i עַל־עֲבִידַת֙ [3] Pashta מְדִינַ֣ת בָּבֶ֔ל [2] Zaqef וַעֲבֵ֣ד נְג֑וֹ [1] Etnachta לָא־שָׂ֨מֽוּ *עליך **עֲלָ֤ךְ מַלְכָּא֙ [3] Pashta טְעֵ֔ם [2] Zaqef לָ֣א פָלְחִ֔ין [2] Zaqef דִּ֥י הֲקֵ֖ימְתָּ [2] Tip'cha לָ֥א סָגְדִֽין׃ [1] Silluq |
12 There [4] are certain Jews [3] over the administration [3] of the province of Babylon, [2] and Abednego; [1] they have not given you O king [3] respect, [2] they are not paying reverence, [2] which you have set up [2] they are not giving worship.” [1] |

13 Then Nebuchadnezzar [3] in rage and fury, [2] to be brought [2] and Abednego; [1] these men, [2] before the king. [1] |

14 עָנֵ֤ה נְבֽוּכַדְנֶצַּר֙ [3] Pashta וְאָמַ֣ר לְה֔וֹן [2] Zaqef שַׁדְרַ֥ךְ מֵישַׁ֖ךְ [2] Tip'cha וַעֲבֵ֣ד נְג֑וֹ [1] Etnachta לָ֤א אִֽיתֵיכוֹן֙ [3] Pashta פָּֽלְחִ֔ין [2] Zaqef דִּ֥י הֲקֵ֖ימֶת [2] Tip'cha לָ֥א סָֽגְדִֽין׃ [1] Silluq |
14 Nebuchadnezzar answered [3] and said to them, [2] O Shadrach, Meshach, [2] and Abednego; [1] you are not [3] paying reverence, [2] which I have set up [2] you are not giving worship? [1] |

15 Now [4] if you are ready, [3] that you hear [4] the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, [4] harp, and pipe, [4] and all [4] kinds of music, [3] to the image which I have made, [2] you do not worship, [2] into the midst of a fiery furnace [2] blazing; [1] who can deliver you [2] from my hands?” [1] |

16 They answered, [3] Shadrach, Meshach, [3] and Abednego, [2] to the king; [1] matter [2] to answer you. [1] |

17 הֵ֣ן אִיתַ֗י [3] Revi'i אֱלָהַ֙נָא֙ [3 3] Pashta דִּֽי־אֲנַ֣חְנָא פָֽלְחִ֔ין [2] Zaqef לְשֵׁיזָבוּתַ֑נָא [1] Etnachta וּמִן־יְדָ֥ךְ מַלְכָּ֖א [2] Tip'cha יְשֵׁיזִֽב׃ [1] Silluq |
17 If it be so, [3] our God [3 3] whom we serve [2] to deliver us; [1] and from your hand O king, [2] he will deliver. [1] |

18 וְהֵ֣ן לָ֔א [2] Zaqef יְדִ֥יעַ לֶהֱוֵא־לָ֖ךְ [2] Tip'cha מַלְכָּ֑א [1] Etnachta לָא־*איתינא **אִיתַ֣נָא פָֽלְחִ֔ין [2] Zaqef דִּ֥י הֲקֵ֖ימְתָּ [2] Tip'cha לָ֥א נִסְגֻּֽד׃ [1] Silluq פ |
18 But if not, [2] let it be known to you [2] O king; [1] we will not pay reverence, [2] which you have set up, [2] we will not give worship.” [1] ¶ |

19 בֵּאדַ֨יִן נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֜ר [4] Geresh הִתְמְלִ֣י חֱמָ֗א [3] Revi'i *אשתנו **אֶשְׁתַּנִּ֔י [2] Zaqef וַעֲבֵ֣ד נְג֑וֹ [1] Etnachta לְמֵזֵ֣א לְאַתּוּנָ֔א [2] Zaqef דִּ֥י חֲזֵ֖ה [2] Tip'cha לְמֵזְיֵֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq |
19 Then Nebuchadnezzar [4] was full of fury, [3] it was changed [2] and Abednego; [1] the furnace be heated [2] what was normal [2] to heat it. [1] |

20 וּלְגֻבְרִ֤ין גִּבָּֽרֵי־חַ֙יִל֙ [3 3] Pashta דִּ֣י בְחַיְלֵ֔הּ [2] Zaqef לְכַפָּתָ֔ה [2] Zaqef וַעֲבֵ֣ד נְג֑וֹ [1] Etnachta לְאַתּ֥וּן נוּרָ֖א [2] Tip'cha יָקִֽדְתָּֽא׃ [1] Silluq |
20 And to strong mighty men [3 3] who were in his army [2] to bind [2] and Abednego; [1] into the fiery furnace [2] blazing. [1] |

21 בֵּאדַ֜יִן [4] Geresh גֻּבְרַיָּ֣א אִלֵּ֗ךְ [3] Revi'i בְּסַרְבָּלֵיהוֹן֙ [3] Pashta *פטישיהון **פַּטְּשֵׁיה֔וֹן [2] Zaqef וּלְבֻשֵׁיה֑וֹן [1] Etnachta לְגֽוֹא־אַתּ֥וּן נוּרָ֖א [2] Tip'cha יָקִֽדְתָּֽא׃ [1] Silluq |
21 Then [4] these men, [3] in their robes, [3] their tunics, [2] and their other clothes; [1] into the midst of the fiery furnace [2] blazing. [1] |

22 כׇּל־קֳבֵ֣ל דְּנָ֗ה [3] Revi'i מִלַּ֤ת מַלְכָּא֙ [3] Pashta מַחְצְפָ֔ה [2] Zaqef אֵזֵ֣ה יַתִּ֑ירָה [1] Etnachta דִּ֤י הַסִּ֙קוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta לְשַׁדְרַ֤ךְ מֵישַׁךְ֙ [3] Pashta וַעֲבֵ֣ד נְג֔וֹ [2] Zaqef שְׁבִיבָ֖א [2] Tip'cha דִּ֥י נוּרָֽא׃ [1] Silluq |
22 Therefore [3] the word of the king [3] was urgent, [2] exceedingly hot; [1] who took up [3 3] Shadrach, Meshach, [3] and Abednego, [2] the flame [2] of the fire. [1] |

23 וְגֻבְרַיָּ֤א אִלֵּךְ֙ [3] Pashta תְּלָ֣תֵּה֔וֹן [2] Zaqef וַעֲבֵ֣ד נְג֑וֹ [1] Etnachta לְגֽוֹא־אַתּוּן־נוּרָ֥א יָֽקִדְתָּ֖א [2] Tip'cha מְכַפְּתִֽין׃ [1] Silluq פ |
23 And these men [3] the three of them, [2] and Abednego; [1] into the midst of the blazing fiery furnace [2] bound. [1] ¶ |

24 Then [3 3] Nebuchadnezzar the king, [2] and he arose in haste; [1] to his counselors, [3] we threw into the midst of the fire, [3] bound?” [2] to the king, [2] O king.” [1] |

25 עָנֵ֣ה וְאָמַ֗ר [3] Revi'i גֻּבְרִ֣ין אַרְבְּעָ֗ה [3] Revi'i מַהְלְכִ֣ין בְּגֽוֹא־נוּרָ֔א [2] Zaqef לָא־אִיתַ֣י בְּה֑וֹן [1] Etnachta דִּ֣י *רביעיא **רְֽבִיעָאָ֔ה [2] Zaqef לְבַר־אֱלָהִֽין׃ [1] Silluq |
25 He answered and said, [3] four men, [3] walking in the midst of the fire, [2] there is none on them; [1] of the fourth [2] a son of the gods.” [1] |

26 בֵּאדַ֜יִן [4] Geresh קְרֵ֣ב נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֗ר [3] Revi'i אַתּ֣וּן נוּרָ֣א יָקִֽדְתָּא֒ [2] Segol שַׁדְרַ֨ךְ מֵישַׁ֧ךְ וַעֲבֵד־נְג֛וֹ [3] Tevir עַבְד֛וֹהִי [3] Tevir דִּֽי־אֱלָהָ֥א *עליא **עִלָּאָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha שַׁדְרַ֥ךְ מֵישַׁ֛ךְ [3] Tevir וַעֲבֵ֥ד נְג֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha מִן־גּ֥וֹא נוּרָֽא׃ [1] Silluq |
26 Then [4] Nebuchadnezzar came near [3] of the blazing fiery furnace. [2] “O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, [3] servants [3] of God the Most High, [2] Shadrach, Meshach, [3] and Abednego [2] from the midst of the fire, [1] |

27 וּ֠מִֽתְכַּנְּשִׁ֠ין [4 4] TelishaG אֲחַשְׁדַּרְפְּנַיָּ֞א [4] Gershayim סִגְנַיָּ֣א וּפַחֲוָתָא֮ [3] Zarqa וְהַדָּבְרֵ֣י מַלְכָּא֒ [2] Segol דִּי֩ לָֽא־שְׁלֵ֨ט נוּרָ֜א [4] Geresh בְּגֶשְׁמְה֗וֹן [3] Revi'i לָ֣א הִתְחָרַ֔ךְ [2] Zaqef לָ֣א שְׁנ֑וֹ [1] Etnachta לָ֥א עֲדָ֖ת [2] Tip'cha בְּהֽוֹן׃ [1] Silluq |
27 and gathered together [4 4] the satraps, [4] the prefects and the governors, [3] and the counselors of the king, [2] that the fire had had no power [4] over their body, [3] it was not singed, [2] they were not damaged; [1] it had not come [2] upon them. [1] |

28 עָנֵ֨ה נְבֽוּכַדְנֶצַּ֜ר [4] Geresh וְאָמַ֗ר [3] Revi'i דִּֽי־שַׁדְרַ֤ךְ מֵישַׁךְ֙ [3] Pashta וַעֲבֵ֣ד נְג֔וֹ [2] Zaqef וְשֵׁיזִ֣ב לְעַבְד֔וֹהִי [2] Zaqef עֲל֑וֹהִי [1] Etnachta שַׁנִּ֔יו [2] Zaqef לָֽא־יִפְלְח֤וּן וְלָֽא־יִסְגְּדוּן֙ [3] Pashta לְכׇל־אֱלָ֔הּ [2] Zaqef לֵאלָֽהֲהֽוֹן׃ [1] Silluq |
28 Nebuchadnezzar answered [4] and he said, [3] of Shadrach, Meshach, [3] and Abednego, [2] and he has delivered his servants [2] in him; [1] they defied, [2] they will not serve and they will not give worship [3] to any god [2] to their own God. [1] |

29 וּמִנִּי֮ [3] Zarqa שִׂ֣ים טְעֵם֒ [2] Segol וְלִשָּׁ֗ן [3] Revi'i עַ֣ל אֱלָהֲה֗וֹן [3] Revi'i דִּֽי־שַׁדְרַ֤ךְ מֵישַׁךְ֙ [3] Pashta וַעֲבֵ֣ד נְג֔וֹא [2] Zaqef וּבַיְתֵ֖הּ [2] Tip'cha נְוָלִ֣י יִשְׁתַּוֵּ֑ה [1] Etnachta דִּ֣י לָ֤א אִיתַי֙ [3] Pashta אֱלָ֣הּ אׇחֳרָ֔ן [2] Zaqef כִּדְנָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
29 Therefore from me [3] is made a decree, [2] or language [3] against the God [3] of Shadrach, Meshach, [3] and Abednego [2] and his house, [2] it shall be made a pile of rubble; [1] there is not [3] any other god [2] like this.” [1] |

2 The signs [3] and the wonders [2] he has done for me, [2] the Most High; [1] to declare. [1] |

3 His signs [3 3] are so great, [2] so mighty; [1] is an everlasting kingdom, [2] endures from generation to generation. [1] |
