	¹כִּ֣י אֶת־כׇּל־זֶ֞ה [4] Gershayim נָתַ֤תִּי אֶל־לִבִּי֙ [3] Pashta וְלָב֣וּר אֶת־כׇּל־זֶ֔ה [2] Zaqef אֲשֶׁ֨ר הַצַּדִּיקִ֧ים וְהַחֲכָמִ֛ים [3] Tevir וַעֲבָדֵיהֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha בְּיַ֣ד הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים [1] Etnachta גַּֽם־אַהֲבָ֣ה גַם־שִׂנְאָ֗ה [3] Revi'i אֵ֤ין יוֹדֵ֙עַ֙ [3 3] Pashta הָֽאָדָ֔ם [2] Zaqef הַכֹּ֖ל [2] Tip'cha לִפְנֵיהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq		¹But all this [4] I laid to my heart [3] and pondered all this, [2] that the righteous and the wise [3] and their deeds [2] are in the hand of God; [1] whether love or hatred [3] knows not [3 3] man, [2] all [2] awaits them. [1]
	²הַכֹּ֞ל [4] Gershayim כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר לַכֹּ֗ל [3] Revi'i מִקְרֶ֨ה אֶחָ֜ד [4] Geresh לַצַּדִּ֤יק וְלָרָשָׁע֙ [3] Pashta לַטּוֹב֙ [3] Pashta וְלַטָּה֣וֹר וְלַטָּמֵ֔א [2] Zaqef וְלַ֨זֹּבֵ֔חַ [2] Zaqef וְלַאֲשֶׁ֖ר [2] Tip'cha אֵינֶ֣נּוּ זֹבֵ֑חַ [1] Etnachta כַּטּוֹב֙ [3] Pashta כַּֽחֹטֶ֔א [2] Zaqef הַנִּשְׁבָּ֕ע [2] ZaqefG כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר [2] Tip'cha שְׁבוּעָ֥ה יָרֵֽא׃ [1] Silluq		²All [4] is just as to all, [3] one fate [4] to the righteous and to the wicked, [3] to the good [3] and to the clean and to the unclean, [2] and to the one who sacrifices [2] and to one who [2] doesn’t sacrifice; [1] as is the good, [3] so is the sinner, [2] the one who swears an oath, [2] just as [2] one fearing an oath. [1]
	³זֶ֣ה ׀ [4] Legarmeh רָ֗ע [3] Revi'i בְּכֹ֤ל אֲשֶֽׁר־נַעֲשָׂה֙ [3] Pashta תַּ֣חַת הַשֶּׁ֔מֶשׁ [2] Zaqef כִּֽי־מִקְרֶ֥ה אֶחָ֖ד [2] Tip'cha לַכֹּ֑ל [1] Etnachta וְגַ֣ם לֵ֣ב בְּֽנֵי־הָ֠אָדָ֠ם [4 4] TelishaG מָלֵא־רָ֨ע וְהוֹלֵל֤וֹת בִּלְבָבָם֙ [3] Pashta בְּחַיֵּיהֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef וְאַחֲרָ֖יו [2] Tip'cha אֶל־הַמֵּתִֽים׃ [1] Silluq		³This [4] is an evil [3] in all that is done [3] under the sun, [2] that one fate [2] belongs to all; [1] and also the heart of the sons of men [4 4] is full of evil with madness in their heart [3] while they live, [2] and after it, [2] to the dead. [1]
	⁴כִּי־מִי֙ [3] Pashta אֲשֶׁ֣ר יבחר *יְחֻבַּ֔ר [2] Zaqef אֶ֥ל כׇּל־הַחַיִּ֖ים [2] Tip'cha יֵ֣שׁ בִּטָּח֑וֹן [1] Etnachta כִּֽי־לְכֶ֤לֶב חַי֙ [3] Pashta ה֣וּא ט֔וֹב [2] Zaqef מִן־הָאַרְיֵ֖ה [2] Tip'cha הַמֵּֽת׃ [1] Silluq		⁴But whoever [3] is the one who is joined [2] to all the living [2] has hope; [1] for to a living dog [3] it is better [2] than a lion [2] that is dead. [1]
	⁵כִּ֧י הַֽחַיִּ֛ים [3] Tevir יוֹדְעִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha שֶׁיָּמֻ֑תוּ [1] Etnachta וְהַמֵּתִ֞ים [4] Gershayim אֵינָ֧ם יוֹדְעִ֣ים מְא֗וּמָה [3] Revi'i וְאֵֽין־ע֤וֹד לָהֶם֙ [3] Pashta שָׂכָ֔ר [2] Zaqef כִּ֥י נִשְׁכַּ֖ח [2] Tip'cha זִכְרָֽם׃ [1] Silluq		⁵For the living [3] know [2] that they will die; [1] but the dead, [4] they know nothing, [3] and no longer do they have [3] a reward, [2] for it is forgotten, [2] the memory of them. [1]
	⁶גַּ֣ם אַהֲבָתָ֧ם גַּם־שִׂנְאָתָ֛ם [3] Tevir גַּם־קִנְאָתָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha כְּבָ֣ר אָבָ֑דָה [1] Etnachta וְחֵ֨לֶק אֵין־לָהֶ֥ם עוֹד֙ [3] Pashta לְעוֹלָ֔ם [2] Zaqef בְּכֹ֥ל אֲשֶֽׁר־נַעֲשָׂ֖ה [2] Tip'cha תַּ֥חַת הַשָּֽׁמֶשׁ׃ [1] Silluq		⁶And their love and their hatred [3] and their envy, [2] it has already perished; [1] and they no longer have a share [3] ever again [2] in anything that is done [2] under the sun. [1]
	⁷לֵ֣ךְ אֱכֹ֤ל בְּשִׂמְחָה֙ [3] Pashta לַחְמֶ֔ךָ [2] Zaqef וּֽשְׁתֵ֥ה בְלֶב־ט֖וֹב [2] Tip'cha יֵינֶ֑ךָ [1] Etnachta כִּ֣י כְבָ֔ר [2] Zaqef רָצָ֥ה הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha אֶֽת־מַעֲשֶֽׂיךָ׃ [1] Silluq		⁷Go eat with gladness [3] your bread, [2] and drink with a merry heart [2] your wine; [1] for already [2] God has accepted [2] your deeds. [1]
	⁸בְּכׇל־עֵ֕ת [2] ZaqefG יִהְי֥וּ בְגָדֶ֖יךָ [2] Tip'cha לְבָנִ֑ים [1] Etnachta וְשֶׁ֖מֶן [2] Tip'cha עַל־רֹאשְׁךָ֥ אַל־יֶחְסָֽר׃ [1] Silluq		⁸Always [2] let your clothes be [2] white; [1] and oil, [2] on your head let it not be lacking. [1]
	⁹רְאֵ֨ה חַיִּ֜ים [4] Geresh עִם־אִשָּׁ֣ה אֲשֶׁר־אָהַ֗בְתָּ [3] Revi'i כׇּל־יְמֵי֙ [3] Pashta חַיֵּ֣י הֶבְלֶ֔ךָ [2] Zaqef אֲשֶׁ֤ר נָֽתַן־לְךָ֙ [3] Pashta תַּ֣חַת הַשֶּׁ֔מֶשׁ [2] Zaqef כֹּ֖ל [2] Tip'cha יְמֵ֣י הֶבְלֶ֑ךָ [1] Etnachta כִּ֣י ה֤וּא חֶלְקְךָ֙ [3] Pashta בַּֽחַיִּ֔ים [2] Zaqef וּבַעֲמָ֣לְךָ֔ [2] Zaqef אֲשֶׁר־אַתָּ֥ה עָמֵ֖ל [2] Tip'cha תַּ֥חַת הַשָּֽׁמֶשׁ׃ [1] Silluq		⁹See life [4] with the wife whom you love [3] all the days [3] of your futile life [2] that he has given to you [3] under the sun, [2] all [2] your futile days; [1] for that is your portion [3] in life, [2] and in your labor [2] that you have labored [2] under the sun. [1]
	¹⁰כֹּ֠ל [4] TelishaG אֲשֶׁ֨ר תִּמְצָ֧א יָֽדְךָ֛ [3] Tevir לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת בְּכֹחֲךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha עֲשֵׂ֑ה [1] Etnachta כִּי֩ אֵ֨ין מַעֲשֶׂ֤ה וְחֶשְׁבּוֹן֙ [3] Pashta וְדַ֣עַת וְחׇכְמָ֔ה [2] Zaqef בִּשְׁא֕וֹל [2] ZaqefG אֲשֶׁ֥ר אַתָּ֖ה [2] Tip'cha הֹלֵ֥ךְ שָֽׁמָּה׃ [1] Silluq		¹⁰All [4] that your hand finds [3] to do with your strength, [2] do; [1] for there is no work or plan [3] or knowledge or wisdom, [2] in Sheol [2] where you [2] there are going. [1]
	¹¹שַׁ֜בְתִּי [4] Geresh וְרָאֹ֣ה תַֽחַת־הַשֶּׁ֗מֶשׁ [3] Revi'i כִּ֣י לֹא֩ לַקַּלִּ֨ים הַמֵּר֜וֹץ [4] Geresh וְלֹ֧א לַגִּבּוֹרִ֣ים הַמִּלְחָמָ֗ה [3] Revi'i וְ֠גַ֠ם [4 4] TelishaG לֹ֣א לַחֲכָמִ֥ים לֶ֙חֶם֙ [3 3] Pashta וְגַ֨ם לֹ֤א לַנְּבֹנִים֙ [3] Pashta עֹ֔שֶׁר [2] Zaqef וְגַ֛ם [3] Tevir לֹ֥א לַיֹּדְעִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha חֵ֑ן [1] Etnachta כִּי־עֵ֥ת וָפֶ֖גַע [2] Tip'cha יִקְרֶ֥ה אֶת־כֻּלָּֽם׃ [1] Silluq		¹¹I looked again [4] and I saw under the sun, [3] that not to the swift is the race [4] and not to the mighty the battle, [3] and also [4 4] not to the wise is bread [3 3] and also not to the intelligent [3] is wealth, [2] and also [3] not to the skillful [2] is favor; [1] for time and chance, [2] it happens to them all. [1]
	¹²כִּ֡י [4] Pazer גַּם֩ לֹֽא־יֵדַ֨ע הָאָדָ֜ם [4] Geresh אֶת־עִתּ֗וֹ [3] Revi'i כַּדָּגִים֙ [3] Pashta שֶׁנֶּֽאֱחָזִים֙ [3] Pashta בִּמְצוֹדָ֣ה רָעָ֔ה [2] Zaqef וְכַ֨צִּפֳּרִ֔ים [2] Zaqef הָאֲחֻז֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha בַּפָּ֑ח [1] Etnachta כָּהֵ֗ם [3] Revi'i יֽוּקָשִׁים֙ [3] Pashta בְּנֵ֣י הָֽאָדָ֔ם [2] Zaqef לְעֵ֣ת רָעָ֔ה [2] Zaqef כְּשֶׁתִּפּ֥וֹל עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha פִּתְאֹֽם׃ [1] Silluq		¹²For [4] man also does not know [4] his time, [3] like fish [3] that are caught [3] in an evil net, [2] or like birds [2] caught [2] in a snare; [1] like them [3] are ensnared [3] the sons of men, [2] in an evil time [2] when it falls on them [2] suddenly. [1]
	¹³גַּם־זֹ֛ה [3] Tevir רָאִ֥יתִי חׇכְמָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha תַּ֣חַת הַשָּׁ֑מֶשׁ [1] Etnachta וּגְדוֹלָ֥ה הִ֖יא [2] Tip'cha אֵלָֽי׃ [1] Silluq		¹³Also this [3] I have seen as wisdom [2] under the sun; [1] and great it was [2] to me, [1]
	¹⁴עִ֣יר קְטַנָּ֔ה [2] Zaqef וַאֲנָשִׁ֥ים בָּ֖הּ [2] Tip'cha מְעָ֑ט [1] Etnachta וּבָֽא־אֵלֶ֜יהָ [4] Geresh מֶ֤לֶךְ גָּדוֹל֙ [3] Pashta וְסָבַ֣ב אֹתָ֔הּ [2] Zaqef וּבָנָ֥ה עָלֶ֖יהָ [2] Tip'cha מְצוֹדִ֥ים גְּדֹלִֽים׃ [1] Silluq		¹⁴a small city, [2] and men in it [2] few; [1] and he came against it, [4] a great king [3] and he surrounded it, [2] and he built against it [2] great siege works. [1]
	¹⁵וּמָ֣צָא בָ֗הּ [3] Revi'i אִ֤ישׁ מִסְכֵּן֙ [3] Pashta חָכָ֔ם [2] Zaqef וּמִלַּט־ה֥וּא אֶת־הָעִ֖יר [2] Tip'cha בְּחׇכְמָת֑וֹ [1] Etnachta וְאָדָם֙ [3] Pashta לֹ֣א זָכַ֔ר [2] Zaqef אֶת־הָאִ֥ישׁ הַמִּסְכֵּ֖ן [2] Tip'cha הַהֽוּא׃ [1] Silluq		¹⁵Now was found in it [3] a poor man [3] who was wise, [2] and he, he delivered the city [2] by his wisdom; [1] yet by anyone [3] not was he remembered, [2] the poor man, [2] that. [1]
	¹⁶וְאָמַ֣רְתִּי אָ֔נִי [2] Zaqef טוֹבָ֥ה חׇכְמָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha מִגְּבוּרָ֑ה [1] Etnachta וְחׇכְמַ֤ת הַמִּסְכֵּן֙ [3] Pashta בְּזוּיָ֔ה [2] Zaqef וּדְבָרָ֖יו [2] Tip'cha אֵינָ֥ם נִשְׁמָעִֽים׃ [1] Silluq		¹⁶So I, I said, [2] “Wisdom is better [2] than strength; [1] but the wisdom of the poor [3] is despised, [2] and his words, [2] they are not heard.” [1]
	¹⁷דִּבְרֵ֣י חֲכָמִ֔ים [2] Zaqef בְּנַ֖חַת [2] Tip'cha נִשְׁמָעִ֑ים [1] Etnachta מִזַּעֲקַ֥ת מוֹשֵׁ֖ל [2] Tip'cha בַּכְּסִילִֽים׃ [1] Silluq		¹⁷The words of the wise, [2] in quietness [2] heard; [1] are better than the shout of a ruler [2] among fools. [1]
	¹⁸טוֹבָ֥ה חׇכְמָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha מִכְּלֵ֣י קְרָ֑ב [1] Etnachta וְחוֹטֶ֣א אֶחָ֔ד [2] Zaqef יְאַבֵּ֖ד [2] Tip'cha טוֹבָ֥ה הַרְבֵּֽה׃ [1] Silluq		¹⁸Wisdom is better [2] than weapons of war; [1] but one sinner, [2] he destroys [2] much good. [1]
