שמות 32 | Exodus 32 | |||
1 וַיַּ֣רְא הָעָ֔ם [2] Zaqef כִּֽי־בֹשֵׁ֥שׁ מֹשֶׁ֖ה [2] Tip'cha לָרֶ֣דֶת מִן־הָהָ֑ר [1] Etnachta עַֽל־אַהֲרֹ֗ן [3] Revi'i עֲשֵׂה־לָ֣נוּ אֱלֹהִ֗ים [3] Revi'i לְפָנֵ֔ינוּ [2] Zaqef מֹשֶׁ֣ה הָאִ֗ישׁ [3] Revi'i מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם [2] Zaqef מֶה־הָ֥יָה לֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
1 When the people saw [2] that Moses delayed [2] coming down from the mountain; [1] Aaron, [3] make for us gods [3] before us, [2] man Moses [3] from the land of Egypt, [2] what has happened to him.” [1] |
2 So he said to them, [3] Aaron, [2] the rings of gold [2] are on the ears of your wives [2] and your daughters; [1] to me.” [1] |
[1] Silluq |
3 So they broke off, [3] all the people, [2] that were on their ears; [1] to Aaron. [1] |
4 And he received (them) from their hand [3] and he fashioned it [3] with a tool, [2] a molten calf; [1] O Israel, [2] from the land of Egypt.” [1] |
5 And Aaron saw [2] and he built an altar [2] before it; [1] and he said, [2] tomorrow shall be.” [1] |
6 And they rose up early [3 3] the next morning [2] and they brought near [2] peace offerings; [1] to eat and to drink, [2] to play. [1] ¶ |
[1] Silluq |
7 Then the LORD said [2] to Moses; [1] your people have behaved corruptly [2] from the land of Egypt! [1] |
8 They have quickly turned aside [3] from the way [3 3] which I commanded them, [2] a calf, [2] molten; [1] and they have sacrificed to it, [2] O Israel, [2] from the land of Egypt.’ ” [1] |
[1] Silluq |
9 And the LORD said [2] to Moses; [1] this people, [2] it is. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
10 So therefore [3] leave me alone, [2] and that I may consume them; [1] into a great nation.” [1] |
11 Then Moses sought [2] the face [2] of the LORD his God; [1] “Why O LORD [3] does your wrath burn [3] against your people, [2] from the land of Egypt [2] and with a mighty hand? [1] |
12 Why should the Egyptians speak [4] saying, [3] to slay them [3] in the mountains, [2] from [2] the face of the earth?’ [1] from your burning anger, [2] to your people. [1] |
13 Remember [4] Abraham, Isaac, and Israel [4] your servants, [3] by yourself, [2] your offspring [2] of the heavens; [1] that I have promised [3] to your offspring, [2] forever.’ ” [1] |
14 So he relented, [2] the LORD; [1] which he had spoken [2] of doing to his people. [1] ¶ |
15 Then he turned [4] and he went down, Moses, [3] from the mountain, [2] tablets of the testimony [2] in his hand; [1] that were written [3] on both their sides, [2] they were written. [1] |
16 And the tablets, [2] the work of God [2] they were; [1] the writing of God [3] it was, [2] on the tablets. [1] |
17 When Joshua heard [3] the sound of the people [2] as they shouted; [1] to Moses, [2] is in the camp.” [1] |
18 But he said, [3] “It is not a sound [3] of singing of strength, [2] of singing of weakness; [1] I [2] hear.” [1] |
19 Then it happened [3] when he drew near [3] to the camp, [2] and dancing; [1] and he threw down from his hands [3] the tablets, [2] at the foot of the mountain. [1] |
20 Then he took [4] the calf which they had made, [3] and (it) he burned with fire, [2] to powder; [1] on the surface of the water, [2] the children of Israel. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
21 Then Moses said [3] to Aaron, [2] this people; [1] (such) a great sin?” [1] |
22 And Aaron said, [2] “Don’t let it grow hot, the anger [2] of my lord; [1] you know the people, [2] they are. [1] |
23 For they said to me, [2] ‘Make for us gods [2] which shall go [2] before us; [1] man Moses [3] from the land of Egypt, [2] what has happened to him.’ [1] |
24 So I said to them, [3] ‘Whoever has any gold, [2] So they gave it to me; [1] and out it came, [2] this calf.” [1] |
25 When Moses saw [3] the people, [2] they were; [1] to become a joke [2] among their enemies, [1] |
26 then Moses stood [3] at the gate of the camp, [2] “Whoever belongs to the LORD, [2] come to me!” [1] all the sons of Levi. [1] |
27 And he said to them, [3] “Thus says the LORD, [3] the God of Israel, [2] on his thigh; [1] from gate to gate [3 3] throughout the camp, [2] and everyone his friend, [2] and everyone his neighbor.’ ” [1] |
28 So the sons of Levi did [2] according to the word of Moses; [1] on that day [2] men. [1] |
29 Then Moses said, [3] “Consecrate your hands today [3] to the LORD, [2] every man has been against his son [2] and against his brother; [1] today [2] a blessing.” [1] |
30 So it happened [3] the following day, [2] to the people, [2] a great sin; [1] I will go up to the LORD. [2] for your sin.” [1] |
31 Then Moses returned [3] to the LORD, [2] and he said; [1] this people, [3] a great sin, [2] gods of gold. [1] |
32 Yet now [2] please forgive their sin; [1] please blot me out [2] from your book [2] which you have written.” [1] |
[1] Silluq |
33 But the LORD said [2] to Moses; [1] has sinned against me, [2] from my book. [1] |
34 Now [4] go [4] lead the people, [3] to you, [2] he shall go before you; [1] I will punish them [2] for their sin.” [1] |
35 So the LORD struck [2] the people; [1] what they did with the calf [2] Aaron. [1] § |
