שמות 33 | Exodus 33 | |||
1 Then the LORD said to Moses, [3] “Depart, go up from here, [2] that you have brought up [2] from the land of Egypt; [1] to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob [3] saying, [2] I will give it.’ [1] |
2 And I will send before you [2] an angel; [1] the Canaanite, [3] the Amorite, [2] and the Perizzite, [2] and the Jebusite, [1] |
3 אֶל־אֶ֛רֶץ [3] Tevir זָבַ֥ת חָלָ֖ב [2] Tip'cha וּדְבָ֑שׁ [1] Etnachta בְּקִרְבְּךָ֗ [3] Revi'i אַ֔תָּה [2] Zaqef בַּדָּֽרֶךְ׃ [1] Silluq |
3 to a land [3] flowing with milk [2] and honey; [1] in your midst [3] are you, [2] on the way.” [1] |
4 When the people heard [3] the dreadful words, [3] these, [2] they mourned; [1] anyone his jewelry, [2] on himself. [1] |
5 For the LORD said [4] to Moses, [3] ‘You are a stiff-necked people. [2] I were to go up among you, [2] I would consume you; [1] take off your jewelry [3] from yourselves, [2] what to do to you.’ ” [1] |
[1] Silluq |
6 So the children of Israel stripped from themselves [3] their jewelry [2] from Mount Horeb. [1] |
7 Now Moses took the tent [4] and he pitched it [4] outside the camp, [3] from the camp, [2] the tent of meeting; [1] all who sought the LORD, [2] to the tent of meeting [2] was outside the camp. [1] |
8 And it came to pass, [3] whenever Moses went out [3] to the Tent, [2] all the people, [2] each one [2] at the entrance of his tent; [1] after Moses [2] into the Tent. [1] |
9 And it came to pass, [3] just as Moses entered [3] into the Tent, [2] the pillar of cloud, [2] at the entrance of the Tent; [1] with Moses. [1] |
10 When all the people saw [3] the pillar of cloud [2] at the entrance of the Tent; [1] and they worshipped, [2] at the entrance of his tent. [1] |
11 So the LORD spoke to Moses [3] face to face [2] a person speaks [2] to his friend; [1] to the camp, [2] Joshua the son of Nun, [3] a young man, [2] from inside the Tent. [1] ¶ |
12 And Moses said [4] to the LORD, [3] you [4] are saying to me, [3] this people,’ [2] you have not let me know [2] with me; [1] ‘I know you by name, [2] in my sight.’ [1] |
13 Now therefore, [4] please if I have found favor [4] in your sight, [3] your ways, [2] that I may find favor [2] in your sight; [1] that your people [2] is this nation.” [1] |
[1] Silluq |
14 And he said; [1] and I will give you rest.” [1] |
[1] Silluq |
15 But he said [2] to him; [1] going; [2] from here. [1] |
16 For how [4] will it be known then [3] I and your people, [2] by your going with us; [1] I and your people, [2] which [2] is on the face of the earth?” [1] ¶ |
17 And the LORD said [3] to Moses, [2] which you have spoken, [2] I will do; [1] in my sight, [2] by name.” [1] |
18 וַיֹּאמַ֑ר [1] Etnachta אֶת־כְּבֹדֶֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq |
18 Then he said; [1] your glory.” [1] |
19 And he said, [3] “I, I will make all my goodness pass [3] before you, [2] of the LORD [2] before you; [1] those to whom I will be gracious, [2] those to whom I will show mercy.” [1] |
20 But he said, [2] “You will not be able [2] to see my face; [1] no man can see me [2] and he live.” [1] |
[1] Silluq |
21 And the LORD said, [2] “See, a place [2] near me; [1] on the rock. [1] |
22 And it shall come to pass [3] when my glory passes by, [2] in a cleft of the rock; [1] over you, [2] until I have passed by, [1] |
23 then I will take away [3] my hand, [2] my back; [1] it shall not be seen.” [1] ¶ |
