1 וַיְדַבֵּ֨ר יְהֹוָ֤ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה֙ [3] Pashta
לֵ֣ךְ עֲלֵ֣ה מִזֶּ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
אַתָּ֣ה וְהָעָ֔ם [2] Zaqef
אֲשֶׁ֥ר הֶֽעֱלִ֖יתָ [2] Tip'cha
מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם [1] Etnachta
 
אֶל־הָאָ֗רֶץ [3] Revi'i
 
אֲשֶׁ֣ר נִ֠שְׁבַּ֠עְתִּי [4 4] TelishaG
לְאַבְרָהָ֨ם לְיִצְחָ֤ק וּֽלְיַעֲקֹב֙ [3] Pashta
לֵאמֹ֔ר [2] Zaqef
 
לְזַרְעֲךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha
אֶתְּנֶֽנָּה׃ [1] Silluq

“Depart, go up from here, [2]
 
you and the people [2]
that you have brought up [2]
from the land of Egypt; [1]
 
into the land [3]
 
which I swore [4 4]
to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob [3]
saying, [2]
 
‘To your offspring [2]
I will give it.’ [1]
2 וְשָׁלַחְתִּ֥י לְפָנֶ֖יךָ [2] Tip'cha
מַלְאָ֑ךְ [1] Etnachta
 
וְגֵֽרַשְׁתִּ֗י [3] Revi'i
אֶת־הַֽכְּנַעֲנִי֙ [3] Pashta
הָֽאֱמֹרִ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
וְהַֽחִתִּי֙ [3] Pashta
וְהַפְּרִזִּ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
הַחִוִּ֖י [2] Tip'cha
וְהַיְבוּסִֽי׃ [1] Silluq

and I will drive out [3]
the Canaanite, [3]
the Amorite, [2]
 
and the Hittite [3]
and the Perizzite, [2]
 
the Hivite [2]
and the Jebusite, [1]

זָבַ֥ת חָלָ֖ב [2] Tip'cha
וּדְבָ֑שׁ [1] Etnachta
 
כִּי֩ לֹ֨א אֶֽעֱלֶ֜ה [4] Geresh
בְּקִרְבְּךָ֗ [3] Revi'i
 
כִּ֤י עַם־קְשֵׁה־עֹ֙רֶף֙ [3 3] Pashta
אַ֔תָּה [2] Zaqef
 
פֶּן־אֲכֶלְךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha
בַּדָּֽרֶךְ׃ [1] Silluq

flowing with milk [2]
and honey; [1]
 
but I will not go up [4]
in your midst [3]
 
for a stiff-necked people [3 3]
are you, [2]
 
lest I destroy you [2]

אֶת־הַדָּבָ֥ר הָרָ֛ע [3] Tevir
הַזֶּ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
וַיִּתְאַבָּ֑לוּ [1] Etnachta
 
וְלֹא־שָׁ֛תוּ [3] Tevir
אִ֥ישׁ עֶדְי֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
עָלָֽיו׃ [1] Silluq

the dreadful words, [3]

they mourned; [1]
 
and they did not put, [3]
anyone his jewelry, [2]
on himself. [1]
5 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהֹוָ֜ה [4] Geresh
אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֗ה [3] Revi'i
 
אֱמֹ֤ר אֶל־בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ [3] Pashta
אַתֶּ֣ם עַם־קְשֵׁה־עֹ֔רֶף [2] Zaqef
 
רֶ֧גַע אֶחָ֛ד [3] Tevir
אֶֽעֱלֶ֥ה בְקִרְבְּךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha
וְכִלִּיתִ֑יךָ [1] Etnachta
 
וְעַתָּ֗ה [3] Revi'i
הוֹרֵ֤ד עֶדְיְךָ֙ [3] Pashta
מֵֽעָלֶ֔יךָ [2] Zaqef
 
וְאֵדְעָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
מָ֥ה אֶֽעֱשֶׂה־לָּֽךְ׃ [1] Silluq

“Say to the children of Israel, [3]
‘You are a stiff-necked people. [2]
 
If for one moment [3]
I were to go up among you, [2]
I would consume you; [1]
 
so [3]
take off your jewelry [3]
from yourselves, [2]
 
that I may consider [2]
what to do to you.’ ” [1]
6 וַיִּֽתְנַצְּל֧וּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל [3] Tevir
אֶת־עֶדְיָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
מֵהַ֥ר חוֹרֵֽב׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 6 So the children of Israel stripped from themselves [3]
their jewelry [2]
from Mount Horeb. [1]
7 וּמֹשֶׁה֩ יִקַּ֨ח אֶת־הָאֹ֜הֶל [4] Geresh
וְנָֽטָה־ל֣וֹ ׀ [4] Legarmeh
מִח֣וּץ לַֽמַּחֲנֶ֗ה [3] Revi'i
 
הַרְחֵק֙ [3] Pashta
מִן־הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
וְקָ֥רָא ל֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֑ד [1] Etnachta
 
וְהָיָה֙ [3] Pashta
כׇּל־מְבַקֵּ֣שׁ יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
יֵצֵא֙ [3] Pashta
אֶל־אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֔ד [2] Zaqef
 
אֲשֶׁ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
מִח֥וּץ לַֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq

and he pitched it [4]
outside the camp, [3]
 
at a distance [3]
from the camp, [2]
 
and he called it [2]
the tent of meeting; [1]
 
so it came to pass, [3]
all who sought the LORD, [2]
 
they went out [3]
to the tent of meeting [2]
 
which [2]
was outside the camp. [1]
8 וְהָיָ֗ה [3] Revi'i
כְּצֵ֤את מֹשֶׁה֙ [3] Pashta
אֶל־הָאֹ֔הֶל [2] Zaqef
 
יָק֙וּמוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
כׇּל־הָעָ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
וְנִ֨צְּב֔וּ [2] Zaqef
אִ֖ישׁ [2] Tip'cha
פֶּ֣תַח אׇהֳל֑וֹ [1] Etnachta
 
וְהִבִּ֙יטוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
אַחֲרֵ֣י מֹשֶׁ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
עַד־בֹּא֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
הָאֹֽהֱלָה׃ [1] Silluq

whenever Moses went out [3]
to the Tent, [2]
 
they rose up, [3 3]
all the people, [2]
 
and they stood, [2]
each one [2]
at the entrance of his tent; [1]
 
and they looked [3 3]
after Moses [2]
 
until he had gone [2]
into the Tent. [1]
9 וְהָיָ֗ה [3] Revi'i
כְּבֹ֤א מֹשֶׁה֙ [3] Pashta
הָאֹ֔הֱלָה [2] Zaqef
 
יֵרֵד֙ [3] Pashta
עַמּ֣וּד הֶֽעָנָ֔ן [2] Zaqef
 
וְעָמַ֖ד [2] Tip'cha
פֶּ֣תַח הָאֹ֑הֶל [1] Etnachta
 
וְדִבֶּ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
עִם־מֹשֶֽׁה׃ [1] Silluq

just as Moses entered [3]
into the Tent, [2]
 
it descended, [3]
the pillar of cloud, [2]
 
and it stood [2]
at the entrance of the Tent; [1]
 
and he spoke [2]
with Moses. [1]
10 וְרָאָ֤ה כׇל־הָעָם֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־עַמּ֣וּד הֶֽעָנָ֔ן [2] Zaqef
 
עֹמֵ֖ד [2] Tip'cha
פֶּ֣תַח הָאֹ֑הֶל [1] Etnachta
 
וְקָ֤ם כׇּל־הָעָם֙ [3] Pashta
וְהִֽשְׁתַּחֲו֔וּ [2] Zaqef
 
אִ֖ישׁ [2] Tip'cha
פֶּ֥תַח אׇהֳלֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq

the pillar of cloud [2]
 
standing [2]
at the entrance of the Tent; [1]
 
all the people rose up [3]
and they worshipped, [2]
 
each one [2]
at the entrance of his tent. [1]
11 וְדִבֶּ֨ר יְהֹוָ֤ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה֙ [3] Pashta
פָּנִ֣ים אֶל־פָּנִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר [3] Tevir
יְדַבֵּ֥ר אִ֖ישׁ [2] Tip'cha
אֶל־רֵעֵ֑הוּ [1] Etnachta
 
וְשָׁב֙ [3] Pashta
אֶל־הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
וּמְשָׁ֨רְת֜וֹ [4] Geresh
יְהוֹשֻׁ֤עַ בִּן־נוּן֙ [3] Pashta
נַ֔עַר [2] Zaqef
 
לֹ֥א יָמִ֖ישׁ [2] Tip'cha
מִתּ֥וֹךְ הָאֹֽהֶל׃ [1] Silluq

face to face [2]
 
as [3]
a person speaks [2]
to his friend; [1]
 
then he returned [3]
to the camp, [2]
 
but his servant [4]
Joshua the son of Nun, [3]
a young man, [2]
 
he did not depart [2]
from inside the Tent. [1]
12 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֜ה [4] Geresh
אֶל־יְהֹוָ֗ה [3] Revi'i
 
רְ֠אֵ֠ה [4 4] TelishaG
אַתָּ֞ה [4] Gershayim
אֹמֵ֤ר אֵלַי֙ [3] Pashta
 
הַ֚עַל [3] Yetiv
אֶת־הָעָ֣ם הַזֶּ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
וְאַתָּה֙ [3] Pashta
לֹ֣א הֽוֹדַעְתַּ֔נִי [2] Zaqef
 
אֵ֥ת אֲשֶׁר־תִּשְׁלַ֖ח [2] Tip'cha
עִמִּ֑י [1] Etnachta
 
וְאַתָּ֤ה אָמַ֙רְתָּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
יְדַעְתִּ֣יךָֽ בְשֵׁ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
וְגַם־מָצָ֥אתָ חֵ֖ן [2] Tip'cha
בְּעֵינָֽי׃ [1] Silluq

“Behold, [4 4]
you [4]
are saying to me, [3]
 
‘Bring up [3]
this people,’ [2]
 
but you, [3]
you have not let me know [2]
 
whom you will send [2]
with me; [1]
 
yet you, you have said, [3 3]
‘I know you by name, [2]
 
and you have also found favor [2]
in my sight.’ [1]
13 וְעַתָּ֡ה [4] Pazer
אִם־נָא֩ מָצָ֨אתִי חֵ֜ן [4] Geresh
בְּעֵינֶ֗יךָ [3] Revi'i
 
הוֹדִעֵ֤נִי נָא֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־דְּרָכֶ֔ךָ [2] Zaqef
 
וְאֵדָ֣עֲךָ֔ [2] Zaqef
לְמַ֥עַן אֶמְצָא־חֵ֖ן [2] Tip'cha
בְּעֵינֶ֑יךָ [1] Etnachta
 
וּרְאֵ֕ה [2] ZaqefG
כִּ֥י עַמְּךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha
הַגּ֥וֹי הַזֶּֽה׃ [1] Silluq

please if I have found favor [4]
in your sight, [3]
 
please show me [3]
your ways, [2]
 
so that I may know you, [2]
that I may find favor [2]
in your sight; [1]
 
consider also [2]
that your people [2]
is this nation.” [1]
14 וַיֹּאמַ֑ר [1] Etnachta
 
פָּנַ֥י יֵלֵ֖כוּ [2] Tip'cha
וַהֲנִחֹ֥תִי לָֽךְ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 14 And he said; [1]
 
“My presence will go (with you), [2]
and I will give you rest.” [1]
15 וַיֹּ֖אמֶר [2] Tip'cha
אֵלָ֑יו [1] Etnachta
 
אִם־אֵ֤ין פָּנֶ֙יךָ֙ [3 3] Pashta
הֹלְכִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
אַֽל־תַּעֲלֵ֖נוּ [2] Tip'cha
מִזֶּֽה׃ [1] Silluq

to him; [1]
 
“If your presence is not [3 3]
going; [2]
 
do not bring us up [2]
from here. [1]
16 וּבַמֶּ֣ה ׀ [4] Legarmeh
יִוָּדַ֣ע אֵפ֗וֹא [3] Revi'i
 
כִּֽי־מָצָ֨אתִי חֵ֤ן בְּעֵינֶ֙יךָ֙ [3 3] Pashta
אֲנִ֣י וְעַמֶּ֔ךָ [2] Zaqef
 
הֲל֖וֹא [2] Tip'cha
בְּלֶכְתְּךָ֣ עִמָּ֑נוּ [1] Etnachta
 
וְנִפְלִ֙ינוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
אֲנִ֣י וְעַמְּךָ֔ [2] Zaqef
 
מִכׇּ֨ל־הָעָ֔ם [2] Zaqef
אֲשֶׁ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
עַל־פְּנֵ֥י הָאֲדָמָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

that I have found favor in your sight, [3 3]
I and your people, [2]
 
if not [2]
by your going with us; [1]
 
so that we will be distinguished, [3 3]
I and your people, [2]
 
from every people [2]

is on the face of the earth?” [1]
17 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta
אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
גַּ֣ם אֶת־הַדָּבָ֥ר הַזֶּ֛ה [3] Tevir
אֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבַּ֖רְתָּ [2] Tip'cha
אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
כִּֽי־מָצָ֤אתָ חֵן֙ [3] Pashta
בְּעֵינַ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
וָאֵדָעֲךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha
בְּשֵֽׁם׃ [1] Silluq

to Moses, [2]
 
“also this thing [3]
which you have spoken, [2]
I will do; [1]
 
for you have found favor [3]
in my sight, [2]
 
and I know you [2]
by name.” [1]
18 וַיֹּאמַ֑ר [1] Etnachta
 
הַרְאֵ֥נִי נָ֖א [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־כְּבֹדֶֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 18 Then he said; [1]
 
“Please show me [2]
your glory.” [1]
19 וַיֹּ֗אמֶר [3] Revi'i
אֲנִ֨י אַעֲבִ֤יר כׇּל־טוּבִי֙ [3] Pashta
עַל־פָּנֶ֔יךָ [2] Zaqef
 
וְקָרָ֧אתִֽי בְשֵׁ֛ם [3] Tevir
יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
לְפָנֶ֑יךָ [1] Etnachta
 
וְחַנֹּתִי֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־אֲשֶׁ֣ר אָחֹ֔ן [2] Zaqef
 
וְרִחַמְתִּ֖י [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־אֲשֶׁ֥ר אֲרַחֵֽם׃ [1] Silluq

“I, I will make all my goodness pass [3]
before you, [2]
 
and I will call out the name [3]
of the LORD [2]
before you; [1]
 
and I will be gracious to [3]
those to whom I will be gracious, [2]
 
and I will show mercy to [2]
those to whom I will show mercy.” [1]
20 וַיֹּ֕אמֶר [2] ZaqefG
לֹ֥א תוּכַ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
לִרְאֹ֣ת אֶת־פָּנָ֑י [1] Etnachta
 
כִּ֛י [3] Tevir
לֹֽא־יִרְאַ֥נִי הָאָדָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
וָחָֽי׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 3 20 But he said, [2]
“You will not be able [2]
to see my face; [1]
 
for [3]
no man can see me [2]
and he live.” [1]
21 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
הִנֵּ֥ה מָק֖וֹם [2] Tip'cha
אִתִּ֑י [1] Etnachta
 
וְנִצַּבְתָּ֖ [2] Tip'cha
עַל־הַצּֽוּר׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 21 And the LORD said, [2]
“See, a place [2]
near me; [1]
 
and you shall stand [2]
on the rock. [1]
22 וְהָיָה֙ [3] Pashta
בַּעֲבֹ֣ר כְּבֹדִ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
וְשַׂמְתִּ֖יךָ [2] Tip'cha
בְּנִקְרַ֣ת הַצּ֑וּר [1] Etnachta
 
וְשַׂכֹּתִ֥י כַפִּ֛י [3] Tevir
עָלֶ֖יךָ [2] Tip'cha
עַד־עׇבְרִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 22 And it shall come to pass [3]
when my glory passes by, [2]
 
I will put you [2]
in a cleft of the rock; [1]
 
and I will hold my hand [3]
over you, [2]
until I have passed by, [1]
23 וַהֲסִרֹתִי֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־כַּפִּ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
וְרָאִ֖יתָ [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־אֲחֹרָ֑י [1] Etnachta
 
וּפָנַ֖י [2] Tip'cha
לֹ֥א יֵרָאֽוּ׃ [1] Silluq

my hand, [2]
 
and you will see [2]
my back; [1]
 
but my face, [2]
it shall not be seen.” [1]
