1 Then [3] Darius the king, [2] he made a decree; [1] in the house of the books [3] were laid up there, [2] |

2 וְהִשְׁתְּכַ֣ח בְּאַחְמְתָ֗א [3] Revi'i בְּבִ֥ירְתָ֛א [3] Tevir דִּ֛י [3] Tevir בְּמָדַ֥י מְדִינְתָּ֖א [2] Tip'cha דִּכְרוֹנָֽהֿ׃ [1] Silluq פ |
2 And it was found in Achmetha [3] in the palace [3] which [3] is in Media the province, [2] the record: [1] ¶ |

3 בִּשְׁנַ֨ת חֲדָ֜ה [4] Geresh לְכ֣וֹרֶשׁ מַלְכָּ֗א [3] Revi'i שָׂ֣ם טְעֵם֒ [2] Segol בַּיְתָ֣א יִתְבְּנֵ֔א [2] Zaqef דִּֽי־דָבְחִ֣ין דִּבְחִ֔ין [2] Zaqef מְסֽוֹבְלִ֑ין [1] Etnachta אַמִּ֣ין שִׁתִּ֔ין [2] Zaqef אַמִּ֥ין שִׁתִּֽין׃ [1] Silluq |
3 In the first year [4] of Cyrus the king, [3] he made a decree, [2] let the house be built, [2] where they offer sacrifices, [2] be strongly laid; [1] sixty cubits, [2] sixty cubits, [1] |

5 And also [4 4] the vessels of the house of God, [3] of gold and silver, [2] he brought out [3] from the temple which was in Jerusalem, [2] and he carried to Babylon; [1] to the temple which is in Jerusalem, [3] to its place, [2] in the house of God. [1] § |

6 Now [4] O Tattenai, [4 4] governor of the region beyond the River, [4] Shetharbozenai, [3] who [2] are in the region beyond the River; [1] from there. [1] |

7 שְׁבֻ֕קוּ [2] ZaqefG לַעֲבִידַ֖ת [2] Tip'cha בֵּית־אֱלָהָ֣א דֵ֑ךְ [1] Etnachta וּלְשָׂבֵ֣י יְהוּדָיֵ֔א [2] Zaqef יִבְנ֥וֹן עַל־אַתְרֵֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq |
7 Leave alone [2] the work [2] of this house of God; [1] and the elders of the Jews, [2] let them build in its place. [1] |

8 וּמִנִּי֮ [3] Zarqa שִׂ֣ים טְעֵם֒ [2] Segol עִם־שָׂבֵ֤י יְהוּדָיֵא֙ [3] Pashta אִלֵּ֔ךְ [2] Zaqef בֵּית־אֱלָהָ֣א דֵ֑ךְ [1] Etnachta דִּ֚י [3] Yetiv מִדַּת֙ [3] Pashta עֲבַ֣ר נַהֲרָ֔ה [2] Zaqef נִפְקְתָ֛א [3] Tevir תֶּהֱוֵ֧א מִֽתְיַהֲבָ֛א [3] Tevir לְגֻבְרַיָּ֥א אִלֵּ֖ךְ [2] Tip'cha |
8 And from me [3] a decree is made, [2] for the elders of the Jews [3] these, [2] this house of God; [1] which [3] is the tribute [3] of the region beyond the River, [2] the expense [3] let it be given [3] to these men, [2] |

9 וּמָ֣ה חַשְׁחָ֡ן [4] Pazer וּבְנֵ֣י תוֹרִ֣ין וְדִכְרִ֣ין וְאִמְּרִ֣ין ׀ לַעֲלָוָ֣ן ׀ לֶאֱלָ֪הּ שְׁמַיָּ֟א [4] Qarnei Farah חִנְטִ֞ין [4] Gershayim מְלַ֣ח ׀ [4] Legarmeh חֲמַ֣ר וּמְשַׁ֗ח [3] Revi'i לֶהֱוֵ֨א מִתְיְהֵ֥ב לְהֹ֛ם [3] Tevir י֥וֹם ׀ בְּי֖וֹם [2] Tip'cha |
9 And whatever things needed, [4] young bulls and rams and lambs, for burnt offerings to the God of the heavens, [4] wheat, [4] salt, [4] wine and oil, [3] let it be given to them [3] day by day, [2] |

10 דִּֽי־לֶהֱוֺ֧ן מְהַקְרְבִ֛ין [3] Tevir נִיחוֹחִ֖ין [2] Tip'cha לֶאֱלָ֣הּ שְׁמַיָּ֑א [1] Etnachta לְחַיֵּ֥י מַלְכָּ֖א [2] Tip'cha וּבְנֽוֹהִי׃ [1] Silluq |
10 that they may offer [3] soothing sacrifices [2] to the God of the heavens; [1] for the life of the king [2] and his sons. [1] |

11 וּמִנִּי֮ [3] Zarqa שִׂ֣ים טְעֵם֒ [2] Segol דִּ֤י יְהַשְׁנֵא֙ [3] Pashta פִּתְגָמָ֣א דְנָ֔ה [2] Zaqef מִן־בַּיְתֵ֔הּ [2] Zaqef יִתְמְחֵ֣א עֲלֹ֑הִי [1] Etnachta נְוָל֥וּ יִתְעֲבֵ֖ד [2] Tip'cha עַל־דְּנָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
11 And from me [3] a decree is made, [2] who violates [3] this command, [2] from his house, [2] and impaled on it; [1] let a refuse heap be made [2] on this. [1] |

12 וֵֽאלָהָ֞א [4] Gershayim דִּ֣י שַׁכִּ֧ן שְׁמֵ֣הּ תַּמָּ֗ה [3] Revi'i כׇּל־מֶ֤לֶךְ וְעַם֙ [3] Pashta יִשְׁלַ֣ח יְדֵ֗הּ [3] Revi'i לְחַבָּלָ֛ה [3] Tevir בֵּית־אֱלָהָ֥א דֵ֖ךְ [2] Tip'cha שָׂ֣מֶת טְעֵ֔ם [2] Zaqef יִתְעֲבִֽד׃ [1] Silluq פ |
12 And God [4] who has caused his name to dwell there, [3] every king and people [3] stretches out his hand [3] to destroy [3] this house of God, [2] I make a decree. [2] let it be done. [1] ¶ |

14 וְשָׂבֵ֤י יְהוּדָיֵא֙ [3] Pashta בָּנַ֣יִן וּמַצְלְחִ֔ין [2] Zaqef חַגַּ֣י *נביאה **נְבִיָּ֔א [2] Zaqef בַּר־עִדּ֑וֹא [1] Etnachta מִן־טַ֙עַם֙ [3 3] Pashta אֱלָ֣הּ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל [2] Zaqef כּ֣וֹרֶשׁ וְדָרְיָ֔וֶשׁ [2] Zaqef מֶ֥לֶךְ פָּרָֽס׃ [1] Silluq |
14 And the elders of the Jews [3] built and prospered, [2] of Haggai the prophet [2] son of Iddo; [1] according to the decree [3 3] of the God of Israel, [2] of Cyrus and Darius, [2] king of Persia. [1] |

15 וְשֵׁיצִיא֙ [3] Pashta בַּיְתָ֣ה דְנָ֔ה [2] Zaqef י֥וֹם תְּלָתָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha לִירַ֣ח אֲדָ֑ר [1] Etnachta לְמַלְכ֖וּת [2] Tip'cha דָּרְיָ֥וֶשׁ מַלְכָּֽא׃ [1] Silluq פ |
15 And it was finished [3] this house, [2] day three [2] of the month of Adar; [1] of the reign [2] of Darius the king. [1] ¶ |

16 וַעֲבַ֣דוּ בְנֵֽי־יִ֠שְׂרָאֵ֠ל [4 4] TelishaG כָּהֲנַיָּ֨א וְלֵוָיֵ֜א [4] Geresh וּשְׁאָ֣ר בְּנֵי־גָלוּתָ֗א [3] Revi'i בֵּית־אֱלָהָ֥א דְנָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha |
16 And they made, the children of Israel, [4 4] the priests and the Levites [4] and the rest of the children of the exile, [3] of this house of God, [2] |

17 וְהַקְרִ֗בוּ [3] Revi'i לַחֲנֻכַּת֮ [3] Zarqa בֵּית־אֱלָהָ֣א דְנָה֒ [2] Segol דִּכְרִ֣ין מָאתַ֔יִן [2] Zaqef אִמְּרִ֖ין [2] Tip'cha אַרְבַּ֣ע מְאָ֑ה [1] Etnachta *לחטיא **לְחַטָּאָ֤ה עַל־כׇּל־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ [3] Pashta תְּרֵֽי־עֲשַׂ֔ר [2] Zaqef שִׁבְטֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq |
17 And they offered [3] for the dedication [3] of this house of God, [2] rams, two hundred [2] lambs [2] four hundred; [1] for a sin offering for all Israel, [3] two and ten, [2] of the tribes of Israel. [1] |

18 וַהֲקִ֨ימוּ כָהֲנַיָּ֜א [4] Geresh בִּפְלֻגָּתְה֗וֹן [3] Revi'i בְּמַחְלְקָ֣תְה֔וֹן [2] Zaqef דִּ֣י בִירוּשְׁלֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta סְפַ֥ר מֹשֶֽׁה׃ [1] Silluq פ |
18 And they appointed the priests [4] in their divisions, [3] in their courses, [2] which is in Jerusalem; [1] in the book of Moses. [1] ¶ |

19 וַיַּעֲשׂ֥וּ בְנֵי־הַגּוֹלָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha אֶת־הַפָּ֑סַח [1] Etnachta לַחֹ֥דֶשׁ הָרִאשֽׁוֹן׃ [1] Silluq |
19 And the children of the exile celebrated [2] the Passover; [1] of the first month. [1] |

20 כִּ֣י הִֽטַּהֲר֞וּ [4] Gershayim הַכֹּהֲנִ֧ים וְהַלְוִיִּ֛ם [3] Tevir כְּאֶחָ֖ד [2] Tip'cha כֻּלָּ֣ם טְהוֹרִ֑ים [1] Etnachta לְכׇל־בְּנֵ֣י הַגּוֹלָ֔ה [2] Zaqef וְלָהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
20 Because they had purified themselves, [4] the priests and the Levites [3] together, [2] all of them were pure; [1] for all the children of the exile, [2] and for themselves. [1] |

21 וַיֹּאכְל֣וּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל [3] Revi'i הַשָּׁבִים֙ [3] Pashta מֵֽהַגּוֹלָ֔ה [2] Zaqef הַנִּבְדָּ֛ל [3] Tevir מִטֻּמְאַ֥ת גּוֹיֵֽ־הָאָ֖רֶץ [2] Tip'cha אֲלֵהֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta לַֽיהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq |
21 And they ate, the children of Israel [3] who had returned [3] from the exile, [2] who had separated themselves [3] from the uncleanness of the nations of the land [2] to them; [1] the LORD, [2] the God of Israel, [1] |

22 וַיַּֽעֲשׂ֧וּ חַג־מַצּ֛וֹת [3] Tevir שִׁבְעַ֥ת יָמִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha בְּשִׂמְחָ֑ה [1] Etnachta שִׂמְּחָ֣ם יְהֹוָ֗ה [3] Revi'i לֵ֤ב מֶֽלֶךְ־אַשּׁוּר֙ [3] Pashta עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef בִּמְלֶ֥אכֶת בֵּית־הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq פ |
22 and they celebrated the feast of unleavened bread [3] seven days [2] with joy; [1] the LORD had made them rejoice, [3] the heart of the king of Assyria [3] to them, [2] in the work of the house of God, [2] the God of Israel. [1] ¶ |
