| 1 וַֽיְהִ֥י כׇל־הָאָ֖רֶץ [2] Tip'cha שָׂפָ֣ה אֶחָ֑ת [1] Etnachta אֲחָדִֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
1 And the whole earth was [2] of one language; [1] one. [1] |

| 2 וַֽיְהִ֖י [2] Tip'cha בְּנׇסְעָ֣ם מִקֶּ֑דֶם [1] Etnachta בְּאֶ֥רֶץ שִׁנְעָ֖ר [2] Tip'cha וַיֵּ֥שְׁבוּ שָֽׁם׃ [1] Silluq |
2 And [2] as they traveled from the east; [1] in the land of Shinar, [2] and they lived there. [1] |

| 3 וַיֹּאמְר֞וּ [4] Gershayim אִ֣ישׁ אֶל־רֵעֵ֗הוּ [3] Revi'i נִלְבְּנָ֣ה לְבֵנִ֔ים [2] Zaqef לִשְׂרֵפָ֑ה [1] Etnachta לְאָ֔בֶן [2] Zaqef הָיָ֥ה לָהֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha לַחֹֽמֶר׃ [1] Silluq |
3 And they said [4] to one another, [3] let’s make bricks, [2] thoroughly.” [1] for stone, [2] they used for [2] mortar. [1] |

| 4 וַיֹּאמְר֞וּ [4] Gershayim הָ֣בָה ׀ [4] Legarmeh נִבְנֶה־לָּ֣נוּ עִ֗יר [3] Revi'i וְרֹאשׁ֣וֹ בַשָּׁמַ֔יִם [2] Zaqef שֵׁ֑ם [1] Etnachta עַל־פְּנֵ֥י כׇל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq |
4 And they said, [4] “Come [4] let’s build ourselves a city, [3] whose top reaches to the sky, [2] a name; [1] over the surface of the whole earth.” [1] |

| 5 וַיֵּ֣רֶד יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef לִרְאֹ֥ת אֶת־הָעִ֖יר [2] Tip'cha וְאֶת־הַמִּגְדָּ֑ל [1] Etnachta בְּנֵ֥י הָאָדָֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
5 And the LORD came down, [2] to see the city [2] and the tower; [1] the children of men. [1] |

| 6 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְהֹוָ֗ה [3] Revi'i הֵ֣ן עַ֤ם אֶחָד֙ [3] Pashta וְשָׂפָ֤ה אַחַת֙ [3] Pashta לְכֻלָּ֔ם [2] Zaqef הַחִלָּ֣ם לַעֲשׂ֑וֹת [1] Etnachta לֹֽא־יִבָּצֵ֣ר מֵהֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef אֲשֶׁ֥ר יָזְמ֖וּ [2] Tip'cha לַֽעֲשֽׂוֹת׃ [1] Silluq |
6 And the LORD said, [3] “Behold, they are one people, [3] and one language [3] they all have, [2] is what they begin to do; [1] nothing will be withheld from them, [2] that they plan [2] to do. [1] |

| 7 הָ֚בָה [3] Yetiv נֵֽרְדָ֔ה [2] Zaqef שְׂפָתָ֑ם [1] Etnachta לֹ֣א יִשְׁמְע֔וּ [2] Zaqef שְׂפַ֥ת רֵעֵֽהוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
7 Come [3] let’s go down, [2] their language; [1] they may not understand [2] the speech of another.” [1] |

| 8 וַיָּ֨פֶץ יְהֹוָ֥ה אֹתָ֛ם [3] Tevir מִשָּׁ֖ם [2] Tip'cha עַל־פְּנֵ֣י כׇל־הָאָ֑רֶץ [1] Etnachta לִבְנֹ֥ת הָעִֽיר׃ [1] Silluq |
8 So the LORD scattered them [3] from there, [2] over the surface of all the earth; [1] building the city. [1] |

| 9 עַל־כֵּ֞ן [4] Gershayim קָרָ֤א שְׁמָהּ֙ [3] Pashta בָּבֶ֔ל [2] Zaqef בָּלַ֥ל יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha שְׂפַ֣ת כׇּל־הָאָ֑רֶץ [1] Etnachta הֱפִיצָ֣ם יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef כׇּל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq פ |
9 Therefore [4] its name was called [3] Babel, [2] the LORD confused [2] the language of all the earth; [1] the LORD scattered them [2] of all the earth. [1] ¶ |

| 10 אֵ֚לֶּה [3] Yetiv תּוֹלְדֹ֣ת שֵׁ֔ם [2] Zaqef בֶּן־מְאַ֣ת שָׁנָ֔ה [2] Zaqef אֶת־אַרְפַּכְשָׁ֑ד [1] Etnachta אַחַ֥ר הַמַּבּֽוּל׃ [1] Silluq |
10 These are [3] the accounts of Shem: [2] one hundred years old [2] Arpachshad; [1] after the flood. [1] |

12 And Arpachshad lived [2] five and thirty [2] years; [1] Shelah. [1] |

13 And Arpachshad lived [3] after [3] he was born to him, Shelah, [2] and four hundred [2] years; [1] and daughters. [1] § |

17 And Eber lived [3] after [3] he was born to him, Peleg, [2] and four hundred [2] years; [1] and daughters. [1] § |

23 And Serug lived [3] after [3] he was born to him, Nahor, [2] two hundred years; [1] and daughters. [1] § |

| 24 וַיְחִ֣י נָח֔וֹר [2] Zaqef תֵּ֥שַׁע וְעֶשְׂרִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha שָׁנָ֑ה [1] Etnachta אֶת־תָּֽרַח׃ [1] Silluq |
24 And Nahor lived [2] nine and twenty [2] years; [1] Terah. [1] |

| 25 וַיְחִ֣י נָח֗וֹר [3] Revi'i אַחֲרֵי֙ [3] Pashta הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־תֶּ֔רַח [2] Zaqef וּמְאַ֣ת שָׁנָ֑ה [1] Etnachta וּבָנֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq ס |
25 And Nahor lived [3] after [3] he was born to him, Terah, [2] and one hundred years; [1] and daughters. [1] § |

| 26 וַֽיְחִי־תֶ֖רַח [2] Tip'cha שִׁבְעִ֣ים שָׁנָ֑ה [1] Etnachta אֶת־אַבְרָ֔ם [2] Zaqef וְאֶת־הָרָֽן׃ [1] Silluq |
26 And Terah lived [2] seventy years; [1] Abram, [2] and Haran. [1] |

| 27 וְאֵ֙לֶּה֙ [3 3] Pashta תּוֹלְדֹ֣ת תֶּ֔רַח [2] Zaqef הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־אַבְרָ֔ם [2] Zaqef וְאֶת־הָרָ֑ן [1] Etnachta הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־לֽוֹט׃ [1] Silluq |
27 Now these [3 3] are the accounts of Terah. [2] were born Abram, [2] and Haran; [1] was born Lot. [1] |

28 And Haran died [2] in the presence of [2] his father Terah; [1] in Ur-Kasdim. [1] |

| 29 וַיִּקַּ֨ח אַבְרָ֧ם וְנָח֛וֹר [3] Tevir לָהֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha נָשִׁ֑ים [1] Etnachta שָׂרָ֔י [2] Zaqef מִלְכָּ֔ה [2] Zaqef וַֽאֲבִ֥י יִסְכָּֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
29 And Abram and Nahor took [3] for themselves [2] wives. [1] was Sarai, [2] was Milcah, [2] and the father of Iscah. [1] |

30 And Sarai was [2] barren; [1] child. [1] |

| 31 וַיִּקַּ֨ח תֶּ֜רַח [4] Geresh אֶת־אַבְרָ֣ם בְּנ֗וֹ [3] Revi'i בֶּן־בְּנ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef שָׂרַ֣י כַּלָּת֔וֹ [2] Zaqef אַבְרָ֣ם בְּנ֑וֹ [1] Etnachta מֵא֣וּר כַּשְׂדִּ֗ים [3] Revi'i אַ֣רְצָה כְּנַ֔עַן [2] Zaqef וַיֵּ֥שְׁבוּ שָֽׁם׃ [1] Silluq |
31 And Terah took [4] Abram his son, [3] the son of his son, [2] Sarai his daughter-in-law, [2] of his son Abram; [1] from Ur-Kasdim, [3] to the land of Canaan, [2] and lived there. [1] |
