בראשית 12 Genesis 12
1 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta
אֶל־אַבְרָ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
לֶךְ־לְךָ֛ [3] Tevir
מֵאַרְצְךָ֥ וּמִמּֽוֹלַדְתְּךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha
וּמִבֵּ֣ית אָבִ֑יךָ [1] Etnachta
 
אֶל־הָאָ֖רֶץ [2] Tip'cha
אֲשֶׁ֥ר אַרְאֶֽךָּ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 2 1 Now the LORD said [3]
to Abram, [2]
 
“Go you [3]
from your country and from your relatives, [2]
and from your father’s house; [1]
 
to the land [2]
that I will show you. [1]
2 וְאֶֽעֶשְׂךָ֙ [3] Pashta
לְג֣וֹי גָּד֔וֹל [2] Zaqef
 
וַאֲבָ֣רֶכְךָ֔ [2] Zaqef
וַאֲגַדְּלָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
שְׁמֶ֑ךָ [1] Etnachta
 
וֶהְיֵ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
בְּרָכָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 2 2 And I will make you [3]
into a great nation, [2]
 
and I will bless you, [2]
and I will make great [2]
your name; [1]
 
and [you] will be [2]
a blessing. [1]
3 וַאֲבָֽרְכָה֙ [3] Pashta
מְבָ֣רְכֶ֔יךָ [2] Zaqef
 
וּמְקַלֶּלְךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha
אָאֹ֑ר [1] Etnachta
 
וְנִבְרְכ֣וּ בְךָ֔ [2] Zaqef
כֹּ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
מִשְׁפְּחֹ֥ת הָאֲדָמָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 2 3 And I will bless [3]
[those who] bless you, [2]
 
and [one who] treats you with contempt [2]
I will curse; [1]
 
and they will be blessed by you, [2]
all [2]
the families of the earth.” [1]
4 וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ אַבְרָ֗ם [3] Revi'i
כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר דִּבֶּ֤ר אֵלָיו֙ [3] Pashta
יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
וַיֵּ֥לֶךְ אִתּ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
ל֑וֹט [1] Etnachta
 
וְאַבְרָ֗ם [3] Revi'i
בֶּן־חָמֵ֤שׁ שָׁנִים֙ [3] Pashta
וְשִׁבְעִ֣ים שָׁנָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
בְּצֵאת֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
מֵחָרָֽן׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 2 3 3 2 4 So Abram went, [3]
just as he had said to him, [3]
the LORD, [2]
 
and he went with him, [2]
Lot; [1]
 
and Abram [3]
was a son of five years [3]
and seventy years, [2]
 
when he departed [2]
from Haran. [1]
5 וַיִּקַּ֣ח אַבְרָם֩ אֶת־שָׂרַ֨י אִשְׁתּ֜וֹ [4] Geresh
וְאֶת־ל֣וֹט בֶּן־אָחִ֗יו [3] Revi'i
 
וְאֶת־כׇּל־רְכוּשָׁם֙ [3] Pashta
אֲשֶׁ֣ר רָכָ֔שׁוּ [2] Zaqef
 
וְאֶת־הַנֶּ֖פֶשׁ [2] Tip'cha
אֲשֶׁר־עָשׂ֣וּ בְחָרָ֑ן [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֵּצְא֗וּ [3] Revi'i
לָלֶ֙כֶת֙ [3 3] Pashta
אַ֣רְצָה כְּנַ֔עַן [2] Zaqef
 
וַיָּבֹ֖אוּ [2] Tip'cha
אַ֥רְצָה כְּנָֽעַן׃ [1] Silluq

and Lot the son of his brother, [3]
 
and all their possessions [3]
which they had accumulated, [2]
 
and the people [2]
whom they had acquired in Haran; [1]
 
and they went out [3]
to go [3 3]
to the land of Canaan, [2]
 
and they came [2]
to the land of Canaan. [1]
6 וַיַּעֲבֹ֤ר אַבְרָם֙ [3] Pashta
בָּאָ֔רֶץ [2] Zaqef
 
עַ֚ד [3] Yetiv
מְק֣וֹם שְׁכֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
עַ֖ד [2] Tip'cha
אֵל֣וֹן מוֹרֶ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וְהַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
אָ֥ז בָּאָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 2 2 6 And Abram passed [3]
through the land, [2]
 
to [3]
the place of Shechem, [2]
 
to [2]
the great tree of Moreh; [1]
 
and the Canaanites [2]
then were in the land. [1]
7 וַיֵּרָ֤א יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta
אֶל־אַבְרָ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
וַיֹּ֕אמֶר [2] ZaqefG
לְזַ֨רְעֲךָ֔ [2] Zaqef
אֶתֵּ֖ן [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־הָאָ֣רֶץ הַזֹּ֑את [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּ֤בֶן שָׁם֙ [3] Pashta
מִזְבֵּ֔חַ [2] Zaqef
 
לַיהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
הַנִּרְאֶ֥ה אֵלָֽיו׃ [1] Silluq

to Abram, [2]
 
and he said, [2]
“To your offspring [2]
I will give [2]
this land.” [1]
 
And he built there [3]
an altar, [2]
 
to the LORD [2]
who had appeared to him. [1]
8 וַיַּעְתֵּ֨ק מִשָּׁ֜ם [4] Geresh
הָהָ֗רָה [3] Revi'i
 
מִקֶּ֛דֶם [3] Tevir
לְבֵֽית־אֵ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
 
וַיֵּ֣ט אׇהֳלֹ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
בֵּֽית־אֵ֤ל מִיָּם֙ [3] Pashta
וְהָעַ֣י מִקֶּ֔דֶם [2] Zaqef
 
וַיִּֽבֶן־שָׁ֤ם מִזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ [3 3] Pashta
לַֽיהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
וַיִּקְרָ֖א [2] Tip'cha
בְּשֵׁ֥ם יְהֹוָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

to the hill country [3]
 
east [3]
of Bethel, [2]
 
and he pitched his tent; [1]
 
with Bethel on the west [3]
and Ai on the east, [2]
 
and there he built an altar [3 3]
to the LORD, [2]
 
and he called [2]
on the name of the LORD. [1]
9 וַיִּסַּ֣ע אַבְרָ֔ם [2] Zaqef
הָל֥וֹךְ וְנָס֖וֹעַ [2] Tip'cha
הַנֶּֽגְבָּה׃ [1] Silluq

2 2 9 And Abram traveled, [2]
continuing to travel [2]
to the South. [1]
10 וַיְהִ֥י רָעָ֖ב [2] Tip'cha
בָּאָ֑רֶץ [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֵּ֨רֶד אַבְרָ֤ם מִצְרַ֙יְמָה֙ [3 3] Pashta
לָג֣וּר שָׁ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
כִּֽי־כָבֵ֥ד הָרָעָ֖ב [2] Tip'cha
בָּאָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 2 10 And there was a famine [2]
in the land; [1]
 
and Abram went down to Egypt [3 3]
to live as a foreigner there, [2]
 
for the famine was severe [2]
in the land. [1]
11 וַיְהִ֕י [2] ZaqefG
כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר הִקְרִ֖יב [2] Tip'cha
לָב֣וֹא מִצְרָ֑יְמָה [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ [3 3] Pashta
אֶל־שָׂרַ֣י אִשְׁתּ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
הִנֵּה־נָ֣א יָדַ֔עְתִּי [2] Zaqef
 
כִּ֛י [3] Tevir
אִשָּׁ֥ה יְפַת־מַרְאֶ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אָֽתְּ׃ [1] Silluq

when he had come near [2]
to enter Egypt; [1]
 
he said [3 3]
to Sarai his wife, [2]
 
“See now I know, [2]
 
that [3]
a woman beautiful to look at, [2]
you are. [1]
12 וְהָיָ֗ה [3] Revi'i
כִּֽי־יִרְא֤וּ אֹתָךְ֙ [3] Pashta
הַמִּצְרִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
וְאָמְר֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
אִשְׁתּ֣וֹ זֹ֑את [1] Etnachta
 
וְהָרְג֥וּ אֹתִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
וְאֹתָ֥ךְ יְחַיּֽוּ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 2 12 And it will be, [3]
that they will see you [3]
the Egyptians, [2]
 
and they will say, [2]
‘This is his wife,’ [1]
 
and they will kill me, [2]
and you they will let live. [1]
13 אִמְרִי־נָ֖א [2] Tip'cha
אֲחֹ֣תִי אָ֑תְּ [1] Etnachta
 
לְמַ֙עַן֙ [3 3] Pashta
יִֽיטַב־לִ֣י בַעֲבוּרֵ֔ךְ [2] Zaqef
 
וְחָיְתָ֥ה נַפְשִׁ֖י [2] Tip'cha
בִּגְלָלֵֽךְ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 2 13 Please say [2]
you are my sister; [1]
 
so that [3 3]
it may go well for me because of you, [2]
 
and my soul may live [2]
on account of you.” [1]
14 וַיְהִ֕י [2] ZaqefG
כְּב֥וֹא אַבְרָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
מִצְרָ֑יְמָה [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּרְא֤וּ הַמִּצְרִים֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־הָ֣אִשָּׁ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
כִּֽי־יָפָ֥ה הִ֖וא [2] Tip'cha
מְאֹֽד׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 3 2 14 And it was, [2]
when Abram entered [2]
Egypt; [1]
 
and the Egyptians saw [3]
the woman, [2]
 
that she was beautiful [2]
very, [1]
15 וַיִּרְא֤וּ אֹתָהּ֙ [3] Pashta
שָׂרֵ֣י פַרְעֹ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
וַיְהַֽלְל֥וּ אֹתָ֖הּ [2] Tip'cha
אֶל־פַּרְעֹ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וַתֻּקַּ֥ח הָאִשָּׁ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
בֵּ֥ית פַּרְעֹֽה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 15 and they saw her, [3]
the officials of Pharaoh, [2]
 
and they praised her [2]
to Pharaoh; [1]
 
and the woman was taken into [2]
the house of Pharaoh. [1]
16 וּלְאַבְרָ֥ם הֵיטִ֖יב [2] Tip'cha
בַּעֲבוּרָ֑הּ [1] Etnachta
 
וַֽיְהִי־ל֤וֹ צֹאן־וּבָקָר֙ [3] Pashta
וַחֲמֹרִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
וַעֲבָדִים֙ [3] Pashta
וּשְׁפָחֹ֔ת [2] Zaqef
 
וַאֲתֹנֹ֖ת [2] Tip'cha
וּגְמַלִּֽים׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 2 3 2 16 And with Abram he dealt well [2]
because of her; [1]
 
and he had sheep and cattle [3]
and male donkeys, [2]
 
and male servants [3]
and female servants, [2]
 
and female donkeys [2]
and camels. [1]
17 וַיְנַגַּ֨ע יְהֹוָ֧ה ׀ אֶת־פַּרְעֹ֛ה [3] Tevir
נְגָעִ֥ים גְּדֹלִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
וְאֶת־בֵּית֑וֹ [1] Etnachta
 
עַל־דְּבַ֥ר שָׂרַ֖י [2] Tip'cha
אֵ֥שֶׁת אַבְרָֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 17 And the LORD afflicted Pharaoh [3]
with great plagues, [2]
and his house; [1]
 
because of Sarai [2]
Abram’s wife. [1]
18 וַיִּקְרָ֤א פַרְעֹה֙ [3] Pashta
לְאַבְרָ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
וַיֹּ֕אמֶר [2] ZaqefG
מַה־זֹּ֖את [2] Tip'cha
עָשִׂ֣יתָ לִּ֑י [1] Etnachta
 
לָ֚מָּה [3] Yetiv
לֹא־הִגַּ֣דְתָּ לִּ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
כִּ֥י אִשְׁתְּךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha
הִֽוא׃ [1] Silluq

Abram, [2]
 
and he said, [2]
“What is this [2]
you have done to me? [1]
 
Why [3]
didn’t you tell me [2]
 
that your wife [2]
she was? [1]
19 לָמָ֤ה אָמַ֙רְתָּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
אֲחֹ֣תִי הִ֔וא [2] Zaqef
 
וָאֶקַּ֥ח אֹתָ֛הּ [3] Tevir
לִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
לְאִשָּׁ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וְעַתָּ֕ה [2] ZaqefG
הִנֵּ֥ה אִשְׁתְּךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha
קַ֥ח וָלֵֽךְ׃ [1] Silluq

‘She is my sister,’ [2]
 
and I took her [3]
for myself [2]
as a wife? [1]
 
Now therefore, [2]
here is your wife, [2]
take her and go.” [1]
20 וַיְצַ֥ו עָלָ֛יו [3] Tevir
פַּרְעֹ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אֲנָשִׁ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
וַֽיְשַׁלְּח֥וּ אֹת֛וֹ [3] Tevir
וְאֶת־אִשְׁתּ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
וְאֶת־כׇּל־אֲשֶׁר־לֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 20 And he commanded concerning him, [3]
Pharaoh, [2]
men; [1]
 
and they escorted him away [3]
and his wife, [2]
and all that he had. [1]
