1 וַיֵּרָ֤א אֵלָיו֙ [3] Pashta יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef מַמְרֵ֑א [1] Etnachta יֹשֵׁ֥ב פֶּֽתַח־הָאֹ֖הֶל [2] Tip'cha כְּחֹ֥ם הַיּֽוֹם׃ [1] Silluq |
1 And he appeared to him, [3] the LORD, [2] of Mamre; [1] sat at the door of the tent, [2] in the heat of the day. [1] |

2 וַיִּשָּׂ֤א עֵינָיו֙ [3] Pashta וַיַּ֔רְא [2] Zaqef שְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה אֲנָשִׁ֔ים [2] Zaqef עָלָ֑יו [1] Etnachta וַיָּ֤רׇץ לִקְרָאתָם֙ [3] Pashta מִפֶּ֣תַח הָאֹ֔הֶל [2] Zaqef אָֽרְצָה׃ [1] Silluq |
2 And he lifted up his eyes [3] and he saw, [2] three men, [2] near him; [1] he ran to meet them [3] from the door of the tent, [2] to the ground, [1] |

3 וַיֹּאמַ֑ר [1] Etnachta אִם־נָ֨א מָצָ֤אתִי חֵן֙ [3] Pashta בְּעֵינֶ֔יךָ [2] Zaqef מֵעַ֥ל עַבְדֶּֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq |
3 and he said; [1] if now I have found favor [3] in your sight, [2] from your servant. [1] |

4 יֻקַּֽח־נָ֣א מְעַט־מַ֔יִם [2] Zaqef וְרַחֲצ֖וּ [2] Tip'cha רַגְלֵיכֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta תַּ֥חַת הָעֵֽץ׃ [1] Silluq |
4 Please let a little water be brought, [2] and wash [2] your feet; [1] under the tree. [1] |

5 וְאֶקְחָ֨ה פַת־לֶ֜חֶם [4] Geresh וְסַעֲד֤וּ לִבְּכֶם֙ [3] Pashta אַחַ֣ר תַּעֲבֹ֔רוּ [2] Zaqef עַֽל־עַבְדְּכֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta כֵּ֥ן תַּעֲשֶׂ֖ה [2] Tip'cha כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבַּֽרְתָּ׃ [1] Silluq |
5 And let me bring a piece of bread [4] and refresh your heart, [3] after that you may go your way, [2] to your servant.” [1] “Very well, you may do [2] just as you have said.” [1] |

6 וַיְמַהֵ֧ר אַבְרָהָ֛ם [3] Tevir הָאֹ֖הֱלָה [2] Tip'cha אֶל־שָׂרָ֑ה [1] Etnachta שְׁלֹ֤שׁ סְאִים֙ [3] Pashta קֶ֣מַח סֹ֔לֶת [2] Zaqef וַעֲשִׂ֥י עֻגֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq |
6 And Abraham hurried [3] into the tent, [2] to Sarah; [1] three seahs [3] of fine meal, [2] and make bread cakes.” [1] |

7 וְאֶל־הַבָּקָ֖ר [2] Tip'cha רָ֣ץ אַבְרָהָ֑ם [1] Etnachta רַ֤ךְ וָטוֹב֙ [3] Pashta וַיִּתֵּ֣ן אֶל־הַנַּ֔עַר [2] Zaqef לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת אֹתֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
7 And to the herd [2] Abraham ran; [1] tender and good, [3] and he gave it to the servant, [2] to prepare it. [1] |

8 וַיִּקַּ֨ח חֶמְאָ֜ה [4] Geresh וְחָלָ֗ב [3] Revi'i אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂ֔ה [2] Zaqef לִפְנֵיהֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta תַּ֥חַת הָעֵ֖ץ [2] Tip'cha וַיֹּאכֵֽלוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
8 And he brought butter [4] and milk, [3] which he had prepared, [2] before them; [1] under the tree, [2] and they ate. [1] |

9 וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ אֵׄלָ֔יׄוׄ [2] Zaqef אַיֵּ֖ה [2] Tip'cha שָׂרָ֣ה אִשְׁתֶּ֑ךָ [1] Etnachta הִנֵּ֥ה בָאֹֽהֶל׃ [1] Silluq |
9 And they said to him, [2] “Where [2] is Sarah, your wife?” [1] “There, in the tent.” [1] |

10 וַיֹּ֗אמֶר [3] Revi'i שׁ֣וֹב אָשׁ֤וּב אֵלֶ֙יךָ֙ [3 3] Pashta כָּעֵ֣ת חַיָּ֔ה [2] Zaqef לְשָׂרָ֣ה אִשְׁתֶּ֑ךָ [1] Etnachta פֶּ֥תַח הָאֹ֖הֶל [2] Tip'cha וְה֥וּא אַחֲרָֽיו׃ [1] Silluq |
10 And he said, [3] “I will certainly return to you [3 3] at about this time next year, [2] will be to Sarah your wife.” [1] from the opening of the tent, [2] which was behind him. [1] |

11 וְאַבְרָהָ֤ם וְשָׂרָה֙ [3] Pashta זְקֵנִ֔ים [2] Zaqef בַּיָּמִ֑ים [1] Etnachta לִהְי֣וֹת לְשָׂרָ֔ה [2] Zaqef כַּנָּשִֽׁים׃ [1] Silluq |
11 Now Abraham and Sarah [3] were old, [2] in days. [1] to be for Sarah, [2] of childbearing. [1] |

12 וַתִּצְחַ֥ק שָׂרָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha בְּקִרְבָּ֣הּ לֵאמֹ֑ר [1] Etnachta הָֽיְתָה־לִּ֣י עֶדְנָ֔ה [2] Zaqef זָקֵֽן׃ [1] Silluq |
12 And Sarah laughed [2] within herself, saying; [1] will I have pleasure, [2] he also being old?” [1] |

13 וַיֹּ֥אמֶר יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha אֶל־אַבְרָהָ֑ם [1] Etnachta לֵאמֹ֗ר [3] Revi'i אֵלֵ֖ד [2] Tip'cha |
13 And the LORD said [2] to Abraham; [1] saying, [3] will I bear a child [2] |

14 הֲיִפָּלֵ֥א מֵיְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha דָּבָ֑ר [1] Etnachta אָשׁ֥וּב אֵלֶ֛יךָ [3] Tevir כָּעֵ֥ת חַיָּ֖ה [2] Tip'cha וּלְשָׂרָ֥ה בֵֽן׃ [1] Silluq |
14 Is it too hard for the LORD, [2] anything? [1] I will return to you, [3] when this season returns, [2] and Sarah will have a son.” [1] |

15 וַתְּכַחֵ֨שׁ שָׂרָ֧ה ׀ לֵאמֹ֛ר [3] Tevir לֹ֥א צָחַ֖קְתִּי [2] Tip'cha כִּ֣י ׀ יָרֵ֑אָה [1] Etnachta כִּ֥י צָחָֽקְתְּ׃ [1] Silluq |
15 Then Sarah denied it saying, [3] “I didn’t laugh,” [2] for she was afraid; [1] but you did laugh.” [1] |

16 וַיָּקֻ֤מוּ מִשָּׁם֙ [3] Pashta הָֽאֲנָשִׁ֔ים [2] Zaqef עַל־פְּנֵ֣י סְדֹ֑ם [1] Etnachta הֹלֵ֥ךְ עִמָּ֖ם [2] Tip'cha לְשַׁלְּחָֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
16 And they rose up from there, [3] the men, [2] toward Sodom; [1] walked with them [2] to see them on their way. [1] |

17 וַֽיהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha אָמָ֑ר [1] Etnachta מֵֽאַבְרָהָ֔ם [2] Zaqef אֲנִ֥י עֹשֶֽׂה׃ [1] Silluq |
17 And the LORD [2] he said; [1] from Abraham [2] I am about to do, [1] |

18 וְאַ֨בְרָהָ֔ם [2] Zaqef לְג֥וֹי גָּד֖וֹל [2] Tip'cha וְעָצ֑וּם [1] Etnachta כֹּ֖ל [2] Tip'cha גּוֹיֵ֥י הָאָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq |
18 since Abraham, [2] a nation great [2] and mighty; [1] all [2] the nations of the earth? [1] |

19 כִּ֣י יְדַעְתִּ֗יו [3] Revi'i אֶת־בָּנָ֤יו וְאֶת־בֵּיתוֹ֙ [3] Pashta אַחֲרָ֔יו [2] Zaqef דֶּ֣רֶךְ יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef וּמִשְׁפָּ֑ט [1] Etnachta הָבִ֤יא יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta עַל־אַבְרָהָ֔ם [2] Zaqef עָלָֽיו׃ [1] Silluq |
19 For I have known him, [3] his children and his household [3] after him, [2] the way of the LORD, [2] and justice; [1] the LORD may bring [3] on Abraham [2] of him.” [1] |

20 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef סְדֹ֥ם וַעֲמֹרָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha כִּי־רָ֑בָּה [1] Etnachta כִּ֥י כָבְדָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha מְאֹֽד׃ [1] Silluq |
20 And the LORD said, [2] of Sodom and Gomorrah, [2] because it is great; [1] because it is heavy [2] very, [1] |

21 אֵֽרְדָה־נָּ֣א וְאֶרְאֶ֔ה [2] Zaqef הַבָּ֥אָה אֵלַ֖י [2] Tip'cha עָשׂ֣וּ ׀ כָּלָ֑ה [1] Etnachta אֵדָֽעָה׃ [1] Silluq |
21 I will go down now and I will see, [2] which has come to me, [2] have they done all this; [1] I will know.” [1] |

22 וַיִּפְנ֤וּ מִשָּׁם֙ [3] Pashta הָֽאֲנָשִׁ֔ים [2] Zaqef סְדֹ֑מָה [1] Etnachta עוֹדֶ֥נּוּ עֹמֵ֖ד [2] Tip'cha לִפְנֵ֥י יְהֹוָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
22 And they turned away from there [3] the men, [2] toward Sodom; [1] he still stood [2] before the LORD. [1] |

23 וַיִּגַּ֥שׁ אַבְרָהָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha וַיֹּאמַ֑ר [1] Etnachta צַדִּ֖יק [2] Tip'cha עִם־רָשָֽׁע׃ [1] Silluq |
23 And Abraham came near [2] and he said; [1] the righteous [2] with the wicked? [1] |
|||
24 אוּלַ֥י יֵ֛שׁ [3] Tevir חֲמִשִּׁ֥ים צַדִּיקִ֖ם [2] Tip'cha בְּת֣וֹךְ הָעִ֑יר [1] Etnachta וְלֹא־תִשָּׂ֣א לַמָּק֔וֹם [2] Zaqef חֲמִשִּׁ֥ים הַצַּדִּיקִ֖ם [2] Tip'cha אֲשֶׁ֥ר בְּקִרְבָּֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq |
24 What if there are [3] fifty righteous [2] within the city? [1] and not spare the place [2] the fifty righteous [2] who are in it? [1] |

25 חָלִ֨לָה לְּךָ֜ [4] Geresh מֵעֲשֹׂ֣ת ׀ [4] Legarmeh כַּדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֗ה [3] Revi'i עִם־רָשָׁ֔ע [2] Zaqef כָּרָשָׁ֑ע [1] Etnachta כׇּל־הָאָ֔רֶץ [2] Zaqef מִשְׁפָּֽט׃ [1] Silluq |
25 May it be far from you [4] to do [4] like this, [3] with the wicked, [2] like the wicked. [1] of all the earth, [2] right?” [1] |

26 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef חֲמִשִּׁ֥ים צַדִּיקִ֖ם [2] Tip'cha בְּת֣וֹךְ הָעִ֑יר [1] Etnachta בַּעֲבוּרָֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
26 And the LORD said, [2] fifty righteous [2] within the city; [1] because of them.” [1] |

27 וַיַּ֥עַן אַבְרָהָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha וַיֹּאמַ֑ר [1] Etnachta לְדַבֵּ֣ר אֶל־אֲדֹנָ֔י [2] Zaqef עָפָ֥ר וָאֵֽפֶר׃ [1] Silluq |
27 And Abraham answered [2] and he said; [1] to speak to the Lord, [2] am dust and ashes. [1] |

28 א֠וּלַ֠י [4 4] TelishaG יַחְסְר֞וּן [4] Gershayim חֲמִשִּׁ֤ים הַצַּדִּיקִם֙ [3] Pashta חֲמִשָּׁ֔ה [2] Zaqef אֶת־כׇּל־הָעִ֑יר [1] Etnachta לֹ֣א אַשְׁחִ֔ית [2] Zaqef אַרְבָּעִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha וַחֲמִשָּֽׁה׃ [1] Silluq |
28 What if [4 4] they will lack [4] the fifty righteous, [3] five? [2] all the city?” [1] “I will not destroy it, [2] forty [2] and five.” [1] |

29 וַיֹּ֨סֶף ע֜וֹד [4] Geresh לְדַבֵּ֤ר אֵלָיו֙ [3] Pashta וַיֹּאמַ֔ר [2] Zaqef יִמָּצְא֥וּן שָׁ֖ם [2] Tip'cha אַרְבָּעִ֑ים [1] Etnachta לֹ֣א אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֔ה [2] Zaqef הָאַרְבָּעִֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
29 And he yet again [4] spoke to him, [3] and he said, [2] they are found there, [2] forty?” [1] “I will not do it [2] the forty.” [1] |

30 וַ֠יֹּ֠אמֶר [4 4] TelishaG אַל־נָ֞א [4] Gershayim יִ֤חַר לַֽאדֹנָי֙ [3] Pashta וַאֲדַבֵּ֔רָה [2] Zaqef יִמָּצְא֥וּן שָׁ֖ם [2] Tip'cha שְׁלֹשִׁ֑ים [1] Etnachta לֹ֣א אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֔ה [2] Zaqef שְׁלֹשִֽׁים׃ [1] Silluq |
30 And he said, [4 4] “Please don't [4] let the Lord be angry, [3] and let me speak. [2] they are found there, [2] thirty?” [1] “I will not do it [2] thirty.” [1] |

31 וַיֹּ֗אמֶר [3] Revi'i הִנֵּֽה־נָ֤א הוֹאַ֙לְתִּי֙ [3 3] Pashta לְדַבֵּ֣ר אֶל־אֲדֹנָ֔י [2] Zaqef יִמָּצְא֥וּן שָׁ֖ם [2] Tip'cha עֶשְׂרִ֑ים [1] Etnachta לֹ֣א אַשְׁחִ֔ית [2] Zaqef הָֽעֶשְׂרִֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
31 And he said, [3] “See now, I have ventured [3 3] to speak to the Lord. [2] they are found there, [2] twenty?” [1] “I will not destroy it [2] the twenty.” [1] |

32 וַ֠יֹּ֠אמֶר [4 4] TelishaG אַל־נָ֞א [4] Gershayim יִ֤חַר לַֽאדֹנָי֙ [3] Pashta וַאֲדַבְּרָ֣ה אַךְ־הַפַּ֔עַם [2] Zaqef יִמָּצְא֥וּן שָׁ֖ם [2] Tip'cha עֲשָׂרָ֑ה [1] Etnachta לֹ֣א אַשְׁחִ֔ית [2] Zaqef הָעֲשָׂרָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
32 And he said, [4 4] “Please don’t [4] let the Lord be angry, [3] and let me speak just this one time more. [2] they are found there, [2] ten?” [1] “I will not destroy it [2] the ten.” [1] |

33 וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר כִּלָּ֔ה [2] Zaqef לְדַבֵּ֖ר [2] Tip'cha אֶל־אַבְרָהָ֑ם [1] Etnachta שָׁ֥ב לִמְקֹמֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
33 And the LORD went his way, [2] when he had finished [2] speaking [2] with Abraham; [1] he returned to his place. [1] |
