בראשית 20 Genesis 20
1 וַיִּסַּ֨ע מִשָּׁ֤ם אַבְרָהָם֙ [3] Pashta
אַ֣רְצָה הַנֶּ֔גֶב [2] Zaqef

וַיֵּ֥שֶׁב בֵּין־קָדֵ֖שׁ [2] Tip'cha
וּבֵ֣ין שׁ֑וּר [1] Etnachta

וַיָּ֖גׇר [2] Tip'cha
בִּגְרָֽר׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 1 And Abraham set out from there [3]
toward the land of the Negev, [2]

and he lived between Kadesh [2]
and Shur; [1]

and he lived as a foreigner [2]
in Gerar. [1]
2 וַיֹּ֧אמֶר אַבְרָהָ֛ם [3] Tevir
אֶל־שָׂרָ֥ה אִשְׁתּ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
אֲחֹ֣תִי הִ֑וא [1] Etnachta

וַיִּשְׁלַ֗ח [3] Revi'i
אֲבִימֶ֙לֶךְ֙ [3 3] Pashta
מֶ֣לֶךְ גְּרָ֔ר [2] Zaqef

וַיִּקַּ֖ח [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־שָׂרָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 3 2 2 And Abraham said [3]
about Sarah his wife, [2]
“She is my sister.” [1]

And he sent, [3]
Abimelech [3 3]
king of Gerar, [2]

and he took [2]
Sarah. [1]
3 וַיָּבֹ֧א אֱלֹהִ֛ים [3] Tevir
אֶל־אֲבִימֶ֖לֶךְ [2] Tip'cha
בַּחֲל֣וֹם הַלָּ֑יְלָה [1] Etnachta

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר ל֗וֹ [3] Revi'i
הִנְּךָ֥ מֵת֙ [3] Pashta

וְהִ֖וא [2] Tip'cha
בְּעֻ֥לַת בָּֽעַל׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 3 2 3 But God came [3]
to Abimelech [2]
in a dream of the night; [1]

and he said to him, [3]
“Behold, you are a dead man [3]
because of the woman whom you have taken, [2]

for she [2]
is a man’s wife.” [1]
4 וַאֲבִימֶ֕לֶךְ [2] ZaqefG
לֹ֥א קָרַ֖ב [2] Tip'cha
אֵלֶ֑יהָ [1] Etnachta

וַיֹּאמַ֕ר [2] ZaqefG
אֲדֹנָ֕י [2] ZaqefG
הֲג֥וֹי גַּם־צַדִּ֖יק [2] Tip'cha
תַּהֲרֹֽג׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 2 2 4 Now Abimelech, [2]
he had not come near [2]
to her; [1]

and he said, [2]
“Lord, [2]
even a righteous nation [2]
will you kill? [1]
5 הֲלֹ֨א ה֤וּא אָֽמַר־לִי֙ [3] Pashta

בְּתׇם־לְבָבִ֛י [3] Tevir
וּבְנִקְיֹ֥ן כַּפַּ֖י [2] Tip'cha
עָשִׂ֥יתִי זֹֽאת׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 5 Didn’t he tell me, [3]
‘She is my sister’? [2]

And she, even she herself said, [2]
‘He is my brother.’ [1]

In the integrity of my heart [3]
and in the innocence of my hands [2]
I have done this.” [1]
6 וַיֹּ֩אמֶר֩ אֵלָ֨יו הָֽאֱלֹהִ֜ים [4] Geresh
בַּחֲלֹ֗ם [3] Revi'i

גַּ֣ם אָנֹכִ֤י יָדַ֙עְתִּי֙ [3 3] Pashta

לִנְגֹּ֥עַ אֵלֶֽיהָ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 4 3 3 2 3 2 6 And God said to him [4]
in the dream, [3]

“Yes I know, [3 3]
that in the integrity of your heart [3]
you did this, [2]

and I also withheld [3]
you [2]
from sinning against me; [1]

therefore I didn’t allow you [2]
to touch her. [1]
7 וְעַתָּ֗ה [3] Revi'i
הָשֵׁ֤ב אֵֽשֶׁת־הָאִישׁ֙ [3] Pashta
כִּֽי־נָבִ֣יא ה֔וּא [2] Zaqef

אַתָּ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
וְכׇל־אֲשֶׁר־לָֽךְ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 2 2 3 2 7 Now therefore, [3]
restore the man’s wife [3]
for he is a prophet, [2]

and he will pray for you [2]
and (you will) live; [1]

but if you don’t restore her, [2]

know [3]
that you will surely die, [2]

you [2]
and all who are yours.” [1]
8 וַיַּשְׁכֵּ֨ם אֲבִימֶ֜לֶךְ [4] Geresh

וַיִּֽירְא֥וּ הָאֲנָשִׁ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
מְאֹֽד׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 4 3 2 3 2 8 And Abimelech rose early [4]
in the morning, [3]

and he called [3]
all his servants, [2]

and he spoke [3]
all these words [2]
in their ears; [1]

and the men were afraid [2]

1 2 3 4 3 4 2 3 2 3 2 9 Then Abimelech called [4]
Abraham, [3]

and he said to him, [4]
“What have you done to us? [3 3]
And how have I sinned against you, [2]

that you have brought on me [3]
and on my kingdom [2]

1 2 3 2 3 3 2 2 11 And he said, [3 3]
Abraham, [2]

“Because I thought, [3]
‘Surely [3]

and they will kill me [2]
because of my wife.’ [1]
