בראשית 20 | Genesis 20 | |||
1 And Abraham set out from there [3] toward the land of the Negev, [2] and Shur; [1] in Gerar. [1] |
2 And Abraham said [3] about Sarah his wife, [2] “She is my sister.” [1] Abimelech [3 3] king of Gerar, [2] Sarah. [1] |
3 But God came [3] to Abimelech [2] in a dream of the night; [1] “Behold, you are a dead man [3] because of the woman whom you have taken, [2] is a man’s wife.” [1] |
4 Now Abimelech, [2] he had not come near [2] to her; [1] “Lord, [2] even a righteous nation [2] will you kill? [1] |
5 Didn’t he tell me, [3] ‘She is my sister’? [2] ‘He is my brother.’ [1] and in the innocence of my hands [2] I have done this.” [1] |
6 And God said to him [4] in the dream, [3] that in the integrity of your heart [3] you did this, [2] you [2] from sinning against me; [1] to touch her. [1] |
7 Now therefore, [3] restore the man’s wife [3] for he is a prophet, [2] and (you will) live; [1] that you will surely die, [2] and all who are yours.” [1] |
8 And Abimelech rose early [4] in the morning, [3] all his servants, [2] all these words [2] in their ears; [1] very. [1] |
9 Then Abimelech called [4] Abraham, [3] “What have you done to us? [3 3] And how have I sinned against you, [2] and on my kingdom [2] a great sin? [1] that ought not to be done, [2] to me!” [1] |
10 And Abimelech said [2] to Abraham; [1] that you have done [2] this thing?” [1] |
11 And he said, [3 3] Abraham, [2] ‘Surely [3] the fear of God is not [2] this; [1] because of my wife.’ [1] |
12 And also indeed, [3] my sister the daughter of my father [3] she is, [2] not the daughter of my mother; [1] (my) wife. [1] |
13 And then [4] when he caused me to wander, [3] from the house of my father, [2] ‘This is your kindness [2] which you shall show [2] to me. [1] that we go, [2] “He is my brother.” ’ ” [1] |

[1] Silluq |
15 And Abimelech said, [2] “Behold, my land [2] is before you. [1] (you may) dwell.” [1] |

16 And to Sarah he said, [3] a thousand pieces of silver [3 3] to your brother. [2] a covering of the eyes [2] who are with you; [1] you are vindicated.” [1] |
17 And Abraham prayed [2] to God; [1] Abimelech and his wife, [3] and his female servants, [2] and they bore children. [1] |
