1 וַֽיהֹוָ֛ה [3] Tevir
פָּקַ֥ד אֶת־שָׂרָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר אָמָ֑ר [1] Etnachta
 
וַיַּ֧עַשׂ יְהֹוָ֛ה [3] Tevir
לְשָׂרָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבֵּֽר׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 1 And the LORD, [3]
he visited Sarah, [2]
just as he had said; [1]
 
and the LORD did [3]
to Sarah [2]
just as he had spoken. [1]
2 וַתַּ֩הַר֩ וַתֵּ֨לֶד שָׂרָ֧ה לְאַבְרָהָ֛ם [3] Tevir
בֵּ֖ן [2] Tip'cha
לִזְקֻנָ֑יו [1] Etnachta
 
לַמּוֹעֵ֕ד [2] ZaqefG
אֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּ֥ר אֹת֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
אֱלֹהִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 2 And she conceived and Sarah bore to Abraham [3]
a son [2]
in his old age; [1]
 
at the set time, [2]
of which he had spoken to him, [2]
God. [1]
3 וַיִּקְרָ֨א אַבְרָהָ֜ם [4] Geresh
אֶֽת־שֶׁם־בְּנ֧וֹ הַנּֽוֹלַד־ל֛וֹ [3] Tevir
אֲשֶׁר־יָלְדָה־לּ֥וֹ שָׂרָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
יִצְחָֽק׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 3 And Abraham called [4]
the name of his son who was born to him, [3]
whom Sarah had borne to him, [2]
Isaac. [1]
4 וַיָּ֤מׇל אַבְרָהָם֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־יִצְחָ֣ק בְּנ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
בֶּן־שְׁמֹנַ֖ת [2] Tip'cha
יָמִ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר [3] Tevir
צִוָּ֥ה אֹת֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
אֱלֹהִֽים׃ [1] Silluq

Isaac his son, [2]
 
a son of eight [2]
days; [1]
 
just as [3]
he had commanded him, [2]
God. [1]
5 וְאַבְרָהָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
בֶּן־מְאַ֣ת שָׁנָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
בְּהִוָּ֣לֶד ל֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
אֵ֖ת [2] Tip'cha
יִצְחָ֥ק בְּנֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 5 And Abraham [2]
was a son of one hundred years; [1]
 
when was born to him [2]

Isaac his son. [1]
6 וַתֹּ֣אמֶר שָׂרָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
צְחֹ֕ק [2] ZaqefG
עָ֥שָׂה לִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
אֱלֹהִ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
כׇּל־הַשֹּׁמֵ֖עַ [2] Tip'cha
יִֽצְחַק־לִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 2 6 And Sarah said, [2]
“Laughter, [2]
he has made for me, [2]
God; [1]
 
everyone who hears, [2]
he will laugh with me.” [1]
7 וַתֹּ֗אמֶר [3] Revi'i
מִ֤י מִלֵּל֙ [3] Pashta
לְאַבְרָהָ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
הֵינִ֥יקָה בָנִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
שָׂרָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
כִּֽי־יָלַ֥דְתִּי בֵ֖ן [2] Tip'cha
לִזְקֻנָֽיו׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 2 7 And she said, [3]
“Who would have said [3]
to Abraham [2]
 
that she would nurse children, [2]
Sarah? [1]
 
For I have borne him a son [2]
in his old age.” [1]
8 וַיִּגְדַּ֥ל הַיֶּ֖לֶד [2] Tip'cha
וַיִּגָּמַ֑ל [1] Etnachta
 
וַיַּ֤עַשׂ אַבְרָהָם֙ [3] Pashta
מִשְׁתֶּ֣ה גָד֔וֹל [2] Zaqef
 
בְּי֖וֹם [2] Tip'cha
הִגָּמֵ֥ל אֶת־יִצְחָֽק׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 2 8 And the child grew [2]
and he was weaned; [1]
 
and Abraham prepared [3]
a great feast [2]
 
on the day [2]
that Isaac was weaned. [1]
9 וַתֵּ֨רֶא שָׂרָ֜ה [4] Geresh
אֶֽת־בֶּן־הָגָ֧ר הַמִּצְרִ֛ית [3] Tevir
אֲשֶׁר־יָלְדָ֥ה לְאַבְרָהָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
מְצַחֵֽק׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 9 And Sarah saw [4]
the son of Hagar the Egyptian, [3]
whom she had borne to Abraham, [2]
mocking. [1]
10 וַתֹּ֙אמֶר֙ [3 3] Pashta
לְאַבְרָהָ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
גָּרֵ֛שׁ [3] Tevir
הָאָמָ֥ה הַזֹּ֖את [2] Tip'cha
וְאֶת־בְּנָ֑הּ [1] Etnachta
 
כִּ֣י לֹ֤א יִירַשׁ֙ [3] Pashta
בֶּן־הָאָמָ֣ה הַזֹּ֔את [2] Zaqef
 
עִם־בְּנִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
עִם־יִצְחָֽק׃ [1] Silluq

to Abraham, [2]
 
“Cast out [3]
this servant [2]
and her son! [1]
 
For he will not be heir, [3]
the son of this servant, [2]
 
with my son, [2]
with Isaac.” [1]
11 וַיֵּ֧רַע הַדָּבָ֛ר [3] Tevir
מְאֹ֖ד [2] Tip'cha
בְּעֵינֵ֣י אַבְרָהָ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
עַ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
אוֹדֹ֥ת בְּנֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 11 And the matter was grievous [3]
very, [2]
in Abraham’s sight; [1]
 
on [2]
account of his son. [1]
12 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֱלֹהִ֜ים [4] Geresh
אֶל־אַבְרָהָ֗ם [3] Revi'i
 
אַל־יֵרַ֤ע בְּעֵינֶ֙יךָ֙ [3 3] Pashta
עַל־הַנַּ֣עַר וְעַל־אֲמָתֶ֔ךָ [2] Zaqef
 
כֹּל֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר תֹּאמַ֥ר אֵלֶ֛יךָ [3] Tevir
שָׂרָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
שְׁמַ֣ע בְּקֹלָ֑הּ [1] Etnachta
 
כִּ֣י בְיִצְחָ֔ק [2] Zaqef
יִקָּרֵ֥א לְךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha
זָֽרַע׃ [1] Silluq

to Abraham, [3]
 
“Don’t let it be grievous in your sight [3 3]
because of the boy and because of your servant. [2]
 
In all that she says to you, [3]
Sarah, [2]
listen to her voice; [1]
 
for through Isaac, [2]
they will be named for you, [2]
offspring. [1]
13 וְגַ֥ם אֶת־בֶּן־הָאָמָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
לְג֣וֹי אֲשִׂימֶ֑נּוּ [1] Etnachta
 
כִּ֥י זַרְעֲךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha
הֽוּא׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 13 Also the son of the servant, [2]
I will make him into a nation; [1]
 
for your offspring [2]
he is.” [1]
14 וַיַּשְׁכֵּ֣ם אַבְרָהָ֣ם ׀ בַּבֹּ֡קֶר [4] Pazer
וַיִּֽקַּֽח־לֶ֩חֶם֩ וְחֵ֨מַת מַ֜יִם [4] Geresh
וַיִּתֵּ֣ן אֶל־הָ֠גָ֠ר [4 4] TelishaG
שָׂ֧ם עַל־שִׁכְמָ֛הּ [3] Tevir
 
וְאֶת־הַיֶּ֖לֶד [2] Tip'cha
 
וַֽיְשַׁלְּחֶ֑הָ [1] Etnachta
 
וַתֵּ֣לֶךְ וַתֵּ֔תַע [2] Zaqef
בְּמִדְבַּ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
בְּאֵ֥ר שָֽׁבַע׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 4 4 4 2 2 14 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, [4]
and he took bread and a skin of water, [4]
and he gave them to Hagar, [4 4]
putting it on her shoulder, [3]
 
and (gave her) the boy, [2]
 
and he sent her away; [1]
 
and she departed and she wandered, [2]
in the wilderness [2]
of Beersheba. [1]
15 וַיִּכְל֥וּ הַמַּ֖יִם [2] Tip'cha
מִן־הַחֵ֑מֶת [1] Etnachta
 
וַתַּשְׁלֵ֣ךְ אֶת־הַיֶּ֔לֶד [2] Zaqef
תַּ֖חַת [2] Tip'cha
אַחַ֥ד הַשִּׂיחִֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 15 And the water was finished [2]
from the skin; [1]
 
and she put the boy [2]
under [2]
one of the bushes. [1]
16 וַתֵּ֩לֶךְ֩ וַתֵּ֨שֶׁב לָ֜הּ [4] Geresh
מִנֶּ֗גֶד [3] Revi'i
 
הַרְחֵק֙ [3] Pashta
כִּמְטַחֲוֵ֣י קֶ֔שֶׁת [2] Zaqef
 
כִּ֣י אָֽמְרָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
אַל־אֶרְאֶ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
בְּמ֣וֹת הַיָּ֑לֶד [1] Etnachta
 
וַתֵּ֣שֶׁב מִנֶּ֔גֶד [2] Zaqef
וַתִּשָּׂ֥א אֶת־קֹלָ֖הּ [2] Tip'cha
וַתֵּֽבְךְּ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 4 3 2 2 2 2 16 And she went and she sat herself [4]
opposite him, [3]
 
at a distance [3]
about a bow shot away, [2]
 
for she said, [2]
“Don’t let me see [2]
the death of the boy.” [1]
 
And she sat opposite him, [2]
and she lifted up her voice [2]
and she wept. [1]
17 וַיִּשְׁמַ֣ע אֱלֹהִים֮ [3] Zarqa
אֶת־ק֣וֹל הַנַּ֒עַר֒ [2 2] Segol
 
וַיִּקְרָא֩ מַלְאַ֨ךְ אֱלֹהִ֤ים ׀ אֶל־הָגָר֙ [3] Pashta
מִן־הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם [2] Zaqef
 
וַיֹּ֥אמֶר לָ֖הּ [2] Tip'cha
מַה־לָּ֣ךְ הָגָ֑ר [1] Etnachta
 
אַל־תִּ֣ירְאִ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
כִּֽי־שָׁמַ֧ע אֱלֹהִ֛ים [3] Tevir
אֶל־ק֥וֹל הַנַּ֖עַר [2] Tip'cha
בַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר הוּא־שָֽׁם׃ [1] Silluq

the voice of the boy, [2 2]
 
and the angel of God called to Hagar [3]
out of the sky [2]
 
and he said to her, [2]
“What troubles you, Hagar? [1]
 
Don’t be afraid; [2]
 
for God has heard [3]
the voice of the boy [2]
where he is. [1]
18 ק֚וּמִי [3] Yetiv
שְׂאִ֣י אֶת־הַנַּ֔עַר [2] Zaqef
 
וְהַחֲזִ֥יקִי אֶת־יָדֵ֖ךְ [2] Tip'cha
בּ֑וֹ [1] Etnachta
 
כִּֽי־לְג֥וֹי גָּד֖וֹל [2] Tip'cha
אֲשִׂימֶֽנּוּ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 18 Get up, [3]
lift up the boy, [2]
 
and take hold with your hand [2]
on him; [1]
 
for into a great nation [2]
I will make him.” [1]
19 וַיִּפְקַ֤ח אֱלֹהִים֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־עֵינֶ֔יהָ [2] Zaqef
 
וַתֵּ֖רֶא [2] Tip'cha
בְּאֵ֣ר מָ֑יִם [1] Etnachta
 
וַתֵּ֜לֶךְ [4] Geresh
וַתְּמַלֵּ֤א אֶת־הַחֵ֙מֶת֙ [3 3] Pashta
מַ֔יִם [2] Zaqef
 
וַתַּ֖שְׁקְ [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־הַנָּֽעַר׃ [1] Silluq

her eyes, [2]
 
and she saw [2]
a well of water; [1]
 
and she went [4]
and she filled the skin [3 3]
with water, [2]
 
and she gave a drink to [2]
the boy. [1]
20 וַיְהִ֧י אֱלֹהִ֛ים [3] Tevir
אֶת־הַנַּ֖עַר [2] Tip'cha
וַיִּגְדָּ֑ל [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֵּ֙שֶׁב֙ [3 3] Pashta
בַּמִּדְבָּ֔ר [2] Zaqef
 
וַיְהִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
רֹבֶ֥ה קַשָּֽׁת׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 2 20 And God was [3]
with the boy, [2]
and he grew; [1]
 
and he lived [3 3]
in the wilderness, [2]
 
and he became [2]
an archer. [1]
21 וַיֵּ֖שֶׁב [2] Tip'cha
בְּמִדְבַּ֣ר פָּארָ֑ן [1] Etnachta
 
וַתִּֽקַּֽח־ל֥וֹ אִמּ֛וֹ [3] Tevir
אִשָּׁ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
מֵאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ [1] Silluq

in the wilderness of Paran; [1]
 
and his mother got for him [3]
a wife [2]
from the land of Egypt. [1]
22 וַֽיְהִי֙ [3] Pashta
בָּעֵ֣ת הַהִ֔וא [2] Zaqef
 
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲבִימֶ֗לֶךְ [3] Revi'i
וּפִיכֹל֙ [3] Pashta
שַׂר־צְבָא֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
אֶל־אַבְרָהָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
לֵאמֹ֑ר [1] Etnachta
 
אֱלֹהִ֣ים עִמְּךָ֔ [2] Zaqef
בְּכֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־אַתָּ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
עֹשֶֽׂה׃ [1] Silluq

at that time, [2]
 
Abimelech said, [3]
and Phicol [3]
the captain of his army, [2]
 
to Abraham [2]
saying; [1]
 
“God is with you [2]
in all that you [2]
do. [1]
23 וְעַתָּ֗ה [3] Revi'i
הִשָּׁ֨בְעָה לִּ֤י בֵֽאלֹהִים֙ [3] Pashta
הֵ֔נָּה [2] Zaqef
 
אִם־תִּשְׁקֹ֣ר לִ֔י [2] Zaqef
וּלְנִינִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
וּלְנֶכְדִּ֑י [1] Etnachta
 
כַּחֶ֜סֶד [4] Geresh
אֲשֶׁר־עָשִׂ֤יתִי עִמְּךָ֙ [3] Pashta
תַּעֲשֶׂ֣ה עִמָּדִ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
וְעִם־הָאָ֖רֶץ [2] Tip'cha
אֲשֶׁר־גַּ֥רְתָּה בָּֽהּ׃ [1] Silluq

swear to me by God [3]
here, [2]
 
that you will not deal falsely with me, [2]
nor with my son [2]
nor with my son’s son; [1]
 
but according to the kindness [4]
that I have done to you, [3]
you shall do to me, [2]
 
and to the land [2]
in which you have lived as a foreigner.” [1]
24 וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ [3 3] Pashta
אַבְרָהָ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
אָנֹכִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
אִשָּׁבֵֽעַ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 24 And he said, [3 3]
Abraham, [2]
 
“I, [2]
I will swear.” [1]
25 וְהוֹכִ֥חַ אַבְרָהָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־אֲבִימֶ֑לֶךְ [1] Etnachta
 
עַל־אֹדוֹת֙ [3] Pashta
בְּאֵ֣ר הַמַּ֔יִם [2] Zaqef
 
אֲשֶׁ֥ר גָּזְל֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
עַבְדֵ֥י אֲבִימֶֽלֶךְ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 2 25 And Abraham complained [2]
to Abimelech; [1]
 
about [3]
a well of water [2]
 
which they had seized, [2]
the servants of Abimelech. [1]
26 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲבִימֶ֔לֶךְ [2] Zaqef
לֹ֣א יָדַ֔עְתִּי [2] Zaqef
מִ֥י עָשָׂ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־הַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וְגַם־אַתָּ֞ה [4] Gershayim
לֹא־הִגַּ֣דְתָּ לִּ֗י [3] Revi'i
 
וְגַ֧ם אָנֹכִ֛י [3] Tevir
לֹ֥א שָׁמַ֖עְתִּי [2] Tip'cha
 
בִּלְתִּ֥י הַיּֽוֹם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 2 3 4 3 26 And Abimelech said, [2]
“I don’t know [2]
who has done [2]
this thing; [1]
 
and you, [4]
you didn’t tell me, [3]
 
and I, [3]
I didn’t hear of it, [2]
 
until today.” [1]
27 וַיִּקַּ֤ח אַבְרָהָם֙ [3] Pashta
צֹ֣אן וּבָקָ֔ר [2] Zaqef
 
וַיִּתֵּ֖ן [2] Tip'cha
לַאֲבִימֶ֑לֶךְ [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּכְרְת֥וּ שְׁנֵיהֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
בְּרִֽית׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 27 And Abraham took [3]
sheep and cattle, [2]
 
and he gave them [2]
to Abimelech; [1]
 
and they made, the two of them, [2]
a covenant. [1]
28 וַיַּצֵּ֣ב אַבְרָהָ֗ם [3] Revi'i
אֶת־שֶׁ֛בַע [3] Tevir
כִּבְשֹׂ֥ת הַצֹּ֖אן [2] Tip'cha
לְבַדְּהֶֽן׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 3 28 And Abraham set [3]
seven [3]
ewe lambs of the flock [2]
by themselves. [1]
29 וַיֹּ֥אמֶר אֲבִימֶ֖לֶךְ [2] Tip'cha
אֶל־אַבְרָהָ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
מָ֣ה הֵ֗נָּה [3] Revi'i
שֶׁ֤בַע כְּבָשֹׂת֙ [3] Pashta
הָאֵ֔לֶּה [2] Zaqef
 
אֲשֶׁ֥ר הִצַּ֖בְתָּ [2] Tip'cha
לְבַדָּֽנָה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 3 2 29 And Abimelech said [2]
to Abraham; [1]
 
“What do they mean, [3]
seven ewe lambs [3]
these, [2]
 
which you have set [2]
by themselves?” [1]
30 וַיֹּ֕אמֶר [2] ZaqefG
 
כִּ֚י [3] Yetiv
אֶת־שֶׁ֣בַע כְּבָשֹׂ֔ת [2] Zaqef
 
תִּקַּ֖ח [2] Tip'cha
מִיָּדִ֑י [1] Etnachta
 
בַּעֲבוּר֙ [3] Pashta
תִּֽהְיֶה־לִּ֣י לְעֵדָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
כִּ֥י חָפַ֖רְתִּי [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־הַבְּאֵ֥ר הַזֹּֽאת׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 2 2 3 2 30 And he said, [2]
 
“These [3]
seven ewe lambs [2]
 
you shall take [2]
from my hand; [1]
 
that [3]
it may be a witness for me, [2]
 
that I dug [2]
this well.” [1]
31 עַל־כֵּ֗ן [3] Revi'i
קָרָ֛א [3] Tevir
לַמָּק֥וֹם הַה֖וּא [2] Tip'cha
בְּאֵ֣ר שָׁ֑בַע [1] Etnachta
 
כִּ֛י [3] Tevir
שָׁ֥ם נִשְׁבְּע֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
שְׁנֵיהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 3 31 Therefore [3]
he called [3]
that place [2]
Beersheba; [1]
 
because [3]
there they swore an oath, [2]
the two of them. [1]
32 וַיִּכְרְת֥וּ בְרִ֖ית [2] Tip'cha
בִּבְאֵ֣ר שָׁ֑בַע [1] Etnachta
 
וַיָּ֣קׇם אֲבִימֶ֗לֶךְ [3] Revi'i
וּפִיכֹל֙ [3] Pashta
שַׂר־צְבָא֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
וַיָּשֻׁ֖בוּ [2] Tip'cha
אֶל־אֶ֥רֶץ פְּלִשְׁתִּֽים׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 3 2 32 And they made a covenant [2]
at Beersheba; [1]
 
and Abimelech rose up, [3]
with Phicol, [3]
the captain of his army, [2]
 
and they returned [2]
to the land of the Philistines. [1]
33 וַיִּטַּ֥ע אֶ֖שֶׁל [2] Tip'cha
בִּבְאֵ֣ר שָׁ֑בַע [1] Etnachta
 
וַיִּ֨קְרָא־שָׁ֔ם [2] Zaqef
בְּשֵׁ֥ם יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אֵ֥ל עוֹלָֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 33 And he planted a tamarisk tree [2]
in Beersheba; [1]
 
and called there, [2]
on the name of the LORD [2]
the Everlasting God. [1]
34 וַיָּ֧גׇר אַבְרָהָ֛ם [3] Tevir
בְּאֶ֥רֶץ פְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
יָמִ֥ים רַבִּֽים׃ [1] Silluq

2 3 34 And Abraham lived as a foreigner [3]
in the land of the Philistines [2]
many days. [1]
