הַדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה [2] Zaqef
 
וְהָ֣אֱלֹהִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
נִסָּ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־אַבְרָהָ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלָ֔יו [2] Zaqef
אַבְרָהָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
וַיֹּ֥אמֶר הִנֵּֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq

God, [2]
he tested [2]
Abraham; [1]
 
and he said to him, [2]
“Abraham!” [2]
And he said, “Here I am.” [1]

קַח־נָ֠א [4] TelishaG
אֶת־בִּנְךָ֨ אֶת־יְחִֽידְךָ֤ אֲשֶׁר־אָהַ֙בְתָּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
אֶת־יִצְחָ֔ק [2] Zaqef
 
וְלֶ֨ךְ־לְךָ֔ [2] Zaqef
אֶל־אֶ֖רֶץ [2] Tip'cha
הַמֹּרִיָּ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וְהַעֲלֵ֤הוּ שָׁם֙ [3] Pashta
לְעֹלָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
עַ֚ל [3] Yetiv
אַחַ֣ד הֶֽהָרִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
אֲשֶׁ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
אֹמַ֥ר אֵלֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq

your son, your only son whom you love, [3 3]
Isaac, [2]
 
and go [2]
into the land [2]
of Moriah; [1]
 
and offer him there [3]
as a burnt offering, [2]

one of the mountains [2]
 
of which [2]
I will tell you.” [1]

אֶת־חֲמֹר֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
וַיִּקַּ֞ח [4] Gershayim
אֶת־שְׁנֵ֤י נְעָרָיו֙ [3] Pashta
אִתּ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
וְאֵ֖ת [2] Tip'cha
יִצְחָ֣ק בְּנ֑וֹ [1] Etnachta
 
וַיְבַקַּע֙ [3] Pashta
עֲצֵ֣י עֹלָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
וַיָּ֣קׇם וַיֵּ֔לֶךְ [2] Zaqef
אֶל־הַמָּק֖וֹם [2] Tip'cha
אֲשֶׁר־אָֽמַר־ל֥וֹ הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ [1] Silluq

and he saddled [3]
his donkey, [2]
 
and he took [4]
two of his servants [3]
with him, [2]
 
and [2]
Isaac his son; [1]
 
and he cut [3]
wood for the burnt offering, [2]
 
and he rose up and he went, [2]
to the place [2]
of which God had told him. [1]
4 בַּיּ֣וֹם הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֗י [3] Revi'i
וַיִּשָּׂ֨א אַבְרָהָ֧ם אֶת־עֵינָ֛יו [3] Tevir
וַיַּ֥רְא אֶת־הַמָּק֖וֹם [2] Tip'cha
מֵרָחֹֽק׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 3 4 On the third day [3]
Abraham lifted up his eyes [3]
and he saw the place, [2]
far off. [1]
5 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אַבְרָהָ֜ם [4] Geresh
אֶל־נְעָרָ֗יו [3] Revi'i
 
שְׁבוּ־לָכֶ֥ם פֹּה֙ [3] Pashta
עִֽם־הַחֲמ֔וֹר [2] Zaqef
 
וַאֲנִ֣י וְהַנַּ֔עַר [2] Zaqef
נֵלְכָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
עַד־כֹּ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וְנִֽשְׁתַּחֲוֶ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
וְנָשׁ֥וּבָה אֲלֵיכֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq

to his servants, [3]
 
“You stay here [3]
with the donkey, [2]
 
and I and the boy, [2]
we will go [2]
over there; [1]
 
and we will worship, [2]
then we will return to you.” [1]
6 וַיִּקַּ֨ח אַבְרָהָ֜ם [4] Geresh
אֶת־עֲצֵ֣י הָעֹלָ֗ה [3] Revi'i
 
וַיָּ֙שֶׂם֙ [3 3] Pashta
עַל־יִצְחָ֣ק בְּנ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
וַיִּקַּ֣ח בְּיָד֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
אֶת־הָאֵ֖שׁ [2] Tip'cha
וְאֶת־הַֽמַּאֲכֶ֑לֶת [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֵּלְכ֥וּ שְׁנֵיהֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
יַחְדָּֽו׃ [1] Silluq

the wood of the burnt offering, [3]
 
and he laid it [3 3]
on Isaac his son, [2]
 
and he took in his hand [2]
the fire [2]
and the knife; [1]
 
and they went, the two of them [2]
together. [1]
7 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יִצְחָ֜ק [4] Geresh
אֶל־אַבְרָהָ֤ם אָבִיו֙ [3] Pashta
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אָבִ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
וַיֹּ֖אמֶר [2] Tip'cha
הִנֶּ֣נִּֽי בְנִ֑י [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֹּ֗אמֶר [3] Revi'i
הִנֵּ֤ה הָאֵשׁ֙ [3] Pashta
וְהָ֣עֵצִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
וְאַיֵּ֥ה הַשֶּׂ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
לְעֹלָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

to Abraham his father, [3]
and he said, “My father?” [2]
 
And he said, [2]
“Here I am, my son.” [1]
 
And he said, [3]
“Here is the fire [3]
and the wood, [2]
 
but where is the lamb [2]
for a burnt offering?” [1]
8 וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ [3 3] Pashta
אַבְרָהָ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
אֱלֹהִ֞ים [4] Gershayim
יִרְאֶה־לּ֥וֹ הַשֶּׂ֛ה [3] Tevir
לְעֹלָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
בְּנִ֑י [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֵּלְכ֥וּ שְׁנֵיהֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
יַחְדָּֽו׃ [1] Silluq

Abraham, [2]
 
“God, [4]
he will provide himself the lamb [3]
for a burnt offering, [2]
my son.” [1]
 
So they went, the two of them [2]
together. [1]
9 וַיָּבֹ֗אוּ [3] Revi'i
אֶֽל־הַמָּקוֹם֮ [3] Zarqa
אֲשֶׁ֣ר אָֽמַר־ל֣וֹ הָאֱלֹהִים֒ [2] Segol
 
וַיִּ֨בֶן שָׁ֤ם אַבְרָהָם֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַ [2] Zaqef
 
וַֽיַּעֲרֹ֖ךְ [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־הָעֵצִ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
וַֽיַּעֲקֹד֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־יִצְחָ֣ק בְּנ֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
וַיָּ֤שֶׂם אֹתוֹ֙ [3] Pashta
עַל־הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַ [2] Zaqef
 
מִמַּ֖עַל [2] Tip'cha
לָעֵצִֽים׃ [1] Silluq

to the place [3]
which God had told him of, [2]
 
and Abraham built there [3]
the altar, [2]
 
and he laid in order [2]
the wood; [1]
 
and he bound [3]
Isaac his son, [2]
 
and he put him [3]
on the altar, [2]
 
onto [2]
the wood. [1]
10 וַיִּשְׁלַ֤ח אַבְרָהָם֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־יָד֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
וַיִּקַּ֖ח [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־הַֽמַּאֲכֶ֑לֶת [1] Etnachta
 
לִשְׁחֹ֖ט [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־בְּנֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq

his hand [2]
 
and he took [2]
the knife; [1]
 
to kill [2]
his son. [1]
11 וַיִּקְרָ֨א אֵלָ֜יו [4] Geresh
מַלְאַ֤ךְ יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta
מִן־הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם [2] Zaqef
 
וַיֹּ֖אמֶר [2] Tip'cha
אַבְרָהָ֣ם ׀ אַבְרָהָ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֹּ֖אמֶר [2] Tip'cha
הִנֵּֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq

the angel of the LORD [3]
out of the sky, [2]
 
and he said, [2]
“Abraham, Abraham!” [1]
 
And he said, [2]
“Here I am.” [1]
12 וַיֹּ֗אמֶר [3] Revi'i
אַל־תִּשְׁלַ֤ח יָֽדְךָ֙ [3] Pashta
אֶל־הַנַּ֔עַר [2] Zaqef
 
וְאַל־תַּ֥עַשׂ ל֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
מְא֑וּמָה [1] Etnachta
 
כִּ֣י ׀ [4] Legarmeh
עַתָּ֣ה יָדַ֗עְתִּי [3] Revi'i
 
כִּֽי־יְרֵ֤א אֱלֹהִים֙ [3] Pashta
אַ֔תָּה [2] Zaqef
 
וְלֹ֥א חָשַׂ֛כְתָּ [3] Tevir
אֶת־בִּנְךָ֥ אֶת־יְחִידְךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha
מִמֶּֽנִּי׃ [1] Silluq

“Don’t lay your hand [3]
on the boy, [2]
 
and don't do to him [2]
anything; [1]
 
for [4]
now I know [3]
 
that fearing of God [3]
are you, [2]
 
and you have not withheld [3]
your son, your only son, [2]
from me.” [1]
13 וַיִּשָּׂ֨א אַבְרָהָ֜ם [4] Geresh
אֶת־עֵינָ֗יו [3] Revi'i
 
וַיַּרְא֙ [3] Pashta
וְהִנֵּה־אַ֔יִל [2] Zaqef
 
אַחַ֕ר [2] ZaqefG
נֶאֱחַ֥ז בַּסְּבַ֖ךְ [2] Tip'cha
בְּקַרְנָ֑יו [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֵּ֤לֶךְ אַבְרָהָם֙ [3] Pashta
וַיִּקַּ֣ח אֶת־הָאַ֔יִל [2] Zaqef
 
וַיַּעֲלֵ֥הוּ לְעֹלָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
תַּ֥חַת בְּנֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq

his eyes, [3]
 
and he looked [3]
and behold, a ram, [2]
 
behind (him), [2]
it was caught in the thicket [2]
by its horns; [1]
 
and Abraham went [3]
and he took the ram, [2]
 
and he offered it up for a burnt offering [2]
in place of his son. [1]
14 וַיִּקְרָ֧א אַבְרָהָ֛ם [3] Tevir
שֵֽׁם־הַמָּק֥וֹם הַה֖וּא [2] Tip'cha
יְהֹוָ֣ה ׀ יִרְאֶ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
אֲשֶׁר֙ [3] Pashta
יֵאָמֵ֣ר הַיּ֔וֹם [2] Zaqef
 
בְּהַ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
יֵרָאֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq

the name of that place, [2]
“the LORD he will provide,” [1]
 
as [3]
it is said to this day, [2]
 
“On the mountain of the LORD [2]
it will be provided.” [1]
15 וַיִּקְרָ֛א [3] Tevir
מַלְאַ֥ךְ יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אֶל־אַבְרָהָ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
שֵׁנִ֖ית [2] Tip'cha
מִן־הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 15 And he called, [3]
the angel of the LORD [2]
to Abraham; [1]
 
a second time [2]
out of the sky, [1]
16 וַיֹּ֕אמֶר [2] ZaqefG
בִּ֥י נִשְׁבַּ֖עְתִּי [2] Tip'cha
נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
כִּ֗י [3] Revi'i
יַ֚עַן [3] Yetiv
אֲשֶׁ֤ר עָשִׂ֙יתָ֙ [3 3] Pashta
אֶת־הַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
וְלֹ֥א חָשַׂ֖כְתָּ [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־בִּנְךָ֥ אֶת־יְחִידֶֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq

“ ‘I swear by myself,’ [2]
says the LORD; [1]
 
‘that [3]
because [3]
you have done [3 3]
this thing, [2]
 
and have not withheld [2]
your son, your only son, [1]
17 כִּֽי־בָרֵ֣ךְ אֲבָרֶכְךָ֗ [3] Revi'i
וְהַרְבָּ֨ה אַרְבֶּ֤ה אֶֽת־זַרְעֲךָ֙ [3] Pashta
כְּכוֹכְבֵ֣י הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם [2] Zaqef
 
וְכַח֕וֹל [2] ZaqefG
אֲשֶׁ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
עַל־שְׂפַ֣ת הַיָּ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וְיִרַ֣שׁ זַרְעֲךָ֔ [2] Zaqef
אֵ֖ת [2] Tip'cha
שַׁ֥עַר אֹיְבָֽיו׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 2 2 2 17 that surely I will bless you, [3]
and greatly I will multiply your offspring [3]
like the stars of the heavens, [2]
 
and like the sand [2]
which [2]
is on the shore of the sea; [1]
 
and your offspring will take possession of [2]
the [2]
gate of his enemies. [1]
18 וְהִתְבָּרְכ֣וּ בְזַרְעֲךָ֔ [2] Zaqef
כֹּ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
גּוֹיֵ֣י הָאָ֑רֶץ [1] Etnachta
 
עֵ֕קֶב [2] ZaqefG
אֲשֶׁ֥ר שָׁמַ֖עְתָּ [2] Tip'cha
בְּקֹלִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 2 18 And they will be blessed by your offspring, [2]
all [2]
the nations of the earth; [1]
 
because [2]
you have obeyed [2]
my voice.’ ” [1]
19 וַיָּ֤שׇׁב אַבְרָהָם֙ [3] Pashta
אֶל־נְעָרָ֔יו [2] Zaqef
 
וַיָּקֻ֛מוּ [3] Tevir
וַיֵּלְכ֥וּ יַחְדָּ֖ו [2] Tip'cha
אֶל־בְּאֵ֣ר שָׁ֑בַע [1] Etnachta
 
וַיֵּ֥שֶׁב אַבְרָהָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
בִּבְאֵ֥ר שָֽׁבַע׃ [1] Silluq

to his servants, [2]
 
and they rose up [3]
and they went together [2]
to Beersheba; [1]
 
and Abraham lived [2]
in Beersheba. [1]
20 וַיְהִ֗י [3] Revi'i

הַדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה [2] Zaqef
 
וַיֻּגַּ֥ד לְאַבְרָהָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
לֵאמֹ֑ר [1] Etnachta
 
הִ֠נֵּ֠ה [4 4] TelishaG
יָלְדָ֨ה מִלְכָּ֥ה גַם־הִ֛וא [3] Tevir
בָּנִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
לְנָח֥וֹר אָחִֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq

“Behold [4 4]
Milcah, she also has borne [3]
children, [2]
to Nahor your brother. [1]
21 אֶת־ע֥וּץ בְּכֹר֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
וְאֶת־בּ֣וּז אָחִ֑יו [1] Etnachta
 
וְאֶת־קְמוּאֵ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
אֲבִ֥י אֲרָֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 21 Uz his firstborn [2]
and Buz his brother; [1]
 
and Kemuel [2]
the father of Aram, [1]
22 וְאֶת־כֶּ֣שֶׂד וְאֶת־חֲז֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
וְאֶת־פִּלְדָּ֖שׁ [2] Tip'cha
וְאֶת־יִדְלָ֑ף [1] Etnachta
 
וְאֵ֖ת [2] Tip'cha
בְּתוּאֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 22 and Chesed and Hazo, [2]
and Pildash [2]
and Jidlaph; [1]
 
and [2]
Bethuel.” [1]
23 וּבְתוּאֵ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
יָלַ֣ד אֶת־רִבְקָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
שְׁמֹנָ֥ה אֵ֙לֶּה֙ [3 3] Pashta
יָלְדָ֣ה מִלְכָּ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
לְנָח֖וֹר [2] Tip'cha
אֲחִ֥י אַבְרָהָֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 2 23 And Bethuel, [2]
to him was born Rebekah. [1]
 
These eight [3 3]
Milcah bore, [2]
 
to Nahor [2]
the brother of Abraham. [1]
24 וּפִֽילַגְשׁ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
וּשְׁמָ֣הּ רְאוּמָ֑ה [1] Etnachta
 
וַתֵּ֤לֶד גַּם־הִוא֙ [3] Pashta
אֶת־טֶ֣בַח וְאֶת־גַּ֔חַם [2] Zaqef
 
וְאֶת־תַּ֖חַשׁ [2] Tip'cha
וְאֶֽת־מַעֲכָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
