1 2 2 2 3 2 2 1 And the man, [2]
he knew [2]
Havah his wife; [1]

and she conceived [3 3]
and she gave birth to Cain, [2]

and she said, [2]
“I have gotten a man [2]
with the LORD’s help.” [1]
2 וַתֹּ֣סֶף לָלֶ֔דֶת [2] Zaqef
אֶת־אָחִ֖יו [2] Tip'cha

1 2 2 2 3 2 2 2 And she again gave birth, [2]
to his brother, [2]
to Abel. [1]

Now Abel was [3 3]
a keeper of sheep, [2]

and Cain, [2]
he was [2]
a tiller of the ground. [1]
3 וַֽיְהִ֖י [2] Tip'cha

1 2 3 2 2 4 And Abel, he brought, he also [3]
some of the firstborn of his flock [2]

The LORD looked with favor [2]
on Abel [2]
and on his offering, [1]

he did not look with favor. [1]

Cain was angry [3 3]
