1 כִּ֛י [3] Tevir
נַ֥עַר יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
וָאֹהֲבֵ֑הוּ [1] Etnachta
 
וּמִמִּצְרַ֖יִם [2] Tip'cha
קָרָ֥אתִי לִבְנִֽי׃ [1] Silluq

Israel was a child, [2]
I loved him; [1]
 
and from Egypt [2]
I called my son. [1]
2 קָרְא֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
לָהֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
כֵּ֚ן [3] Yetiv
הָלְכ֣וּ מִפְּנֵיהֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
לַבְּעָלִ֣ים יְזַבֵּ֔חוּ [2] Zaqef
וְלַפְּסִלִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
יְקַטֵּרֽוּן׃ [1] Silluq

to them; [1]
 
so [3]
they went from before them, [2]
 
to the Baals they sacrificed, [2]
and to the idols [2]
they burned incense. [1]
3 וְאָנֹכִ֤י תִרְגַּ֙לְתִּי֙ [3 3] Pashta
לְאֶפְרַ֔יִם [2] Zaqef
 
קָחָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
עַל־זְרוֹעֹתָ֑יו [1] Etnachta
 
וְלֹ֥א יָדְע֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
כִּ֥י רְפָאתִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 Yet it was I who taught (him) to walk, [3 3]
Ephraim, [2]
 
I took them [2]
on my arms; [1]
 
but they didn’t know [2]
it was I who had healed them. [1]
4 בְּחַבְלֵ֨י אָדָ֤ם אֶמְשְׁכֵם֙ [3] Pashta
בַּעֲבֹת֣וֹת אַהֲבָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
וָאֶהְיֶ֥ה לָהֶ֛ם [3] Tevir
כִּמְרִ֥ימֵי עֹ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
עַ֣ל לְחֵיהֶ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
וְאַ֥ט אֵלָ֖יו [2] Tip'cha
אוֹכִֽיל׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 2 4 With human cords I drew them, [3]
with thick cords of love, [2]
 
and I was to them [3]
like those who ease a yoke [2]
on their jaws; [1]
 
and I bent down to him, [2]
I fed (him). [1]
5 לֹ֤א יָשׁוּב֙ [3] Pashta
אֶל־אֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם [2] Zaqef
 
וְאַשּׁ֖וּר [2] Tip'cha
ה֣וּא מַלְכּ֑וֹ [1] Etnachta
 
כִּ֥י מֵאֲנ֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
לָשֽׁוּב׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 5 “He won’t return [3]
to the land of Egypt, [2]
 
but Assyria, [2]
it will be his king; [1]
 
because they have refused [2]
to repent. [1]
6 וְחָלָ֥ה חֶ֙רֶב֙ [3 3] Pashta
בְּעָרָ֔יו [2] Zaqef
 
וְכִלְּתָ֥ה בַדָּ֖יו [2] Tip'cha
וְאָכָ֑לָה [1] Etnachta
 
מִֽמֹּעֲצ֖וֹתֵיהֶֽם׃ [2 1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 6 And a sword will fall [3 3]
on his cities, [2]
 
and it will destroy the bars of his gates [2]
and will devour them; [1]
 
because of their schemes. [2 1]
7 וְעַמִּ֥י תְלוּאִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
לִמְשׁוּבָתִ֑י [1] Etnachta
 
וְאֶל־עַל֙ [3] Pashta
יִקְרָאֻ֔הוּ [2] Zaqef
 
יַ֖חַד [2] Tip'cha
לֹ֥א יְרוֹמֵֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 2 7 And my people are determined [2]
to turn from me; [1]
 
though to the Most High [3]
they call on him, [2]
 
together [2]
he will not exalt them. [1]
8 אֵ֞יךְ [4] Gershayim
אֶתֶּנְךָ֣ אֶפְרַ֗יִם [3] Revi'i
 
אֲמַגֶּנְךָ֙ [3] Pashta
יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל [2] Zaqef
 
אֵ֚יךְ [3] Yetiv
אֶתֶּנְךָ֣ כְאַדְמָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
אֲשִֽׂימְךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha
כִּצְבֹאיִ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
נֶהְפַּ֤ךְ עָלַי֙ [3] Pashta
לִבִּ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
יַ֖חַד [2] Tip'cha
נִכְמְר֥וּ נִֽחוּמָֽי׃ [1] Silluq

will I give you up O Ephraim, [3]
 
will I hand you over [3]
O Israel? [2]
 
How [3]
will I make you like Admah, [2]
 
will I make you [2]
like Zeboiim? [1]
 
It is changed within me [3]
my heart, [2]
 
together [2]
they have grown warm my compassions. [1]
9 לֹ֤א אֶֽעֱשֶׂה֙ [3] Pashta
חֲר֣וֹן אַפִּ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
לֹ֥א אָשׁ֖וּב [2] Tip'cha
לְשַׁחֵ֣ת אֶפְרָ֑יִם [1] Etnachta
 
כִּ֣י אֵ֤ל אָנֹכִי֙ [3] Pashta
וְלֹא־אִ֔ישׁ [2] Zaqef
 
בְּקִרְבְּךָ֣ קָד֔וֹשׁ [2] Zaqef
וְלֹ֥א אָב֖וֹא [2] Tip'cha
בְּעִֽיר׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 2 2 9 I will not carry out [3]
the fierceness of my anger. [2]
 
I will not return [2]
to destroy Ephraim; [1]
 
for I am God [3]
and not man, [2]
 
the Holy One among you, [2]
and I will not come [2]
in wrath. [1]
10 אַחֲרֵ֧י יְהֹוָ֛ה [3] Tevir
יֵלְכ֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
כְּאַרְיֵ֣ה יִשְׁאָ֑ג [1] Etnachta
 
כִּֽי־ה֣וּא יִשְׁאַ֔ג [2] Zaqef
וְיֶחֶרְד֥וּ בָנִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
מִיָּֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 10 After the LORD [3]
they will walk, [2]
who like a lion will roar; [1]
 
for he, he will roar, [2]
and children will tremble [2]
from the west. [1]
11 יֶחֶרְד֤וּ כְצִפּוֹר֙ [3] Pashta
מִמִּצְרַ֔יִם [2] Zaqef
 
וּכְיוֹנָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
מֵאֶ֣רֶץ אַשּׁ֑וּר [1] Etnachta
 
וְהוֹשַׁבְתִּ֥ים עַל־בָּתֵּיהֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
נְאֻם־יְהֹוָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

from Egypt, [2]
 
and like a dove [2]
from the land of Assyria; [1]
 
and I will settle them in their houses,” [2]
says the LORD. [1]
