הושע 8 Hosea 8
1 אֶל־חִכְּךָ֣ שֹׁפָ֔ר [2] Zaqef
כַּנֶּ֖שֶׁר [2] Tip'cha
עַל־בֵּ֣ית יְהֹוָ֑ה [1] Etnachta

יַ֚עַן [3] Yetiv
עָבְר֣וּ בְרִיתִ֔י [2] Zaqef

וְעַל־תּוֹרָתִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
פָּשָֽׁעוּ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 3 2 1 “To your mouth, a shofar. [2]
(One) like an eagle [2]
is over the house of the LORD; [1]

because [3]
they have broken my covenant, [2]

and against my law [2]
they have rebelled. [1]
2 לִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
יִזְעָ֑קוּ [1] Etnachta

אֱלֹהַ֥י יְֽדַעֲנ֖וּךָ [2] Tip'cha
יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 To me [2]
they cry out; [1]

‘O my God, we know you, [2]
Israel.’ [1]
3 זָנַ֥ח יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
ט֑וֹב [1] Etnachta

אוֹיֵ֖ב [2] Tip'cha
יִרְדְּפֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 Israel has rejected [2]
that which is good; [1]

an enemy, [2]
it will pursue him. [1]
4 הֵ֤ם הִמְלִ֙יכוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
וְלֹ֣א מִמֶּ֔נִּי [2] Zaqef

הֵשִׂ֖ירוּ [2] Tip'cha
וְלֹ֣א יָדָ֑עְתִּי [1] Etnachta

כַּסְפָּ֣ם וּזְהָבָ֗ם [3] Revi'i
עָשׂ֤וּ לָהֶם֙ [3] Pashta
עֲצַבִּ֔ים [2] Zaqef

לְמַ֖עַן [2] Tip'cha
יִכָּרֵֽת׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 3 2 4 They, they have set up kings, [3 3]
but not from me. [2]

They have installed leaders, [2]
and I didn’t know. [1]

Of their silver and their gold, [3]
they have made for themselves [3]
idols, [2]

that [2]
they may be cut off. [1]
5 זָנַח֙ [3] Pashta
עֶגְלֵ֣ךְ שֹׁמְר֔וֹן [2] Zaqef

חָרָ֥ה אַפִּ֖י [2] Tip'cha
בָּ֑ם [1] Etnachta

עַד־מָתַ֕י [2] ZaqefG
לֹ֥א יוּכְל֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
נִקָּיֹֽן׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 2 5 It is rejected, [3]
your calf O Samaria, [2]

my anger has burned [2]
against them. [1]

How long [2]
will they be incapable [2]
of purity? [1]
6 כִּ֤י מִיִּשְׂרָאֵל֙ [3] Pashta
וְה֔וּא [2] Zaqef

חָרָ֣שׁ עָשָׂ֔הוּ [2] Zaqef
וְלֹ֥א אֱלֹהִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
ה֑וּא [1] Etnachta

כִּֽי־שְׁבָבִ֣ים יִֽהְיֶ֔ה [2] Zaqef
עֵ֖גֶל [2] Tip'cha
שֹׁמְרֽוֹן׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 2 2 6 For from Israel [3]
it is, [2]

a craftsman, he made it, [2]
and not God [2]
it is; [1]

for it shall be broken into fragments, [2]
the calf [2]
of Samaria. [1]
7 כִּ֛י [3] Tevir
ר֥וּחַ יִזְרָ֖עוּ [2] Tip'cha
וְסוּפָ֣תָה יִקְצֹ֑רוּ [1] Etnachta

קָמָ֣ה אֵֽין־ל֗וֹ [3] Revi'i
צֶ֚מַח [3] Yetiv
בְּלִ֣י יַעֲשֶׂה־קֶּ֔מַח [2] Zaqef

אוּלַ֣י יַעֲשֶׂ֔ה [2] Zaqef
זָרִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
יִבְלָעֻֽהוּ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 3 2 2 7 For [3]
a wind they sow, [2]
and a whirlwind they will reap. [1]

It has no mature grain, [3]
the sprout, [3]
it will produce no flour. [2]

If it does produce, [2]
strangers, [2]
they will swallow it up. [1]
8 נִבְלַ֖ע [2] Tip'cha
יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל [1] Etnachta

עַתָּה֙ [3] Pashta
הָי֣וּ בַגּוֹיִ֔ם [2] Zaqef

כִּכְלִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
אֵֽין־חֵ֥פֶץ בּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 2 8 It will be swallowed up, [2]
Israel. [1]

Now [3]
they are among the nations, [2]

like a vessel [2]
in which is no delight. [1]
9 כִּי־הֵ֙מָּה֙ [3 3] Pashta
עָל֣וּ אַשּׁ֔וּר [2] Zaqef

פֶּ֖רֶא [2] Tip'cha
בּוֹדֵ֣ד ל֑וֹ [1] Etnachta

אֶפְרַ֖יִם [2] Tip'cha
הִתְנ֥וּ אֲהָבִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 9 For they, [3 3]
they have gone up to Assyria, [2]

a wild donkey, [2]
alone by itself; [1]

Ephraim, [2]
they have hired lovers. [1]
10 גַּ֛ם [3] Tevir
כִּֽי־יִתְנ֥וּ בַגּוֹיִ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
עַתָּ֣ה אֲקַבְּצֵ֑ם [1] Etnachta

וַיָּחֵ֣לּוּ מְּעָ֔ט [2] Zaqef
מִמַּשָּׂ֖א [2] Tip'cha
מֶ֥לֶךְ שָׂרִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 10 But [3]
though they have sold themselves among the nations, [2]
I will now gather them up; [1]

and they will begin to decrease [2]
from the burden [2]
of king, of princes. [1]
11 כִּי־הִרְבָּ֥ה אֶפְרַ֛יִם [3] Tevir
מִזְבְּח֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha
לַחֲטֹ֑א [1] Etnachta

הָיוּ־ל֥וֹ מִזְבְּח֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha
לַחֲטֹֽא׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 11 Because Ephraim has multiplied [3]
altars [2]
for sinning; [1]

they have become for him altars [2]
for sinning. [1]
12 *אכתוב **אֶ֨כְתׇּב־ל֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
*רבו **רֻבֵּ֖י [2] Tip'cha
תּוֹרָתִ֑י [1] Etnachta

כְּמוֹ־זָ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
נֶחְשָֽׁבוּ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 12 I wrote for him [2]
the many things [2]
of my law; [1]

but like a strange thing [2]
they are regarded. [1]
13 זִבְחֵ֣י הַבְהָבַ֗י [3] Revi'i
יִזְבְּח֤וּ בָשָׂר֙ [3] Pashta
וַיֹּאכֵ֔לוּ [2] Zaqef

יְהֹוָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
לֹ֣א רָצָ֑ם [1] Etnachta

עַתָּ֞ה [4] Gershayim
יִזְכֹּ֤ר עֲוֺנָם֙ [3] Pashta
וְיִפְקֹ֣ד חַטֹּאותָ֔ם [2] Zaqef

הֵ֖מָּה [2] Tip'cha
מִצְרַ֥יִם יָשֽׁוּבוּ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 2 3 4 2 13 As for the sacrifices of my offerings, [3]
they sacrifice meat [3]
and they eat it, [2]

but the LORD [2]
is not pleased with them. [1]

Now [4]
he will remember their iniquity, [3]
and he will punish their sins. [2]

They, [2]
to Egypt they will return. [1]
14 וַיִּשְׁכַּ֨ח יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל [4] Geresh
אֶת־עֹשֵׂ֗הוּ [3] Revi'i

וַיִּ֙בֶן֙ [3 3] Pashta
הֵיכָל֔וֹת [2] Zaqef

וִיהוּדָ֕ה [2] ZaqefG
הִרְבָּ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
עָרִ֣ים בְּצֻר֑וֹת [1] Etnachta

וְשִׁלַּחְתִּי־אֵ֣שׁ בְּעָרָ֔יו [2] Zaqef
וְאָכְלָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
אַרְמְנֹתֶֽיהָ׃ [1] Silluq
פ
1 2 3 4 3 2 2 2 2 14 For Israel has forgotten [4]
his Maker [3]

and he has built [3 3]
palaces, [2]

and Judah, [2]
he has multiplied [2]
fortified cities; [1]

but I will send fire on his cities, [2]
and it will consume [2]
his fortresses.” [1]
