1 “Be silent before me [3] O islands, [2] let them renew strength; [1] then let them speak, [2] for judgment let us draw near. [1] |
2 Who has stirred up [3] one from the east, [2] he calls to his foot? [1] and kings he subdues, [2] his sword, [2] his bow. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
3 He pursues them, [2] he passes by safely; [1] that he had not come. [1] |

[1] Silluq |
5 The islands have seen [3] and they are afraid, [2] they tremble; [1] and they have come. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
6 Each his neighbor, [2] they help; [1] he says, “Be strong!” [1] |
7 So a craftsman encourages [3] a metalsmith, [2] a striker of an anvil; [1] “It is good,” [2] that it might not totter. [1] § |
8 “But you [3] O Israel my servant, [2] whom I have chosen; [1] of Abraham my friend, [1] |
9 whom I took hold of [3 3] from the ends of the earth, [2] I called you; [1] ‘You are my servant, [2] and I have not rejected you.’ [1] |
10 Do not be afraid [3] for I am with you, [2] for I am your God; [1] and I will help you, [2] with my righteous right hand. [1] |
11 Behold they will be ashamed [3 3] and they will be disgraced, [2] who are angry with you; [1] and they will perish, [2] those who strive with you. [1] |
12 You will seek them [3] and you won’t find them, [2] contend with you; [1] as nothing at all, [2] those who war against you. [1] |
13 For [3] I am [3] the LORD your God, [2] who takes hold of your right hand; [1] ‘Do not be afraid, [2] I, I will help you.’ [1] § |

15 Behold I will make you [3] into a threshing sledge, [3] sharp, new, [2] teeth; [1] and you will crush them, [2] like chaff you will make. [1] |

18 I will open on bare heights, [3] rivers, [2] springs; [1] a pool of water, [2] springs of water. [1] |

26 Who has declared it from the beginning [3] that we may know, [2] that we may say ‘He is right?’ [1] surely [3] there was none who proclaimed, [2] your words. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
