6 Lift up your eyes to the heavens [4] and look to the earth beneath, [3] like smoke they will be dispersed, [3 3] like a garment it will wear out, [2] like gnats they will die; [1] forever it will be, [2] it will not fail. [1] § |

9 Awake awake, put on strength [3] O arm of the LORD! [2] as in the days of old, [2] of ancient times. [1] who cut Rahab in pieces, [2] who pierced the sea monster? [1] |

13 For you have forgotten [4] the LORD who made you, [3] and who laid the foundations of the earth, [2 2] all the day [3] the anger of the oppressor [2] to destroy; [1] is the anger of the oppressor? [1] |
[1] Silluq |

15 For I [3] am the LORD your God, [2] so that they roar, [2] its waves; [1] is his name. [1] |
16 And I have put my words [3] in your mouth, [2] I have covered you; [1] and laying the foundations of the earth, [2] ‘You are my people.’ ” [1] § |

17 Rouse yourself, rouse yourself, [3] arise [3] O Jerusalem, [2] from the hand of the LORD [2] the cup of his wrath. [1] of the cup of staggering [3] you have drunk, [2] you have drained. [1] |
18 There is none to guide her, [2] of all the sons [2] she has borne; [1] onto her hand, [2] whom she has raised. [1] |
19 These two things [3 3] have happened to you. [2] will console you? [1] and the famine and the sword. [2] How can I comfort you? [1] |
20 Your sons, [4] having fainted they lie [3] at the head of all the streets, [2] like an antelope in a net. [1] the rebuke of your God. [1] |
21 Therefore [3] hear now this, [2] O afflicted one; [1] but not from wine, [1] § |

22 Thus he says, [4] your Lord GOD, [3] who defends his people, [2] from your hand, [2] the cup of staggering; [1] of the cup of my anger, [2] any more. [1] |
23 And I will put it [3 3] in the hand of those who afflict you, [2] ‘Bow down that we may walk over you,’ [1] your back, [2] for those who walk over.” [1] § |
