[1] Silluq |
1 Then he answered, [3] Bildad the Shuhite, [3/2] and he said, [1] |
2 “How long until [4] you make an end [3] to words? [2] and afterwards we will speak. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
3 Why [3] are we regarded as cattle; [2] in your eyes? [1] |
[1] Silluq |
4 You who tears himself [3] in his anger; [2] will the earth be abandoned, [2] from its place? [1] |
[1] Silluq |
5 “Indeed the light of the wicked, [3] it is snuffed out; [2] the flame of his fire. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
6 The light, [3] it grows dark in his tent; [2] above him, it is put out. [1] |
[2] Etnachta |
7 They are shortened, [3] his strong steps; [2] |
[1] Silluq |
8 For he is caught in a net [3] by his feet; [2] he wanders. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
9 It will catch him by the heel, [3] a trap; [2] a snare. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
10 Hidden on the ground [3] is a rope for him; [2] on the path. [1] |
[2] Etnachta |
11 On every side [3] terrors frighten him; [2] |
[1] Silluq |
12 Calamity is hungry for him; [2] is prepared for his stumbling. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
13 It eats away [3] the parts of his skin; [2] the firstborn of death. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
14 He is torn away from his tent [3] in which he trusted; [2] to the king of terrors. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
15 In his tent will dwell [3] nothing of his; [2] sulfur. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
16 From beneath, [3] his roots dry up; [2] his branches wither. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
17 His memory perishes [3] from the earth; [2] on the street. [1] |
[2] Etnachta |
18 He is driven [3] from light into darkness; [2] |
[1] Silluq |
19 He has no offspring or descendant [3] among his people; [2] where he once lived. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
20 At his day [3] those who come after will be appalled; [2] were seized with horror. [1] |
21 Surely such [3] are the dwellings of the unrighteous; [2] is the place of one who doesn’t know God.” [1] ¶ |
