[1] Silluq |
1 Then Job answered [3/2] and he said, [1] |
[2] Etnachta |
2 “How long [3] will you torment my soul; [2] |
[1] Silluq |
3 Ten times now [3] you have reproached me; [2] you attack me. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
4 Even if it is true that I have erred; [2] my error remains. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
5 If indeed [3] you would magnify yourselves above me; [2] my humiliation, [1] |
[1] Silluq |
6 then know [3] that God has treated me unfairly; [2] has closed over me. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
7 “Behold, I cry out ‘Violence!’ [3] but I am not answered; [2] but there is no justice. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
8 He has walled up my way [3] so that I cannot pass; [2] he has set darkness. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
9 My honor [3] he has stripped from me; [2] the crown from my head. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
10 He tears me down on every side [3] and I am gone; [2] my hope. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
11 And he has kindled against me [3] his wrath; [2] among his enemies. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
12 Together [4] his troops have come, [3] their siege ramp; [2] my tent. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
13 “My brothers [3] he has put far from me; [2] are wholly estranged from me. [1] |
[2] Etnachta |
14 My relatives have gone away; [2] |
[1] Silluq |
15 Those who dwell in my house and my maids, [3] they consider me a stranger; [2] I have become in their eyes. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
16 I call to my servant [3] and he doesn't answer; [2] I plead with him. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
17 My breath, [3] it is offensive to my wife; [2] to the sons of my (mother's) womb. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
18 Even young children, [3] they despise me; [2] and they speak against me. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
19 They abhor me, [3] all my close friends; [2] they have turned against me. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
20 To my skin and to my flesh [3] my bones cling; [2] by the skin of my teeth. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
21 “Have pity on me, have pity on me, O you [3] my friends; [2] it has struck me. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
22 Why [3] do you pursue me like God; [2] you are not satisfied? [1] |
[1] Silluq |
23 “Who will grant now [3] that my words may be written down? [2] they be inscribed, [1] |
[1] Silluq |
24 that with an iron stylus and lead; [2] in the rock they be engraved? [1] |
[1] Silluq |
25 For I, I know [3] that my Redeemer lives; [2] on the earth he will stand. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
26 And after my skin [3] has been destroyed; [2] I shall see God, [1] |

[1] Silluq |
28 If you say, [3] ‘How we will persecute him!’ [2] it is found in me, [1] |
