1 וַ֭יַּעַן [3] Dechi צֹפַ֥ר הַֽנַּעֲמָתִ֗י [3/2] Revi'i וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ [1] Silluq |
1 Then he answered, [3] Zophar the Naamathite, [3/2] and he said, [1] |

2 לָ֭כֵן [3] Dechi שְׂעִפַּ֣י יְשִׁיב֑וּנִי [2] Etnachta ח֣וּשִׁי בִֽי׃ [1] Silluq |
2 “Therefore [3] my troubled thoughts urge me to answer; [2] my agitation in me. [1] |

3 מוּסַ֣ר כְּלִמָּתִ֣י [3] VDechi אֶשְׁמָ֑ע [2] Etnachta מִֽבִּינָתִ֥י יַעֲנֵֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq |
3 The reproof which dishonors me [3] I have heard; [2] of my understanding makes me reply. [1] |

4 הֲזֹ֣את יָ֭דַעְתָּ [3] Dechi מִנִּי־עַ֑ד [2] Etnachta עֲלֵי־אָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq |
4 Don’t you know this [3] from ancient times; [2] on earth, [1] |

5 כִּ֤י רִנְנַ֣ת רְ֭שָׁעִים [3] Dechi מִקָּר֑וֹב [2] Etnachta עֲדֵי־רָֽגַע׃ [1] Silluq |
5 that the exulting of the wicked [3] is short; [2] but for a moment? [1] |

6 אִם־יַעֲלֶ֣ה לַשָּׁמַ֣יִם [3] VDechi שִׂיא֑וֹ [2] Etnachta לָעָ֥ב יַגִּֽיעַ׃ [1] Silluq |
6 Though it reaches to the heavens, [3] his arrogance; [2] touches the clouds, [1] |

7 כְּֽ֭גֶלְלוֹ [3] Dechi לָנֶ֣צַח יֹאבֵ֑ד [2] Etnachta יֹאמְר֥וּ אַיּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
7 like his own dung [3] he will perish forever; [2] they will say, ‘Where is he?’ [1] |

8 כַּחֲל֣וֹם יָ֭עוּף [3] Dechi וְלֹ֣א יִמְצָאֻ֑הוּ [2] Etnachta כְּחֶזְי֥וֹן לָֽיְלָה׃ [1] Silluq |
8 like a dream he will fly away [3] and he will not be found; [2] like a vision of the night. [1] |

9 עַ֣יִן שְׁ֭זָפַתּוּ [3] Dechi וְלֹ֣א תוֹסִ֑יף [2] Etnachta תְּשׁוּרֶ֥נּוּ מְקוֹמֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
9 The eye that saw him [3] will no longer; [2] will his place look on him. [1] |

10 בָּ֭נָיו [3] Dechi יְרַצּ֣וּ דַלִּ֑ים [2] Etnachta תָּשֵׁ֥בְנָה אוֹנֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
10 His children, [3] they will seek the favor of the poor; [2] they will give back his wealth. [1] |

11 עַ֭צְמוֹתָיו [3] Dechi מָלְא֣וּ עֲלוּמָ֑ו [2] Etnachta עַל־עָפָ֥ר תִּשְׁכָּֽב׃ [1] Silluq |
11 His bones, [3] they were full of his youthful vigor; [2] in the dust it will lie down. [1] |

12 אִם־תַּמְתִּ֣יק בְּפִ֣יו [3] VDechi רָעָ֑ה [2] Etnachta תַּ֣חַת לְשֹׁנֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
12 “Though it tastes sweet in his mouth, [3] evil; [2] under his tongue, [1] |

13 יַחְמֹ֣ל עָ֭לֶיהָ [3] Dechi וְלֹ֣א יַעַזְבֶ֑נָּה [2] Etnachta בְּת֣וֹךְ חִכּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
13 he retains it [3] and he will not let it go; [2] within his mouth, [1] |

14 לַ֭חְמוֹ [3] Dechi בְּמֵעָ֣יו נֶהְפָּ֑ךְ [2] Etnachta בְּקִרְבּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
14 his food [3] in his stomach, it is changed; [2] within him. [1] |

15 חַ֣יִל בָּ֭לַע [3] Dechi וַיְקִאֶ֑נּוּ [2] Etnachta יֹרִשֶׁ֥נּוּ אֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq |
15 Wealth he has swallowed [3] and he vomits it up; [2] God casts it out. [1] |

16 רֹאשׁ־פְּתָנִ֥ים יִינָ֑ק [2] Etnachta לְשׁ֣וֹן אֶפְעֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
16 The poison of cobras he sucks; [2] the tongue of a viper. [1] |

17 אַל־יֵ֥רֶא בִפְלַגּ֑וֹת [2] Etnachta דְּבַ֣שׁ וְחֶמְאָֽה׃ [1] Silluq |
17 He will not look at the streams; [2] of honey and butter. [1] |
|||
18 מֵשִׁ֣יב יָ֭גָע [3] Dechi וְלֹ֣א יִבְלָ֑ע [2] Etnachta וְלֹ֣א יַעֲלֹֽס׃ [1] Silluq |
18 Giving back the fruit of his toil, [3] he will not swallow it down; [2] he will not rejoice. [1] |

19 כִּֽי־רִ֭צַּץ [3] Dechi עָזַ֣ב דַּלִּ֑ים [2] Etnachta וְלֹ֣א יִבְנֵֽהוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
19 For he has crushed, [3] he has abandoned the poor; [2] that he did not build. [1] |

20 כִּ֤י ׀ [4] Mahpakh Legarmeh לֹא־יָדַ֣ע שָׁלֵ֣ו [3] VDechi בְּבִטְנ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta לֹ֣א יְמַלֵּֽט׃ [1] Silluq |
20 “For [4] he has known no satisfaction [3] in his belly; [2] he will not deliver himself. [1] |

21 אֵין־שָׂרִ֥יד לְאׇכְל֑וֹ [2] Etnachta לֹא־יָחִ֥יל טוּבֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
21 There was nothing left for him to devour; [2] his prosperity will not endure. [1] |

22 בִּמְלֹ֣אות שִׂ֭פְקוֹ [3] Dechi יֵ֣צֶר ל֑וֹ [2] Etnachta תְּבֹאֶֽנּוּ׃ [1] Silluq |
22 In the fullness of his plenty [3] distress will come to him; [2] it will come to him. [1] |

23 יְהִ֤י ׀ [4] Mahpakh Legarmeh לְמַלֵּ֬א בִטְנ֗וֹ [3] Revi'i חֲר֣וֹן אַפּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta בִּלְחוּמֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
23 When he is [4] about to fill his belly, [3] the fierceness of his wrath; [2] on his flesh. [1] |

24 יִ֭בְרַח [3] Dechi מִנֵּ֣שֶׁק בַּרְזֶ֑ל [2] Etnachta קֶ֣שֶׁת נְחוּשָֽׁה׃ [1] Silluq |
24 He will flee [3] from a weapon of iron; [2] a bow of bronze. [1] |

25 שָׁלַף֮ [3] Sinnor וַיֵּצֵ֢א מִגֵּ֫וָ֥ה [2] Ole Veyored מִֽמְּרֹרָת֥וֹ יַהֲלֹ֗ךְ [3/2] Revi'i עָלָ֥יו אֵמִֽים׃ [1] Silluq |
25 He draws it out [3] and it comes out from the back; [2] from his liver it comes, [3/2] terrors come upon him. [1] |

26 כׇּל־חֹשֶׁךְ֮ [3] Sinnor טָמ֢וּן לִצְפּ֫וּנָ֥יו [2] Ole Veyored אֵ֣שׁ לֹא־נֻפָּ֑ח [2] Etnachta בְּאׇהֳלֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
26 Total darkness [3] waits for his treasures; [2] an unfanned fire, [2] in his tent. [1] |

27 יְגַלּ֣וּ שָׁמַ֣יִם [3] VDechi עֲוֺנ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta מִתְקוֹמָ֘מָ֥ה לֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
27 The heavens will reveal [3] his iniquity; [2] will rise up [1] against him. |

28 יִ֭גֶל [3] Dechi יְב֣וּל בֵּית֑וֹ [2] Etnachta בְּי֣וֹם אַפּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq |
28 It will be carried off [3] in a flood, his house; [2] on the day of his wrath. [1] |
|||
29 זֶ֤ה ׀ [4] Mahpakh Legarmeh חֵלֶק־אָדָ֣ם רָ֭שָׁע [3] Dechi מֵאֱלֹהִ֑ים [2] Etnachta מֵאֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq פ |
29 This [4] is the portion of a wicked man [3] from God; [2] by God.” [1] ¶ |
