1 וַ֭יַּעַן [3] Dechi
צֹפַ֥ר הַֽנַּעֲמָתִ֗י [3/2] Revi'i
וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 1 Then he answered, [3]
Zophar the Naamathite, [3/2]
and he said, [1]
2 לָ֭כֵן [3] Dechi
שְׂעִפַּ֣י יְשִׁיב֑וּנִי [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝בַעֲב֗וּר [2] Revi'i Mugrash
ח֣וּשִׁי בִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 “Therefore [3]
my troubled thoughts urge me to answer; [2]
 
because of [2]
my agitation in me. [1]
3 מוּסַ֣ר כְּלִמָּתִ֣י [3] VDechi
אֶשְׁמָ֑ע [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝ר֗וּחַ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מִֽבִּינָתִ֥י יַעֲנֵֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 The reproof which dishonors me [3]
I have heard; [2]
 
and the spirit [2]
of my understanding makes me reply. [1]
4 הֲזֹ֣את יָ֭דַעְתָּ [3] Dechi
מִנִּי־עַ֑ד [2] Etnachta
 
מִנִּ֤י שִׂ֖ים אָדָ֣ם [2] VRevMug
עֲלֵי־אָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 4 Don’t you know this [3]
from ancient times; [2]
 
from when man was placed [2]
on earth, [1]
5 כִּ֤י רִנְנַ֣ת רְ֭שָׁעִים [3] Dechi
מִקָּר֑וֹב [2] Etnachta
 
וְשִׂמְחַ֖ת חָנֵ֣ף [2] VRevMug
עֲדֵי־רָֽגַע׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 5 that the exulting of the wicked [3]
is short; [2]
 
and the joy of the godless [2]
but for a moment? [1]
6 אִם־יַעֲלֶ֣ה לַשָּׁמַ֣יִם [3] VDechi
שִׂיא֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝רֹאשׁ֗וֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לָעָ֥ב יַגִּֽיעַ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 6 Though it reaches to the heavens, [3]
his arrogance; [2]
 
and his head [2]
touches the clouds, [1]
7 כְּֽ֭גֶלְלוֹ [3] Dechi
לָנֶ֣צַח יֹאבֵ֑ד [2] Etnachta
 
רֹ֝אָ֗יו [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יֹאמְר֥וּ אַיּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 7 like his own dung [3]
he will perish forever; [2]
 
those who have seen him, [2]
they will say, ‘Where is he?’ [1]
8 כַּחֲל֣וֹם יָ֭עוּף [3] Dechi
וְלֹ֣א יִמְצָאֻ֑הוּ [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝יֻדַּ֗ד [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כְּחֶזְי֥וֹן לָֽיְלָה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 8 like a dream he will fly away [3]
and he will not be found; [2]
 
and he will be chased away [2]
like a vision of the night. [1]
9 עַ֣יִן שְׁ֭זָפַתּוּ [3] Dechi
וְלֹ֣א תוֹסִ֑יף [2] Etnachta
 
וְלֹֽא־ע֝֗וֹד [2] Revi'i Mugrash
תְּשׁוּרֶ֥נּוּ מְקוֹמֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 9 The eye that saw him [3]
will no longer; [2]
 
and never again [2]
will his place look on him. [1]
10 בָּ֭נָיו [3] Dechi
יְרַצּ֣וּ דַלִּ֑ים [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝יָדָ֗יו [2] Revi'i Mugrash
תָּשֵׁ֥בְנָה אוֹנֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 10 His children, [3]
they will seek the favor of the poor; [2]
 
and his own hands, [2]
they will give back his wealth. [1]
11 עַ֭צְמוֹתָיו [3] Dechi
מָלְא֣וּ עֲלוּמָ֑ו [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝עִמּ֗וֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עַל־עָפָ֥ר תִּשְׁכָּֽב׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 11 His bones, [3]
they were full of his youthful vigor; [2]
 
but with him [2]
in the dust it will lie down. [1]
12 אִם־תַּמְתִּ֣יק בְּפִ֣יו [3] VDechi
רָעָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
יַ֝כְחִידֶ֗נָּה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
תַּ֣חַת לְשֹׁנֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 12 “Though it tastes sweet in his mouth, [3]
evil; [2]
 
he hides it [2]
under his tongue, [1]
13 יַחְמֹ֣ל עָ֭לֶיהָ [3] Dechi
וְלֹ֣א יַעַזְבֶ֑נָּה [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝יִמְנָעֶ֗נָּה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בְּת֣וֹךְ חִכּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 13 he retains it [3]
and he will not let it go; [2]
 
but he keeps it still [2]
within his mouth, [1]
14 לַ֭חְמוֹ [3] Dechi
בְּמֵעָ֣יו נֶהְפָּ֑ךְ [2] Etnachta
 
מְרוֹרַ֖ת פְּתָנִ֣ים [2] VRevMug
בְּקִרְבּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 14 his food [3]
in his stomach, it is changed; [2]
 
to the venom of cobras [2]
within him. [1]
15 חַ֣יִל בָּ֭לַע [3] Dechi
וַיְקִאֶ֑נּוּ [2] Etnachta
 
מִ֝בִּטְנ֗וֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יֹרִשֶׁ֥נּוּ אֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 15 Wealth he has swallowed [3]
and he vomits it up; [2]
 
from his belly [2]
God casts it out. [1]
16 רֹאשׁ־פְּתָנִ֥ים יִינָ֑ק [2] Etnachta
 
תַּ֝הַרְגֵ֗הוּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לְשׁ֣וֹן אֶפְעֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 16 The poison of cobras he sucks; [2]
 
it kills him, [2]
the tongue of a viper. [1]
17 אַל־יֵ֥רֶא בִפְלַגּ֑וֹת [2] Etnachta
 
נַהֲרֵ֥י נַ֝חֲלֵ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
דְּבַ֣שׁ וְחֶמְאָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 17 He will not look at the streams; [2]
 
the flowing rivers [2]
of honey and butter. [1]
18 מֵשִׁ֣יב יָ֭גָע [3] Dechi
וְלֹ֣א יִבְלָ֑ע [2] Etnachta
 
כְּחֵ֥יל תְּ֝מוּרָת֗וֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וְלֹ֣א יַעֲלֹֽס׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 18 Giving back the fruit of his toil, [3]
he will not swallow it down; [2]
 
from the profit of his trading [2]
he will not rejoice. [1]
19 כִּֽי־רִ֭צַּץ [3] Dechi
עָזַ֣ב דַּלִּ֑ים [2] Etnachta
 
בַּ֥יִת גָּ֝זַ֗ל [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וְלֹ֣א יִבְנֵֽהוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 19 For he has crushed, [3]
he has abandoned the poor; [2]
 
he has seized a house [2]
that he did not build. [1]
20 כִּ֤י ׀ [4] Mahpakh Legarmeh
לֹא־יָדַ֣ע שָׁלֵ֣ו [3] VDechi
בְּבִטְנ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
בַּ֝חֲמוּד֗וֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹ֣א יְמַלֵּֽט׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 2 20 “For [4]
he has known no satisfaction [3]
in his belly; [2]
 
with the things he desired [2]
he will not deliver himself. [1]
21 אֵין־שָׂרִ֥יד לְאׇכְל֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
עַל־כֵּ֝֗ן [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹא־יָחִ֥יל טוּבֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 21 There was nothing left for him to devour; [2]
 
therefore [2]
his prosperity will not endure. [1]
22 בִּמְלֹ֣אות שִׂ֭פְקוֹ [3] Dechi
יֵ֣צֶר ל֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
כׇּל־יַ֖ד עָמֵ֣ל [2] VRevMug
תְּבֹאֶֽנּוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 22 In the fullness of his plenty [3]
distress will come to him; [2]
 
the full force of misery, [2]
it will come to him. [1]
23 יְהִ֤י ׀ [4] Mahpakh Legarmeh
לְמַלֵּ֬א בִטְנ֗וֹ [3] Revi'i
 
יְֽשַׁלַּח־בּ֭וֹ [3] Dechi
חֲר֣וֹן אַפּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
וְיַמְטֵ֥ר עָ֝לֵ֗ימוֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בִּלְחוּמֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 3 2 23 When he is [4]
about to fill his belly, [3]
 
he will send against him [3]
the fierceness of his wrath; [2]
 
and he will rain it down on him, [2]
on his flesh. [1]
24 יִ֭בְרַח [3] Dechi
מִנֵּ֣שֶׁק בַּרְזֶ֑ל [2] Etnachta
 
תַּ֝חְלְפֵ֗הוּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
קֶ֣שֶׁת נְחוּשָֽׁה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 24 He will flee [3]
from a weapon of iron; [2]
 
it will pierce him, [2]
a bow of bronze. [1]
25 שָׁלַף֮ [3] Sinnor
וַיֵּצֵ֢א מִגֵּ֫וָ֥ה [2] Ole Veyored
 
וּ֭בָרָק [3] Dechi
מִֽמְּרֹרָת֥וֹ יַהֲלֹ֗ךְ [3/2] Revi'i
עָלָ֥יו אֵמִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 25 He draws it out [3]
and it comes out from the back; [2]
 
and the gleaming point, [3]
from his liver it comes, [3/2]
terrors come upon him. [1]
26 כׇּל־חֹשֶׁךְ֮ [3] Sinnor
טָמ֢וּן לִצְפּ֫וּנָ֥יו [2] Ole Veyored
 
תְּ֭אׇכְלֵהוּ [3] Dechi
אֵ֣שׁ לֹא־נֻפָּ֑ח [2] Etnachta
 
יֵ֖רַע שָׂרִ֣יד [2] VRevMug
בְּאׇהֳלֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 2 26 Total darkness [3]
waits for his treasures; [2]
 
it will devour him, [3]
an unfanned fire, [2]
 
it will consume what is left [2]
in his tent. [1]
27 יְגַלּ֣וּ שָׁמַ֣יִם [3] VDechi
עֲוֺנ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝אֶ֗רֶץ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מִתְקוֹמָ֘מָ֥ה לֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 27 The heavens will reveal [3]
his iniquity; [2]
 
and the earth [2]
will rise up [1]
against him.
28 יִ֭גֶל [3] Dechi
יְב֣וּל בֵּית֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
נִ֝גָּר֗וֹת [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בְּי֣וֹם אַפּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 28 It will be carried off [3]
in a flood, his house; [2]
 
rushing waters [2]
on the day of his wrath. [1]
29 זֶ֤ה ׀ [4] Mahpakh Legarmeh
חֵלֶק־אָדָ֣ם רָ֭שָׁע [3] Dechi
מֵאֱלֹהִ֑ים [2] Etnachta
 
וְנַחֲלַ֖ת אִמְר֣וֹ [2] VRevMug
מֵאֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq

is the portion of a wicked man [3]
from God; [2]
 
and the heritage appointed to him [2]
