איוב 34 Job 34
1 וַיַּ֥עַן אֱלִיה֗וּא [3/2] Revi'i
וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ [1] Silluq
2 1 And Elihu answered [3/2]
and he said, [1]
2 שִׁמְע֣וּ חֲכָמִ֣ים [3] VDechi
מִלָּ֑י [2] Etnachta

וְ֝יֹֽדְעִ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
הַֽאֲזִ֥ינוּ לִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 “Hear O wise [3]
my words; [2]

and who know, [2]
give ear to me. [1]
3 כִּי־אֹ֭זֶן [3] Dechi
מִלִּ֣ין תִּבְחָ֑ן [2] Etnachta

וְ֝חֵ֗ךְ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יִטְעַ֥ם לֶאֱכֹֽל׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 For the ear, [3]
it tests words; [2]

as the palate, [2]
it tastes food. [1]
4 מִשְׁפָּ֥ט נִבְחֲרָה־לָּ֑נוּ [2] Etnachta

נֵדְעָ֖ה בֵינֵ֣ינוּ [2] VRevMug
מַה־טּֽוֹב׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 4 Justice let us choose for ourselves; [2]

let us recognize among ourselves [2]
what is good. [1]
5 כִּֽי־אָמַ֣ר אִיּ֣וֹב [3] VDechi
צָדַ֑קְתִּי [2] Etnachta

וְ֝אֵ֗ל [2] Revi'i Mugrash
הֵסִ֥יר מִשְׁפָּטִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 5 For Job says, [3]
‘I am righteous; [2]

but God, [2]
he has taken away my right. [1]
6 עַל־מִשְׁפָּטִ֥י אֲכַזֵּ֑ב [2] Etnachta

אָנ֖וּשׁ חִצִּ֣י [2] VRevMug
בְלִי־פָֽשַׁע׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 6 In spite of my right I am counted a liar; [2]

my wound is incurable, [2]
though without transgression.’ [1]
7 מִי־גֶ֥בֶר כְּאִיּ֑וֹב [2] Etnachta

יִֽשְׁתֶּה־לַּ֥עַג כַּמָּֽיִם׃ [1] Silluq
2 7 What man is like Job; [2]

who drinks scorn like water, [1]
8 וְאָרַ֣ח לְ֭חֶבְרָה [3] Dechi
עִם־פֹּ֣עֲלֵי אָ֑וֶן [2] Etnachta

וְ֝לָלֶ֗כֶת [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עִם־אַנְשֵׁי־רֶֽשַׁע׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 8 and he goes in company [3]
with those who do evil; [2]

and walks [2]
with wicked men? [1]
9 כִּֽי־אָ֭מַר [3] Dechi
לֹ֣א יִסְכׇּן־גָּ֑בֶר [2] Etnachta

בִּ֝רְצֹת֗וֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עִם־אֱלֹהִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 9 For he has said, [3]
‘It is of no use to a man; [2]

that he should delight himself [2]
with God.’ [1]

וְשַׁדַּ֥י מֵעָֽוֶל׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 2 10 “Therefore [4]
O men of understanding, [3]
listen to me; [2]

far be it to God from wickedness, [3/2]
and the Almighty from unrighteousness. [1]

2 3 2 11 For the work of a person [3]
he will repay to him; [2]

and according to the way of a person [2]
he will make him find. [1]
12 אַף־אׇמְנָ֗ם [3] Revi'i
אֵ֥ל לֹֽא־יַרְשִׁ֑יעַ [2] Etnachta

וְ֝שַׁדַּ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹא־יְעַוֵּ֥ת מִשְׁפָּֽט׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 12 Yes surely, [3]
God doesn't act wickedly; [2]

and the Almighty, [2]
he doesn't pervert justice. [1]
13 מִֽי־פָקַ֣ד עָלָ֣יו [3] VDechi

2 3 2 13 Who put him in charge [3]
of the earth? [2]

and who has appointed (him) [2]
(over) the whole world? [1]
14 אִם־יָשִׂ֣ים אֵלָ֣יו [3] VDechi
לִבּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta

רוּח֥וֹ וְ֝נִשְׁמָת֗וֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אֵלָ֥יו יֶאֱסֹֽף׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 14 If he sets on it [3]
his heart; [2]

his spirit and his breath [2]
he will gather to himself, [1]
15 יִגְוַ֣ע כׇּל־בָּשָׂ֣ר [3] VDechi
יָ֑חַד [2] Etnachta

וְ֝אָדָ֗ם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עַל־עָפָ֥ר יָשֽׁוּב׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 15 all flesh would perish [3]
together; [2]

and man [2]
to dust it would return. [1]
16 וְאִם־בִּ֥ינָה שִׁמְעָה־זֹּ֑את [2] Etnachta

הַ֝אֲזִ֗ינָה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לְק֣וֹל מִלָּֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 16 “And if (you have) understanding, hear this; [2]

they die, [3]
in the middle of the night; [2]

people are shaken [3]
and they pass away, [2]
