1 וַ֭יַּעַן [3] Dechi
אֱלִיפַ֥ז הַֽתֵּימָנִ֗י [3/2] Revi'i
וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 1 Then he answered, [3]
Eliphaz the Temanite, [3/2]
and he said, [1]
2 הֲנִסָּ֬ה דָבָ֣ר אֵלֶ֣יךָ [3] VDechi
תִּלְאֶ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וַעְצֹ֥ר בְּ֝מִלִּ֗ין [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מִ֣י יוּכָֽל׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 “Should someone attempt a word to you, [3]
will you be impatient? [2]
 
But to withhold words, [2]
who is able? [1]
3 הִ֭נֵּה [3] Dechi
יִסַּ֣רְתָּ רַבִּ֑ים [2] Etnachta
 
וְיָדַ֖יִם רָפ֣וֹת [2] VRevMug
תְּחַזֵּֽק׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 Behold, [3]
you have instructed many; [2]
 
and weak hands [2]
you have strengthened. [1]
4 כּ֭וֹשֵׁל [3] Dechi
יְקִימ֣וּן מִלֶּ֑יךָ [2] Etnachta
 
וּבִרְכַּ֖יִם כֹּרְע֣וֹת [2] VRevMug
תְּאַמֵּֽץ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 4 The one who stumbled, [3]
your words have supported; [2]
 
and feeble knees [2]
you have strengthened. [1]
5 כִּ֤י עַתָּ֨ה ׀ [4] Azla Legarmeh
תָּב֣וֹא אֵלֶ֣יךָ [3] VDechi
וַתֵּ֑לֶא [2] Etnachta
 
תִּגַּ֥ע עָ֝דֶ֗יךָ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וַתִּבָּהֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 2 5 But now [4]
it comes to you, [3]
and you become impatient; [2]
 
it reaches to you [2]
and you become dismayed. [1]
6 הֲלֹ֣א יִ֭רְאָתְךָ [3] Dechi
כִּסְלָתֶ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta
 
תִּ֝קְוָתְךָ֗ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וְתֹ֣ם דְּרָכֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 6 Isn’t your fear [3]
your confidence; [2]
 
your hope, [2]
and the integrity of your ways? [1]
7 זְכׇר־נָ֗א [3] Revi'i
מִ֤י ה֣וּא נָקִ֣י [3] VDechi
אָבָ֑ד [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝אֵיפֹ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יְשָׁרִ֥ים נִכְחָֽדוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 3 2 7 “Remember now, [3]
who that was innocent [3]
ever perished; [2]
 
and where [2]
were the upright destroyed? [1]
8 כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר רָ֭אִיתִי [3] Dechi
חֹ֣רְשֵׁי אָ֑וֶן [2] Etnachta
 
וְזֹרְעֵ֖י עָמָ֣ל [2] VRevMug
יִקְצְרֻֽהוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 8 Just as I have seen, [3]
those who plow wickedness; [2]
 
and those who sow mischief, [2]
they harvest it. [1]
9 מִנִּשְׁמַ֣ת אֱל֣וֹהַּ [3] VDechi
יֹאבֵ֑דוּ [2] Etnachta
 
וּמֵר֖וּחַ אַפּ֣וֹ [2] VRevMug
יִכְלֽוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 9 By the breath of God [3]
they perish; [2]
 
and by the blast of his anger [2]
they come to an end. [1]
10 שַׁאֲגַ֣ת אַ֭רְיֵה [3] Dechi
וְק֣וֹל שָׁ֑חַל [2] Etnachta
 
וְשִׁנֵּ֖י כְפִירִ֣ים [2] VRevMug
נִתָּֽעוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 10 The roaring of a lion, [3]
and the voice of a fierce lion; [2]
 
and the teeth of young lions, [2]
they are broken out. [1]
11 לַ֭יִשׁ [3] Dechi
אֹבֵ֣ד מִבְּלִי־טָ֑רֶף [2] Etnachta
 
וּבְנֵ֥י לָ֝בִ֗יא [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יִתְפָּרָֽדוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 11 A lion [3]
perishes for lack of prey; [2]
 
and the young of a lion, [2]
they are scattered. [1]
12 וְ֭אֵלַי [3] Dechi
דָּבָ֣ר יְגֻנָּ֑ב [2] Etnachta
 
וַתִּקַּ֥ח אׇ֝זְנִ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
שֵׁ֣מֶץ מֶֽנְהֽוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 12 “Now to me [3]
a word was brought secretly; [2]
 
and my ear received [2]
a whisper of it. [1]
13 בִּ֭שְׂעִפִּים [3] Dechi
מֵחֶזְיֹנ֣וֹת לָ֑יְלָה [2] Etnachta
 
בִּנְפֹ֥ל תַּ֝רְדֵּמָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עַל־אֲנָשִֽׁים׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 13 In disquieting thoughts [3]
from visions of the night; [2]
 
when deep sleep falls [2]
on men, [1]
14 פַּ֣חַד קְ֭רָאַנִי [3] Dechi
וּרְעָדָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וְרֹ֖ב עַצְמוֹתַ֣י [2] VRevMug
הִפְחִֽיד׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 14 fear came on me [3]
and trembling; [2]
 
and my many bones [2]
it caused to tremble, [1]
15 וְ֭רוּחַ [3] Dechi
עַל־פָּנַ֣י יַחֲלֹ֑ף [2] Etnachta
 
תְּ֝סַמֵּ֗ר [2] Revi'i Mugrash
שַׂעֲרַ֥ת בְּשָׂרִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 15 and a spirit, [3]
over my face it passed; [2]
 
making it bristle up, [2]
the hair of my flesh. [1]
16 יַעֲמֹ֤ד ׀ [4] Mahpakh Legarmeh
וְֽלֹא־אַכִּ֬יר מַרְאֵ֗הוּ [3] Revi'i
 
תְּ֭מוּנָה [3] Dechi
לְנֶ֣גֶד עֵינָ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
דְּמָמָ֖ה וָק֣וֹל [2] VRevMug
אֶשְׁמָֽע׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 3 2 16 It stood still, [4]
but I couldn’t discern its appearance, [3]
 
a form [3]
was before my eyes; [2]
 
a whisper and a voice [2]
I heard, [1]
17 הַ֭אֱנוֹשׁ [3] Dechi
מֵאֱל֣וֹהַּ יִצְדָּ֑ק [2] Etnachta
 
אִ֥ם מֵ֝עֹשֵׂ֗הוּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יִטְהַר־גָּֽבֶר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 17 ‘A person, [3]
more than God will he be righteous; [2]
 
or more than his Maker [2]
will a man be pure? [1]
18 הֵ֣ן בַּ֭עֲבָדָיו [3] Dechi
לֹ֣א יַאֲמִ֑ין [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝בְמַלְאָכָ֗יו [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יָשִׂ֥ים תׇּהֳלָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 18 Behold in his servants, [3]
he puts no trust; [2]
 
and against his angels [2]
he charges error. [1]
19 אַ֤ף ׀ [4] Mahpakh Legarmeh
שֹׁכְנֵ֬י בָֽתֵּי־חֹ֗מֶר [3] Revi'i
אֲשֶׁר־בֶּעָפָ֥ר יְסוֹדָ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
יְ֝דַכְּא֗וּם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לִפְנֵי־עָֽשׁ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 2 19 How much more [4]
those who dwell in houses of clay, [3]
whose foundation is in the dust; [2]
 
who are crushed [2]
before a moth. [1]
20 מִבֹּ֣קֶר לָעֶ֣רֶב [3] VDechi
יֻכַּ֑תּוּ [2] Etnachta
 
מִבְּלִ֥י מֵ֝שִׂ֗ים [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לָנֶ֥צַח יֹאבֵֽדוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 20 From morning to evening [3]
they are crushed to pieces; [2]
 
without any regarding it, [2]
they perish forever. [1]
21 הֲלֹא־נִסַּ֣ע יִתְרָ֣ם [3] VDechi
בָּ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
יָ֝מ֗וּתוּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וְלֹ֣א בְחׇכְמָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 21 Is not their tent cord pulled up [3]
within them; [2]
 
will they (not) die, [2]
and without wisdom?’ [1]
