1 וַיְהִ֧י דְבַר־יְהֹוָ֛ה [3] Tevir
אֶל־יוֹנָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
שֵׁנִ֥ית לֵאמֹֽר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 1 And the word of the LORD came [3]
to Jonah [2]
a second time saying, [1]
2 ק֛וּם [3] Tevir
לֵ֥ךְ אֶל־נִֽינְוֵ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
הָעִ֣יר הַגְּדוֹלָ֑ה [1] Etnachta

וּקְרָ֤א אֵלֶ֙יהָ֙ [3 3] Pashta
אֶת־הַקְּרִיאָ֔ה [2] Zaqef

אֲשֶׁ֥ר אָנֹכִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
דֹּבֵ֥ר אֵלֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 2 2 “Arise, [3]
go to Nineveh [2]
the great city; [1]

and proclaim against it [3 3]
the message [2]

that I [2]
speak to you.” [1]
3 וַיָּ֣קׇם יוֹנָ֗ה [3] Revi'i
וַיֵּ֛לֶךְ [3] Tevir
אֶל־נִֽינְוֵ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
כִּדְבַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֑ה [1] Etnachta

וְנִֽינְוֵ֗ה [3] Revi'i
הָיְתָ֤ה עִיר־גְּדוֹלָה֙ [3] Pashta
לֵֽאלֹהִ֔ים [2] Zaqef

מַהֲלַ֖ךְ [2] Tip'cha
שְׁלֹ֥שֶׁת יָמִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 3 3 2 3 So Jonah arose [3]
and he went [3]
to Nineveh, [2]
according to the word of the LORD. [1]

Now Nineveh, [3]
it was a city great [3]
exceedingly [to Elohim], [2]

a journey [2]
of three days. [1]
4 וַיָּ֤חֶל יוֹנָה֙ [3] Pashta
לָב֣וֹא בָעִ֔יר [2] Zaqef

מַהֲלַ֖ךְ [2] Tip'cha

וַיִּקְרָא֙ [3] Pashta
וַיֹּאמַ֔ר [2] Zaqef

ע֚וֹד [3] Yetiv
אַרְבָּעִ֣ים י֔וֹם [2] Zaqef

וְנִֽינְוֵ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
נֶהְפָּֽכֶת׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 2 3 2 4 And Jonah began [3]
to enter into the city, [2]

a journey [2]
of one day; [1]

and he cried out [3]
and he said, [2]

“Yet [3]
forty days, [2]

and Nineveh [2]
will be overthrown!” [1]
5 וַֽיַּאֲמִ֛ינוּ [3] Tevir
אַנְשֵׁ֥י נִֽינְוֵ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
בֵּֽאלֹהִ֑ים [1] Etnachta

וַיִּקְרְאוּ־צוֹם֙ [3] Pashta
וַיִּלְבְּשׁ֣וּ שַׂקִּ֔ים [2] Zaqef

מִגְּדוֹלָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
וְעַד־קְטַנָּֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 2 5 And they believed, [3]
the people of Nineveh [2]
in God; [1]

and they proclaimed a fast [3]
and they put on sackcloth, [2]

from their greatest [2]
even to their least. [1]
6 וַיִּגַּ֤ע הַדָּבָר֙ [3] Pashta
אֶל־מֶ֣לֶךְ נִֽינְוֵ֔ה [2] Zaqef

וַיָּ֙קׇם֙ [3 3] Pashta

וַיֵּ֖שֶׁב [2] Tip'cha
עַל־הָאֵֽפֶר׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 2 2 2 6 And the word reached [3]
the king of Nineveh, [2]

and he arose [3 3]
from his throne, [2]

and he took off his royal robe [2]
from on him; [1]

and he covered with sackcloth, [2]
and he sat [2]
in ashes. [1]
7 וַיַּזְעֵ֗ק [3] Revi'i
וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ [3 3] Pashta
בְּנִֽינְוֵ֔ה [2] Zaqef

מִטַּ֧עַם הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ [3] Tevir
וּגְדֹלָ֖יו [2] Tip'cha
לֵאמֹ֑ר [1] Etnachta

וּמַ֖יִם [2] Tip'cha
אַל־יִשְׁתּֽוּ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 3 2 3 4 3 2 2 7 And he made a proclamation, [3]
and he said [3 3]
in Nineveh, [2]

by the decree of the king [3]
and his nobles, [2]
saying; [1]

“The people and the livestock, [4]
the cattle and the flocks, [3]

don't let them taste [3]
anything, [2]

don't let them graze, [2]
and water [2]

8 וְיִתְכַּסּ֣וּ שַׂקִּ֗ים [3] Revi'i
הָֽאָדָם֙ [3] Pashta

וְיָשֻׁ֗בוּ [3] Revi'i
אִ֚ישׁ [3] Yetiv
מִדַּרְכּ֣וֹ הָֽרָעָ֔ה [2] Zaqef

וּמִן־הֶחָמָ֖ס [2] Tip'cha
אֲשֶׁ֥ר בְּכַפֵּיהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 3 2 2 3 3 2 8 but let them be covered with sackcloth, [3]
the people [3]
and the livestock, [2]

and let them cry out to God [2]
mightily; [1]

and let them turn back, [3]
everyone [3]
from his evil way, [2]

and from the violence [2]
that is in their hands. [1]
9 מִֽי־יוֹדֵ֣עַ יָשׁ֔וּב [2] Zaqef

מֵחֲר֥וֹן אַפּ֖וֹ [2] Tip'cha
וְלֹ֥א נֹאבֵֽד׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 3 9 Who knows whether he will turn [2]
and he will relent, [2]
God; [1]

and turn back [3]
from his burning anger, [2]
so that we might not perish?” [1]
10 וַיַּ֤רְא הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ [3] Pashta
אֶֽת־מַ֣עֲשֵׂיהֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef

כִּי־שָׁ֖בוּ [2] Tip'cha

אֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּ֥ר לַעֲשׂוֹת־לָהֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
וְלֹ֥א עָשָֽׂה׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 3 3 10 And God saw [3]
their deeds, [2]

that they turned back [2]
from their evil way; [1]

and God relented [3]
of the disaster [3]
which he had said to do to them, [2]
and he didn’t do it. [1]
