2 The sons of Zion, [3]  the precious, [2] in pure gold; [1] like clay jars, [2] of the hands of a potter. [1] §  |

3 Even jackals, [3]  they offer a breast, [2] their young ones; [1] like ostriches [2] in the wilderness. [1] §  |

4 The tongue of the nursing child clings [3]  to the roof of his mouth [2] for thirst; [1] they ask for bread, [2] there is not for them. [1] §  |

5 Those who ate [3]  delicacies, [2] in the streets; [1] in purple, [2] ash heaps. [1] §  |

| 6 וַיִּגְדַּל֙ [3] Pashta  עֲוֺ֣ן בַּת־עַמִּ֔י [2] Zaqef סְדֹ֑ם [1] Etnachta וְלֹא־חָ֥לוּ בָ֖הּ [2] Tip'cha יָדָֽיִם׃ [1] Silluq ס  | 
6 For it is great, [3]  the iniquity of the daughter of my people, [2] of Sodom; [1] yet they were not turned on her, [2] hands. [1] §  |

| 7 זַכּ֤וּ נְזִירֶ֙יהָ֙ [3 3] Pashta  מִשֶּׁ֔לֶג [2] Zaqef מֵחָלָ֑ב [1] Etnachta מִפְּנִינִ֔ים [2] Zaqef גִּזְרָתָֽם׃ [1] Silluq ס  | 
7 Her princes were pure [3 3]  more than snow, [2] more than milk; [1] more than rubies, [2] was the beauty of their form. [1] §  |

| 8 חָשַׁ֤ךְ מִשְּׁחוֹר֙ [3] Pashta  תׇּֽאֳרָ֔ם [2] Zaqef בַּחוּצ֑וֹת [1] Etnachta עַל־עַצְמָ֔ם [2] Zaqef הָיָ֥ה כָעֵֽץ׃ [1] Silluq ס  | 
8 It has become darker than soot, [3]  their appearance, [2] in the streets; [1] on their bones, [2] like a dried up stick. [1] §  |

| 9 טוֹבִ֤ים הָיוּ֙ [3] Pashta  חַלְלֵי־חֶ֔רֶב [2] Zaqef רָעָ֑ב [1] Etnachta מְדֻקָּרִ֔ים [2] Zaqef שָׂדָֽי׃ [1] Silluq ס  | 
9 Better off are they [3]  who are killed with the sword [2] with hunger; [1] pierced through, [2] of the field. [1] §  |

| 10 יְדֵ֗י [3] Revi'i  נָשִׁים֙ [3] Pashta רַחֲמָ֣נִיּ֔וֹת [2] Zaqef יַלְדֵיהֶ֑ן [1] Etnachta לָ֔מוֹ [2] Zaqef בַּת־עַמִּֽי׃ [1] Silluq ס  | 
10 The hands [3]  of women [3] of compassion, [2] their own children; [1] for them [2] of the daughter of my people. [1] §  |

| 11 כִּלָּ֤ה יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta  אֶת־חֲמָת֔וֹ [2] Zaqef חֲר֣וֹן אַפּ֑וֹ [1] Etnachta וַתֹּ֖אכַל [2] Tip'cha יְסֹדֹתֶֽיהָ׃ [1] Silluq ס  | 
11 The LORD has carried out [3]  his wrath, [2] his burning anger; [1] and it has devoured [2] her foundations. [1] §  |

| 12 לֹ֤א הֶאֱמִ֙ינוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta  מַלְכֵי־אֶ֔רֶץ [2] Zaqef יֹשְׁבֵ֣י תֵבֵ֑ל [1] Etnachta צַ֣ר וְאוֹיֵ֔ב [2] Zaqef יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃ [1] Silluq ס  | 
12 They didn’t believe, [3 3]  the kings of the earth [2] the inhabitants of the world; [1] the adversary and enemy, [2] of Jerusalem. [1] §  |

| 13 מֵֽחַטֹּ֣אות נְבִיאֶ֔יהָ [2] Zaqef  עֲוֺנֹ֖ת [2] Tip'cha כֹּהֲנֶ֑יהָ [1] Etnachta דַּ֥ם צַדִּיקִֽים׃ [1] Silluq ס  | 
13 (But it happened) because of the sins of her prophets, [2]  the iniquities [2] of her priests; [1] the blood of the righteous. [1] §  |

| 14 נָע֤וּ עִוְרִים֙ [3] Pashta  בַּֽחוּצ֔וֹת [2] Zaqef בַּדָּ֑ם [1] Etnachta יִגְּע֖וּ [2] Tip'cha בִּלְבֻשֵׁיהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq ס  | 
14 They wandered blind [3]  in the streets, [2] by blood; [1] touch [2] their garments. [1] §  |

| 15 ס֣וּרוּ טָמֵ֞א [4] Gershayim  קָ֣רְאוּ לָ֗מוֹ [3] Revi'i אַל־תִּגָּ֔עוּ [2] Zaqef גַּם־נָ֑עוּ [1] Etnachta בַּגּוֹיִ֔ם [2] Zaqef לָגֽוּר׃ [1] Silluq ס  | 
15 “Go away, unclean!” [4]  people cried out to them, [3] Don’t touch!” [2] and they wandered about. [1] among the nations, [2] stay here.” [1] §  |

| 16 פְּנֵ֤י יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta  חִלְּקָ֔ם [2] Zaqef לְהַבִּיטָ֑ם [1] Etnachta לֹ֣א נָשָׂ֔אוּ [2] Zaqef לֹ֥א חָנָֽנוּ׃ [1] Silluq ס  | 
16 The face of the LORD, [3]  it scattered them, [2] regard them; [1] they didn’t lift up, [2] they didn’t favor. [1] §  |

| 17 *עודינה **עוֹדֵ֙ינוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta  תִּכְלֶ֣ינָה עֵינֵ֔ינוּ [2] Zaqef הָ֑בֶל [1] Etnachta אֶל־גּ֖וֹי [2] Tip'cha לֹ֥א יוֹשִֽׁעַ׃ [1] Silluq ס  | 
17 Yet we, [3 3]  our eyes fail, [2] in vain; [1] for a nation [2] that could not save. [1] §  |

| 18 צָד֣וּ צְעָדֵ֔ינוּ [2] Zaqef  מִלֶּ֖כֶת [2] Tip'cha בִּרְחֹבֹתֵ֑ינוּ [1] Etnachta מָלְא֥וּ יָמֵ֖ינוּ [2] Tip'cha כִּי־בָ֥א קִצֵּֽנוּ׃ [1] Silluq ס  | 
18 They hunted our steps, [2]  so we couldn’t walk [2] in our streets; [1] our days were numbered, [2] for our end had come. [1] §  |

| 19 קַלִּ֤ים הָיוּ֙ [3] Pashta  רֹדְפֵ֔ינוּ [2] Zaqef שָׁמָ֑יִם [1] Etnachta בַּמִּדְבָּ֖ר [2] Tip'cha אָ֥רְבוּ לָֽנוּ׃ [1] Silluq ס  | 
19 They were swift, [3]  our pursuers, [2] of the heavens; [1] in the wilderness [2] they lay in wait for us. [1] §  |

20 The breath of our nostrils, [3 3]  the anointed of the LORD, [2] in their pits; [1] under his shadow [2] we shall live among the nations. [1] §  |

| 21 שִׂ֤ישִׂי וְשִׂמְחִי֙ [3] Pashta  בַּת־אֱד֔וֹם [2] Zaqef בְּאֶ֣רֶץ ע֑וּץ [1] Etnachta תַּעֲבׇר־כּ֔וֹס [2] Zaqef וְתִתְעָרִֽי׃ [1] Silluq ס  | 
21 Rejoice and be glad, [3]  O daughter of Edom [2] in the land of Uz; [1] the cup will be passed, [2] and you will strip yourself naked. [1] §  |

22 (Punishment for) your iniquity is completed, [3]  O daughter of Zion, [2] keep you in exile; [1] O daughter of Edom, [2] your sins. [1] ¶  |
