1 זְכֹ֤ר יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta
מֶֽה־הָ֣יָה לָ֔נוּ [2] Zaqef
 
*הביט **הַבִּ֖יטָה [2] Tip'cha
וּרְאֵ֥ה אֶת־חֶרְפָּתֵֽנוּ׃ [1] Silluq

what has come upon us, [2]
 
look [2]
and see our reproach. [1]
2 נַחֲלָתֵ֙נוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
נֶֽהֶפְכָ֣ה לְזָרִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
בָּתֵּ֖ינוּ [2] Tip'cha
לְנׇכְרִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 Our inheritance, [3 3]
it has been turned over to strangers, [2]
 
our homes [2]
to foreigners. [1]
3 יְתוֹמִ֤ים הָיִ֙ינוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
*אין **וְאֵ֣ין אָ֔ב [2] Zaqef
 
אִמֹּתֵ֖ינוּ [2] Tip'cha
כְּאַלְמָנֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 Orphans we have become [3 3]
with no father, [2]
 
our mothers [2]
are like widows. [1]
4 מֵימֵ֙ינוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
בְּכֶ֣סֶף שָׁתִ֔ינוּ [2] Zaqef
 
עֵצֵ֖ינוּ [2] Tip'cha
בִּמְחִ֥יר יָבֹֽאוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 4 Our water [3 3]
for silver we have drunk, [2]
 
our wood [2]
comes for a price. [1]
5 עַ֤ל צַוָּארֵ֙נוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
נִרְדָּ֔פְנוּ [2] Zaqef
 
יָגַ֖עְנוּ [2] Tip'cha
*לא **וְלֹ֥א הֽוּנַֽח־לָֽנוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 5 At our neck [3 3]
are our pursuers, [2]
 
we are weary, [2]
and there is no rest for us. [1]
6 מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ [3 3] Pashta
נָתַ֣נּוּ יָ֔ד [2] Zaqef
 
אַשּׁ֖וּר [2] Tip'cha
לִשְׂבֹּ֥עַֽ לָֽחֶם׃ [1] Silluq

we have submitted a hand, [2]
 
(to) Assyria, [2]
to be satisfied with bread. [1]
7 אֲבֹתֵ֤ינוּ חָֽטְאוּ֙ [3] Pashta
*אינם **וְאֵינָ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
*אנחנו **וַאֲנַ֖חְנוּ [2] Tip'cha
עֲוֺנֹתֵיהֶ֥ם סָבָֽלְנוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 7 Our fathers sinned [3]
and they are no more, [2]
 
and we, [2]
their iniquities we have borne. [1]
8 עֲבָדִים֙ [3] Pashta
מָ֣שְׁלוּ בָ֔נוּ [2] Zaqef
 
פֹּרֵ֖ק [2] Tip'cha
אֵ֥ין מִיָּדָֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 8 Slaves, [3]
they rule over us, [2]
 
a deliverer [2]
from their hand there is not. [1]
9 בְּנַפְשֵׁ֙נוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
נָבִ֣יא לַחְמֵ֔נוּ [2] Zaqef
 
מִפְּנֵ֖י [2] Tip'cha
חֶ֥רֶב הַמִּדְבָּֽר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 9 At the peril of our lives [3 3]
we get our bread, [2]
 
because of [2]
the sword of the wilderness. [1]
10 עוֹרֵ֙נוּ֙ [3 3] Pashta
כְּתַנּ֣וּר נִכְמָ֔רוּ [2] Zaqef
 
מִפְּנֵ֖י [2] Tip'cha
זַלְעֲפ֥וֹת רָעָֽב׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 10 Our skin [3 3]
is hot as an oven, [2]
 
because of [2]
the burning heat of hunger. [1]
11 נָשִׁים֙ [3] Pashta
בְּצִיּ֣וֹן עִנּ֔וּ [2] Zaqef
 
בְּתֻלֹ֖ת [2] Tip'cha
בְּעָרֵ֥י יְהוּדָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 11 Women [3]
in Zion have been violated, [2]
 
virgins [2]
in the cities of Judah. [1]
12 שָׂרִים֙ [3] Pashta
בְּיָדָ֣ם נִתְל֔וּ [2] Zaqef
 
פְּנֵ֥י זְקֵנִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
לֹ֥א נֶהְדָּֽרוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 12 Princes, [3]
by their hand they have been hanged, [2]
 
the faces of elders, [2]
they have not been honored. [1]
13 בַּחוּרִים֙ [3] Pashta
טְח֣וֹן נָשָׂ֔אוּ [2] Zaqef
 
וּנְעָרִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
בָּעֵ֥ץ כָּשָֽׁלוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 13 Young men, [3]
they toil at the millstone, [2]
 
and boys, [2]
they stagger under loads of wood. [1]
14 זְקֵנִים֙ [3] Pashta
מִשַּׁ֣עַר שָׁבָ֔תוּ [2] Zaqef
 
בַּחוּרִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
מִנְּגִינָתָֽם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 14 The elders, [3]
from the gate they have ceased, [2]
 
the young men [2]
from their music. [1]
15 שָׁבַת֙ [3] Pashta
מְשׂ֣וֹשׂ לִבֵּ֔נוּ [2] Zaqef
 
נֶהְפַּ֥ךְ לְאֵ֖בֶל [2] Tip'cha
מְחֹלֵֽנוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 15 It has ceased, [3]
the joy of our heart, [2]
 
it has turned into mourning, [2]
our dancing. [1]
16 נָֽפְלָה֙ [3] Pashta
עֲטֶ֣רֶת רֹאשֵׁ֔נוּ [2] Zaqef
 
אֽוֹי־נָ֥א לָ֖נוּ [2] Tip'cha
כִּ֥י חָטָֽאנוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 16 It has fallen, [3]
the crown of our head, [2]
 
woe is now to us, [2]
for we have sinned! [1]
17 עַל־זֶ֗ה [3] Revi'i
הָיָ֤ה דָוֶה֙ [3] Pashta
לִבֵּ֔נוּ [2] Zaqef
 
עַל־אֵ֖לֶּה [2] Tip'cha
חָשְׁכ֥וּ עֵינֵֽינוּ׃ [1] Silluq

it has become faint, [3]
our heart, [2]
 
for these things [2]
our eyes have grown dim, [1]
18 עַ֤ל הַר־צִיּוֹן֙ [3] Pashta
שֶׁשָּׁמֵ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
שׁוּעָלִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
הִלְּכוּ־בֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq

which lies desolate [2]
 
(as) jackals, [2]
they prowl over it. [1]
19 אַתָּ֤ה יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta
לְעוֹלָ֣ם תֵּשֵׁ֔ב [2] Zaqef
 
כִּסְאֲךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha
לְד֥וֹר וָדֽוֹר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 19 You O LORD, [3]
you remain forever, [2]
 
your throne [2]
is from generation to generation. [1]
20 לָ֤מָּה לָנֶ֙צַח֙ [3 3] Pashta
תִּשְׁכָּחֵ֔נוּ [2] Zaqef
 
תַּֽעַזְבֵ֖נוּ [2] Tip'cha
לְאֹ֥רֶךְ יָמִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 20 Why forever [3 3]
do you forget us, [2]
 
(and) forsake us [2]
for so long? [1]
21 הֲשִׁיבֵ֨נוּ יְהֹוָ֤ה ׀ אֵלֶ֙יךָ֙ [3 3] Pashta
*ונשוב **וְֽנָשׁ֔וּבָה [2] Zaqef
 
חַדֵּ֥שׁ יָמֵ֖ינוּ [2] Tip'cha
כְּקֶֽדֶם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 21 Restore us O LORD to yourself [3 3]
that we may be restored, [2]
 
renew our days [2]
as of old. [1]
22 כִּ֚י [3] Yetiv
אִם־מָאֹ֣ס מְאַסְתָּ֔נוּ [2] Zaqef
 
קָצַ֥פְתָּ עָלֵ֖ינוּ [2] Tip'cha
עַד־מְאֹֽד׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 22 Unless [3]
you have utterly rejected us, [2]
 
(and) you are angry with us [2]
beyond measure. [1]
