1 וְאַתָּ֞ה [4] Gershayim
בֵּֽית־לֶ֣חֶם אֶפְרָ֗תָה [3] Revi'i
 
צָעִיר֙ [3] Pashta
לִֽהְיוֹת֙ [3] Pashta
בְּאַלְפֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
מִמְּךָ֙ [3] Pashta
לִ֣י יֵצֵ֔א [2] Zaqef
 
לִֽהְי֥וֹת מוֹשֵׁ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל [1] Etnachta
 
וּמוֹצָאֹתָ֥יו מִקֶּ֖דֶם [2] Tip'cha
מִימֵ֥י עוֹלָֽם׃ [1] Silluq

O Bethlehem Ephrathah, [3]
 
insignificant [3]
(though you) be [3]
among the families of Judah, [2]
 
from you, [3]
to me one will come out, [2]
 
to be ruler [2]
over Israel; [1]
 
and his origins are from of old, [2]
from days of antiquity. [1]

וְיֶ֣תֶר אֶחָ֔יו [2] Zaqef
יְשׁוּב֖וּן [2] Tip'cha
עַל־בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ [1] Silluq

וְיָשָׁ֕בוּ [2] ZaqefG
כִּֽי־עַתָּ֥ה יִגְדַּ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
עַד־אַפְסֵי־אָֽרֶץ׃ [1] Silluq

and he will shepherd [3]
by the strength of the LORD, [2]
 
by the majesty [2]
of the name [2]
of the LORD his God; [1]
 
and they will remain, [2]
for then he will be great [2]
to the ends of the earth. [1]
4 וְהָיָ֥ה זֶ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
שָׁל֑וֹם [1] Etnachta
 
אַשּׁ֣וּר ׀ [4] Legarmeh
כִּֽי־יָב֣וֹא בְאַרְצֵ֗נוּ [3] Revi'i
 
וְכִ֤י יִדְרֹךְ֙ [3] Pashta
בְּאַרְמְנוֹתֵ֔ינוּ [2] Zaqef
 
וַהֲקֵמֹ֤נוּ עָלָיו֙ [3] Pashta
שִׁבְעָ֣ה רֹעִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
וּשְׁמֹנָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
נְסִיכֵ֥י אָדָֽם׃ [1] Silluq

(our) peace; [1]
 
Assyria [4]
when it invades our land, [3]
 
and when he marches [3]
against our fortresses, [2]
 
then we will raise against him [3]
seven shepherds, [2]
 
and eight [2]

בִּפְתָחֶ֑יהָ [1] Etnachta
 
וְהִצִּיל֙ [3] Pashta
מֵֽאַשּׁ֔וּר [2] Zaqef
 
כִּֽי־יָב֣וֹא בְאַרְצֵ֔נוּ [2] Zaqef
וְכִ֥י יִדְרֹ֖ךְ [2] Tip'cha
בִּגְבוּלֵֽנוּ׃ [1] Silluq

the land of Assyria [3]
with the sword, [2]
 
and the land of Nimrod [2]
at its gates; [1]
 
and he will deliver us [3]
from Assyria, [2]
 
when he invades our land, [2]
and when he marches [2]
in our territory. [1]

מֵאֵ֣ת יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
כִּרְבִיבִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
עֲלֵי־עֵ֑שֶׂב [1] Etnachta
 
אֲשֶׁ֤ר לֹֽא־יְקַוֶּה֙ [3] Pashta
לְאִ֔ישׁ [2] Zaqef
 
וְלֹ֥א יְיַחֵ֖ל [2] Tip'cha
לִבְנֵ֥י אָדָֽם׃ [1] Silluq

the remnant of Jacob, [3]

many peoples, [2]
 
like dew [3]
from the LORD, [2]
 
like showers [2]
on the grass; [1]
 
which don’t wait [3]
for anyone, [2]
 
and don't wait [2]
for the children of man. [1]
7 וְהָיָה֩ שְׁאֵרִ֨ית יַעֲקֹ֜ב [4] Geresh
בַּגּוֹיִ֗ם [3] Revi'i
 
בְּקֶ֙רֶב֙ [3 3] Pashta
עַמִּ֣ים רַבִּ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
כְּאַרְיֵה֙ [3] Pashta
בְּבַהֲמ֣וֹת יַ֔עַר [2] Zaqef
 
כִּכְפִ֖יר [2] Tip'cha
בְּעֶדְרֵי־צֹ֑אן [1] Etnachta
 
אֲשֶׁ֧ר אִם־עָבַ֛ר [3] Tevir
וְרָמַ֥ס וְטָרַ֖ף [2] Tip'cha
וְאֵ֥ין מַצִּֽיל׃ [1] Silluq

among the nations, [3]
 
among [3 3]
many peoples, [2]
 
like a lion [3]
among the animals of the forest, [2]
 
like a young lion [2]
among flocks of sheep; [1]
 
who if he has passed through, [3]
and he tramples and he tears, [2]
there is no one to deliver. [1]
8 תָּרֹ֥ם יָדְךָ֖ [2] Tip'cha
עַל־צָרֶ֑יךָ [1] Etnachta
 
וְכׇל־אֹיְבֶ֖יךָ [2] Tip'cha
יִכָּרֵֽתוּ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 9 Let your hand be lifted up [2]
above your adversaries; [1]
 
and all your enemies, [2]
let them be cut off. [1]
9 וְהָיָ֤ה בַיּוֹם־הַהוּא֙ [3] Pashta
נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
וְהִכְרַתִּ֥י סוּסֶ֖יךָ [2] Tip'cha
מִקִּרְבֶּ֑ךָ [1] Etnachta
 
וְהַאֲבַדְתִּ֖י [2] Tip'cha
מַרְכְּבֹתֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 2 10 “And it will be in that day” [3]
says the LORD, [2]
 
“that I will cut off your horses [2]
from among you; [1]
 
and I will destroy [2]
your chariots. [1]
10 וְהִכְרַתִּ֖י [2] Tip'cha
עָרֵ֣י אַרְצֶ֑ךָ [1] Etnachta
 
וְהָרַסְתִּ֖י [2] Tip'cha
כׇּל־מִבְצָרֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 11 And I will cut off [2]
the cities of your land; [1]
 
and I will tear down [2]
all your strongholds. [1]
11 וְהִכְרַתִּ֥י כְשָׁפִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
מִיָּדֶ֑ךָ [1] Etnachta
 
וּֽמְעוֹנְנִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
לֹ֥א יִֽהְיוּ־לָֽךְ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 12 And I will cut off witchcraft [2]
from your hand; [1]
 
and soothsayers [2]
you shall not have. [1]
12 וְהִכְרַתִּ֧י פְסִילֶ֛יךָ [3] Tevir
וּמַצֵּבוֹתֶ֖יךָ [2] Tip'cha
מִקִּרְבֶּ֑ךָ [1] Etnachta
 
וְלֹא־תִשְׁתַּחֲוֶ֥ה ע֖וֹד [2] Tip'cha
לְמַעֲשֵׂ֥ה יָדֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 13 And I will cut off your images [3]
and your sacred pillars [2]
from among you; [1]
 
and you shall no longer bow down [2]
to the work of your hands. [1]
13 וְנָתַשְׁתִּ֥י אֲשֵׁירֶ֖יךָ [2] Tip'cha
מִקִּרְבֶּ֑ךָ [1] Etnachta
 
וְהִשְׁמַדְתִּ֖י [2] Tip'cha
עָרֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 14 I will uproot your Asherah poles [2]
from among you; [1]
 
and I will destroy [2]
your cities. [1]
14 וְעָשִׂ֜יתִי [4] Geresh
בְּאַ֧ף וּבְחֵמָ֛ה [3] Tevir
נָקָ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־הַגּוֹיִ֑ם [1] Etnachta
 
אֲשֶׁ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
לֹ֥א שָׁמֵֽעוּ׃ [1] Silluq
פ		 1 2 3 4 2 15 And I will execute [4]
in anger and in wrath [3]
vengeance [2]
on the nations; [1]
 
which [2]
have not obeyed.” [1]
