| 1 בֵּ֣ן חָ֭כָם [3] Dechi  מ֣וּסַר אָ֑ב [2] Etnachta לֹא־שָׁמַ֥ע גְּעָרָֽה׃ [1] Silluq  | 
1 A wise son, [3]  a father’s discipline; [2] he doesn’t listen to correction. [1]  |

| 2 מִפְּרִ֣י פִי־אִ֭ישׁ [3] Dechi  יֹ֣אכַל ט֑וֹב [2] Etnachta חָמָֽס׃ [1] Silluq  | 
2 From the fruit of a man's mouth [3]  he enjoys good things; [2] is violence. [1]  |

| 3 נֹצֵ֣ר פִּ֭יו [3] Dechi  שֹׁמֵ֣ר נַפְשׁ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta מְחִתָּה־לֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq  | 
3 Whoever guards his mouth [3]  preserves his soul; [2] comes to ruin. [1]  |

| 4 מִתְאַוָּ֣ה וָ֭אַיִן [3] Dechi  נַפְשׁ֣וֹ עָצֵ֑ל [2] Etnachta תְּדֻשָּֽׁן׃ [1] Silluq  | 
4 Craves yet has nothing, [3]  the soul of a sluggard; [2] it will be satisfied. [1]  |

| 5 דְּבַר־שֶׁ֭קֶר [3] Dechi  יִשְׂנָ֣א צַדִּ֑יק [2] Etnachta יַבְאִ֥ישׁ וְיַחְפִּֽיר׃ [1] Silluq  | 
5 A word of falsehood [3]  the righteous hates; [2] he acts in shameful disgrace. [1]  |

| 6 צְ֭דָקָה [3] Dechi  תִּצֹּ֣ר תׇּם־דָּ֑רֶךְ [2] Etnachta תְּסַלֵּ֥ף חַטָּֽאת׃ [1] Silluq  | 
6 Righteousness, [3]  it guards the path of one with integrity; [2] it misleads the sinner. [1]  |

| 7 יֵ֣שׁ מִ֭תְעַשֵּׁר [3] Dechi  וְאֵ֣ין כֹּ֑ל [2] Etnachta וְה֣וֹן רָֽב׃ [1] Silluq  | 
7 There is one who makes himself rich [3]  but yet has nothing; [2] yet has great wealth. [1]  |

| 8 כֹּ֣פֶר נֶֽפֶשׁ־אִ֣ישׁ [3] VDechi  עׇשְׁר֑וֹ [2] Etnachta לֹֽא־שָׁמַ֥ע גְּעָרָֽה׃ [1] Silluq  | 
8 The ransom of a man’s life [3]  is his wealth; [2] he hears no threat. [1]  |

| 9 אוֹר־צַדִּיקִ֥ים יִשְׂמָ֑ח [2] Etnachta  יִדְעָֽךְ׃ [1] Silluq  | 
9 The light of the righteous shines joyfully; [2]  it is snuffed out. [1]  |

| 10 רַק־בְּ֭זָדוֹן [3] Dechi  יִתֵּ֣ן מַצָּ֑ה [2] Etnachta חׇכְמָֽה׃ [1] Silluq  | 
10 With pride [3]  comes (only) contention; [2] is wisdom. [1]  |

| 11 ה֭וֹן [3] Dechi  מֵהֶ֣בֶל יִמְעָ֑ט [2] Etnachta יַרְבֶּֽה׃ [1] Silluq  | 
11 Wealth [3]  gained by fraud dwindles away; [2] he increases it. [1]  |

| 12 תּוֹחֶ֣לֶת מְ֭מֻשָּׁכָה [3] Dechi  מַחֲלָה־לֵ֑ב [2] Etnachta תַּאֲוָ֥ה בָאָֽה׃ [1] Silluq  | 
12 Hope deferred [3]  makes the heart sick; [2] is a desire fulfilled. [1]  |

| 13 בָּ֣ז לְ֭דָבָר [3] Dechi  יֵחָ֣בֶל ל֑וֹ [2] Etnachta ה֣וּא יְשֻׁלָּֽם׃ [1] Silluq  | 
13 Whoever despises a word of instruction, [3]  he will pay the price; [2] he, he will be rewarded. [1]  |

| 14 תּוֹרַ֣ת חָ֭כָם [3] Dechi  מְק֣וֹר חַיִּ֑ים [2] Etnachta מִמֹּ֥קְשֵׁי מָֽוֶת׃ [1] Silluq  | 
14 The instruction of the wise [3]  is a fountain of life; [2] from the snares of death. [1]  |

| 15 שֵֽׂכֶל־ט֭וֹב [3] Dechi  יִתֶּן־חֵ֑ן [2] Etnachta אֵיתָֽן׃ [1] Silluq  | 
15 Good understanding, [3]  it wins favor; [2] is hard. [1]  |

| 16 כׇּל־עָ֭רוּם [3] Dechi  יַעֲשֶׂ֣ה בְדָ֑עַת [2] Etnachta יִפְרֹ֥שׂ אִוֶּֽלֶת׃ [1] Silluq  | 
16 Every prudent man, [3]  he acts with knowledge; [2] he displays folly. [1]  |

| 17 מַלְאָ֣ךְ רָ֭שָׁע [3] Dechi  יִפֹּ֣ל בְּרָ֑ע [2] Etnachta מַרְפֵּֽא׃ [1] Silluq  | 
17 A wicked messenger, [3]  he falls into trouble; [2] is healing. [1]  |

| 18 רֵ֣ישׁ וְ֭קָלוֹן [3] Dechi  פּוֹרֵ֣עַ מוּסָ֑ר [2] Etnachta יְכֻבָּֽד׃ [1] Silluq  | 
18 Poverty and shame [3]  (come to) one who refuses discipline; [2] he is honored. [1]  |

| 19 תַּאֲוָ֣ה נִ֭הְיָה [3] Dechi  תֶּעֱרַ֣ב לְנָ֑פֶשׁ [2] Etnachta ס֣וּר מֵרָֽע׃ [1] Silluq  | 
19 A desire fulfilled, [3]  it is sweet to the soul; [2] is to turn aside from evil. [1]  |

| 20 *הלוך **הוֹלֵ֣ךְ אֶת־חֲכָמִ֣ים [3] VDechi  *וחכם **יֶחְכָּ֑ם [2] Etnachta יֵרֽוֹעַ׃ [1] Silluq  | 
20 One who walks with the wise, [3]  he becomes wise; [2] he suffers harm. [1]  |

| 21 חַ֭טָּאִים [3] Dechi  תְּרַדֵּ֣ף רָעָ֑ה [2] Etnachta יְשַׁלֶּם־טֽוֹב׃ [1] Silluq  | 
21 Sinners, [3]  misfortune pursues; [2] prosperity rewards. [1]  |

| 22 ט֗וֹב [3] Revi'i  יַנְחִ֥יל בְּנֵֽי־בָנִ֑ים [2] Etnachta חֵ֣יל חוֹטֵֽא׃ [1] Silluq  | 
22 The good, [3]  he leaves an inheritance to sons of sons; [2] is the wealth of the sinner. [1]  |

| 23 רׇב־אֹ֭כֶל [3] Dechi  נִ֣יר רָאשִׁ֑ים [2] Etnachta בְּלֹ֣א מִשְׁפָּֽט׃ [1] Silluq  | 
23 An abundance of food [3]  is the unplowed ground of the poor; [2] by injustice. [1]  |

| 24 חוֹשֵׂ֣ךְ שִׁ֭בְטוֹ [3] Dechi  שׂוֹנֵ֣א בְנ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta שִׁחֲר֥וֹ מוּסָֽר׃ [1] Silluq  | 
24 One who spares his rod [3]  hates his son; [2] he is careful to discipline him. [1]  |

| 25 צַדִּ֗יק [3] Revi'i  אֹ֭כֵֽל [3] Dechi לְשֹׂ֣בַע נַפְשׁ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta תֶּחְסָֽר׃ [1] Silluq  | 
25 The righteous [3]  eats [3] to the satisfying of his appetite; [2] it goes hungry. [1] ¶  |
