1 לְאָדָ֥ם מַעַרְכֵי־לֵ֑ב [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝מֵיְהֹוָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מַעֲנֵ֥ה לָשֽׁוֹן׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 1 The plans of the heart belong to a man; [2]
 
but from the LORD [2]
is the answer of the tongue. [1]
2 כׇּֽל־דַּרְכֵי־אִ֭ישׁ [3] Dechi
זַ֣ךְ בְּעֵינָ֑יו [2] Etnachta
 
וְתֹכֵ֖ן רוּח֣וֹת [2] VRevMug
יְהֹוָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 All the ways of a man [3]
are pure in his own eyes; [2]
 
but (he) weighs the motives, [2]
the LORD. [1]
3 גֹּ֣ל אֶל־יְהֹוָ֣ה [3] VDechi
מַעֲשֶׂ֑יךָ [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝יִכֹּ֗נוּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מַחְשְׁבֹתֶֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 Commit to the LORD [3]
your works; [2]
 
and they shall be established, [2]
your plans. [1]
4 כֹּ֤ל פָּעַ֣ל יְ֭הֹוָה [3] Dechi
לַֽמַּעֲנֵ֑הוּ [2] Etnachta
 
וְגַם־רָ֝שָׁ֗ע [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לְי֣וֹם רָעָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 4 The LORD has made everything [3]
for its own purpose; [2]
 
even the wicked [2]
for a day of trouble. [1]
5 תּוֹעֲבַ֣ת יְ֭הֹוָה [3] Dechi
כׇּל־גְּבַהּ־לֵ֑ב [2] Etnachta
 
יָ֥ד לְ֝יָ֗ד [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹ֣א יִנָּקֶֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 5 An abomination to the LORD [3]
is every person who is proud in heart; [2]
 
certainly [2]
he shall not go unpunished. [1]
6 בְּחֶ֣סֶד וֶ֭אֱמֶת [3] Dechi
יְכֻפַּ֣ר עָוֺ֑ן [2] Etnachta
 
וּבְיִרְאַ֥ת יְ֝הֹוָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
ס֣וּר מֵרָֽע׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 6 By mercy and faithfulness [3]
iniquity is atoned for; [2]
 
and by the fear of the LORD [2]
is the turning aside from evil. [1]
7 בִּרְצ֣וֹת יְ֭הֹוָה [3] Dechi
דַּרְכֵי־אִ֑ישׁ [2] Etnachta
 
גַּם־א֝וֹיְבָ֗יו [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יַשְׁלִ֥ם אִתּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 7 When the LORD is pleased with [3]
the ways of a person; [2]
 
even his enemies, [2]
he makes to be at peace with him. [1]
8 טוֹב־מְ֭עַט [3] Dechi
בִּצְדָקָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
מֵרֹ֥ב תְּ֝בוּא֗וֹת [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בְּלֹ֣א מִשְׁפָּֽט׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 8 Better is a little [3]
with righteousness; [2]
 
than great gains [2]
without justice. [1]
9 לֵ֣ב אָ֭דָם [3] Dechi
יְחַשֵּׁ֣ב דַּרְכּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
וַ֝יהֹוָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יָכִ֥ין צַעֲדֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 9 The heart of a man, [3]
it plans his course; [2]
 
but the LORD, [2]
he directs his steps. [1]
10 קֶ֤סֶם ׀ [4/3] Mahpakh Legarmeh
עַֽל־שִׂפְתֵי־מֶ֑לֶךְ [2] Etnachta
 
בְּ֝מִשְׁפָּ֗ט [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹ֣א יִמְעַל־פִּֽיו׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 10 Inspired judgments [4/3]
are on the lips of a king; [2]
 
in judgement [2]
he shall not betray his mouth. [1]
11 פֶּ֤לֶס ׀ [4] Mahpakh Legarmeh
וּמֹאזְנֵ֣י מִ֭שְׁפָּט [3] Dechi
לַיהֹוָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
מַ֝עֲשֵׂ֗הוּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כׇּל־אַבְנֵי־כִֽיס׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 2 11 Scales [4]
and honest balances [3]
belong to the LORD; [2]
 
his work, [2]
are all the weights in the bag. [1]
12 תּוֹעֲבַ֣ת מְ֭לָכִים [3] Dechi
עֲשׂ֣וֹת רֶ֑שַׁע [2] Etnachta
 
כִּ֥י בִ֝צְדָקָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יִכּ֥וֹן כִּסֵּֽא׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 12 It is an abomination for kings [3]
to do wickedness; [2]
 
for by righteousness [2]
a throne is established. [1]
13 רְצ֣וֹן מְ֭לָכִים [3] Dechi
שִׂפְתֵי־צֶ֑דֶק [2] Etnachta
 
וְדֹבֵ֖ר יְשָׁרִ֣ים [2] VRevMug
יֶאֱהָֽב׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 13 The delight of kings [3]
are righteous lips; [2]
 
and the one who speaks the truth, [2]
he loves. [1]
14 חֲמַת־מֶ֥לֶךְ מַלְאֲכֵי־מָ֑וֶת [2] Etnachta
 
וְאִ֖ישׁ חָכָ֣ם [2] VRevMug
יְכַפְּרֶֽנָּה׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 14 The wrath of a king is a messenger of death; [2]
 
but a wise man [2]
will pacify it. [1]
15 בְּאוֹר־פְּנֵי־מֶ֥לֶךְ חַיִּ֑ים [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝רְצוֹנ֗וֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כְּעָ֣ב מַלְקֽוֹשׁ׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 15 In the light of the face of a king is life; [2]
 
and his favor [2]
is like a cloud of spring rain. [1]
16 קְֽנֹה־חׇכְמָ֗ה [3] Revi'i
מַה־טּ֥וֹב מֵחָר֑וּץ [2] Etnachta
 
וּקְנ֥וֹת בִּ֝ינָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
נִבְחָ֥ר מִכָּֽסֶף׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 16 To gain wisdom, [3]
how much better than gold; [2]
 
and to gain understanding, [2]
to be chosen over silver. [1]
17 מְסִלַּ֣ת יְ֭שָׁרִים [3] Dechi
ס֣וּר מֵרָ֑ע [2] Etnachta
 
שֹׁמֵ֥ר נַ֝פְשׁ֗וֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
נֹצֵ֥ר דַּרְכּֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 17 The highway of the upright [3]
is to turn aside from evil; [2]
 
(he) preserves his life, [2]
the one who guards his way. [1]
18 לִפְנֵי־שֶׁ֥בֶר גָּא֑וֹן [2] Etnachta
 
וְלִפְנֵ֥י כִ֝שָּׁל֗וֹן [2] Revi'i Mugrash
גֹּ֣בַהּ רֽוּחַ׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 18 Before destruction is pride; [2]
 
and before stumbling [2]
is an arrogant spirit. [1]
19 ט֣וֹב שְׁפַל־ר֭וּחַ [3] Dechi
אֶת־*עניים **עֲנָוִ֑ים [2] Etnachta
 
מֵחַלֵּ֥ק שָׁ֝לָ֗ל [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אֶת־גֵּאִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 19 It is better to be of a lowly spirit [3]
with the poor; [2]
 
than to divide plunder [2]
with the proud. [1]
20 מַשְׂכִּ֣יל עַל־דָּ֭בָר [3] Dechi
יִמְצָא־ט֑וֹב [2] Etnachta
 
וּבוֹטֵ֖חַ בַּיהֹוָ֣ה [2] VRevMug
אַשְׁרָֽיו׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 20 The one who pays attention to the word, [3]
he finds prosperity; [2]
 
and the one who trusts in the LORD, [2]
how blessed is he. [1]
21 לַֽחֲכַם־לֵ֭ב [3] Dechi
יִקָּרֵ֣א נָב֑וֹן [2] Etnachta
 
וּמֶ֥תֶק שְׂ֝פָתַ֗יִם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יֹסִ֥יף לֶֽקַח׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 21 The wise in heart [3]
shall be called prudent; [2]
 
and sweetness of lips [2]
increases persuasiveness. [1]
22 מְק֣וֹר חַ֭יִּים [3] Dechi
שֵׂ֣כֶל בְּעָלָ֑יו [2] Etnachta
 
וּמוּסַ֖ר אֱוִלִ֣ים [2] VRevMug
אִוֶּֽלֶת׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 22 A fountain of life, [3]
is understanding to the one who has it; [2]
 
but the discipline of fools [2]
is foolishness. [1]
23 לֵ֣ב חָ֭כָם [3] Dechi
יַשְׂכִּ֣יל פִּ֑יהוּ [2] Etnachta
 
וְעַל־שְׂ֝פָתָ֗יו [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יֹסִ֥יף לֶֽקַח׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 23 The heart of the wise [3]
instructs his mouth; [2]
 
and to his lips [2]
it adds persuasiveness. [1]
24 צוּף־דְּ֭בַשׁ [3] Dechi
אִמְרֵי־נֹ֑עַם [2] Etnachta
 
מָת֥וֹק לַ֝נֶּ֗פֶשׁ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
וּמַרְפֵּ֥א לָעָֽצֶם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 24 A honeycomb [3]
is words of kindness; [2]
 
sweet to the soul, [2]
and healing to the bones. [1]
25 יֵ֤שׁ דֶּ֣רֶךְ יָ֭שָׁר [3] Dechi
לִפְנֵי־אִ֑ישׁ [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝אַחֲרִיתָ֗הּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
דַּרְכֵי־מָֽוֶת׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 25 There is a way which seems straight [3]
before a person; [2]
 
but its end [2]
is the way of death. [1]
26 נֶ֣פֶשׁ עָ֭מֵל [3] Dechi
עָ֣מְלָה לּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
כִּֽי־אָכַ֖ף עָלָ֣יו [2] VRevMug
פִּֽיהוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 26 The appetite of a laborer, [3]
it labors for him; [2]
 
for it urges him on, [2]
his mouth. [1]
27 אִ֣ישׁ בְּ֭לִיַּעַל [3] Dechi
כֹּרֶ֣ה רָעָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וְעַל־*שפתיו **שְׂ֝פָת֗וֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כְּאֵ֣שׁ צָרָֽבֶת׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 27 A worthless person [3]
digs up evil; [2]
 
what is on his lips [2]
is like a scorching fire. [1]
28 אִ֣ישׁ תַּ֭הְפֻּכוֹת [3] Dechi
יְשַׁלַּ֣ח מָד֑וֹן [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝נִרְגָּ֗ן [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מַפְרִ֥יד אַלּֽוּף׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 28 A perverse person [3]
stirs up strife; [2]
 
and a slanderer [2]
separates close friends. [1]
29 אִ֣ישׁ חָ֭מָס [3] Dechi
יְפַתֶּ֣ה רֵעֵ֑הוּ [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝הוֹלִיכ֗וֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ לֹא־טֽוֹב׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 29 A person of violence, [3]
he deceives his neighbor; [2]
 
and he leads him [2]
in a way that is not good. [1]
30 עֹצֶ֣ה עֵ֭ינָיו [3] Dechi
לַחְשֹׁ֣ב תַּהְפֻּכ֑וֹת [2] Etnachta
 
קֹרֵ֥ץ שְׂ֝פָתָ֗יו [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כִּלָּ֥ה רָעָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 30 One who winks his eyes [3]
plots perverse things; [2]
 
one who purses his lips [2]
is bent on evil. [1]
31 עֲטֶ֣רֶת תִּפְאֶ֣רֶת [3] VDechi
שֵׂיבָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
בְּדֶ֥רֶךְ צְ֝דָקָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
תִּמָּצֵֽא׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 31 A crown of glory [3]
is gray hair; [2]
 
by the way of righteousness [2]
it is attained. [1]
32 ט֤וֹב אֶ֣רֶךְ אַ֭פַּיִם [3] Dechi
מִגִּבּ֑וֹר [2] Etnachta
 
וּמֹשֵׁ֥ל בְּ֝רוּח֗וֹ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מִלֹּכֵ֥ד עִֽיר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 32 Better is one who is slow to anger, [3]
than a warrior; [2]
 
and one who rules over his spirit, [2]
than one who captures a city. [1]
33 בַּ֭חֵיק [3] Dechi
יוּטַ֣ל אֶת־הַגּוֹרָ֑ל [2] Etnachta
 
וּ֝מֵיְהֹוָ֗ה [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כׇּל־מִשְׁפָּטֽוֹ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 33 Into the lap, [3]
the lot is cast; [2]
 
but from the LORD [2]
is its every decision. [1]
