1 שִׁמְע֣וּ בָ֭נִים [3] Dechi
מ֣וּסַר אָ֑ב [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝הַקְשִׁ֗יבוּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לָדַ֥עַת בִּינָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 1 Listen O sons [3]
to the instruction of a father; [2]
 
and be attentive [2]
to gain understanding, [1]
2 כִּ֤י לֶ֣קַח ט֭וֹב [3] Dechi
נָתַ֣תִּי לָכֶ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
תּ֝וֹרָתִ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אַֽל־תַּעֲזֹֽבוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 2 for sound teaching [3]
I give to you; [2]
 
my instruction [2]
do not forsake. [1]
3 כִּֽי־בֵ֭ן [3] Dechi
הָיִ֣יתִי לְאָבִ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
רַ֥ךְ וְ֝יָחִ֗יד [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לִפְנֵ֥י אִמִּֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 3 When a son [3]
I was to my father; [2]
 
tender and an only child [2]
in the sight of my mother, [1]
4 וַיֹּרֵ֗נִי [3] Revi'i
וַיֹּ֥אמֶר לִ֗י [3] Revi'i
יִֽתְמׇךְ־דְּבָרַ֥י לִבֶּ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta
 
שְׁמֹ֖ר מִצְוֺתַ֣י [2] VRevMug
וֶחְיֵֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 3 2 4 he taught me [3]
and he said to me, [3]
“Let your heart hold fast to my words; [2]
 
keep my commandments [2]
and live. [1]
5 קְנֵ֣ה חׇ֭כְמָה [3] Dechi
קְנֵ֣ה בִינָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
אַל־תִּשְׁכַּ֥ח וְאַל־תֵּ֝֗ט [2] Revi'i Mugrash
מֵאִמְרֵי־פִֽי׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 5 Get wisdom, [3]
get understanding; [2]
 
do not forget and do not turn aside [2]
from the words of my mouth. [1]
6 אַל־תַּעַזְבֶ֥הָ וְתִשְׁמְרֶ֑ךָּ [2] Etnachta
 
אֱהָבֶ֥הָ וְתִצְּרֶֽךָּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 6 Do not forsake her, and she will keep you; [2]
 
love her and she will watch over you. [1]
7 רֵאשִׁ֣ית חׇ֭כְמָה [3] Dechi
קְנֵ֣ה חׇכְמָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וּבְכׇל־קִ֝נְיָנְךָ֗ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
קְנֵ֣ה בִינָֽה׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 7 First is wisdom - [3]
get wisdom; [2]
 
and whatever you get, [2]
get understanding. [1]
8 סַלְסְלֶ֥הָ וּֽתְרוֹמְמֶ֑ךָּ [2] Etnachta
 
תְּ֝כַבֵּ֗דְךָ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כִּ֣י תְחַבְּקֶֽנָּה׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 8 Treasure her and she will exalt you; [2]
 
she will honor you [2]
when you embrace her. [1]
9 תִּתֵּ֣ן לְ֭רֹאשְׁךָ [3] Dechi
לִוְיַת־חֵ֑ן [2] Etnachta
 
עֲטֶ֖רֶת תִּפְאֶ֣רֶת [2] VRevMug
תְּמַגְּנֶֽךָּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 9 She will place on your head [3]
a garland of grace; [2]
 
a crown of glory [2]
she will give to you.” [1]
10 שְׁמַ֣ע בְּ֭נִי [3] Dechi
וְקַ֣ח אֲמָרָ֑י [2] Etnachta
 
וְיִרְבּ֥וּ לְ֝ךָ֗ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
שְׁנ֣וֹת חַיִּֽים׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 10 Listen O my son [3]
and receive my words; [2]
 
that they may be many for you, [2]
years of life. [1]
11 בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ חׇ֭כְמָה [3] Dechi
הֹרֵיתִ֑יךָ [2] Etnachta
 
הִ֝דְרַכְתִּ֗יךָ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בְּמַעְגְּלֵי־יֹֽשֶׁר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 11 In the way of wisdom [3]
I have taught you; [2]
 
I have led you [2]
in straight paths. [1]
12 בְּֽ֭לֶכְתְּךָ [3] Dechi
לֹא־יֵצַ֣ר צַעֲדֶ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta
 
וְאִם־תָּ֝ר֗וּץ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
לֹ֣א תִכָּשֵֽׁל׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 12 When you walk [3]
your step will not be hindered; [2]
 
and when you run [2]
you will not stumble. [1]
13 הַחֲזֵ֣ק בַּמּוּסָ֣ר [3] VDechi
אַל־תֶּ֑רֶף [2] Etnachta
 
נִ֝צְּרֶ֗הָ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
כִּי־הִ֥יא חַיֶּֽיךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 13 Take firm hold of discipline, [3]
do not let go; [2]
 
keep her, [2]
for she is your life. [1]
14 בְּאֹ֣רַח רְ֭שָׁעִים [3] Dechi
אַל־תָּבֹ֑א [2] Etnachta
 
וְאַל־תְּ֝אַשֵּׁ֗ר [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ רָעִֽים׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 14 Into the path of the wicked [3]
do not enter; [2]
 
and do not walk [2]
in the way of the evil. [1]
15 פְּרָעֵ֥הוּ אַל־תַּעֲבׇר־בּ֑וֹ [2] Etnachta
 
שְׂטֵ֖ה מֵעָלָ֣יו [2] VRevMug
וַעֲבֹֽר׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 15 Avoid it, do not pass by it; [2]
 
turn aside from it, [2]
and pass on. [1]
16 כִּ֤י לֹ֣א יִֽ֭שְׁנוּ [3] Dechi
אִם־לֹ֣א יָרֵ֑עוּ [2] Etnachta
 
וְֽנִגְזְלָ֥ה שְׁ֝נָתָ֗ם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
אִם־לֹ֥א *יכשולו **יַכְשִֽׁילוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 16 For they can’t sleep [3]
unless they do evil; [2]
 
and their sleep is taken away [2]
unless they make someone stumble. [1]
17 כִּ֣י לָ֭חֲמוּ [3] Dechi
לֶ֣חֶם רֶ֑שַׁע [2] Etnachta
 
וְיֵ֖ין חֲמָסִ֣ים [2] VRevMug
יִשְׁתּֽוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 17 For they eat [3]
the bread of wickedness; [2]
 
and the wine of violence [2]
they drink. [1]
18 וְאֹ֣רַח צַ֭דִּיקִים [3] Dechi
כְּא֣וֹר נֹ֑גַהּ [2] Etnachta
 
הוֹלֵ֥ךְ וָ֝א֗וֹר [2] Revi'i Mugrash
עַד־נְכ֥וֹן הַיּֽוֹם׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 18 But the path of the righteous [3]
is like the light of dawn; [2]
 
which shines brighter and brighter [2]
until the full day. [1]
19 דֶּ֣רֶךְ רְ֭שָׁעִים [3] Dechi
כָּאֲפֵלָ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
לֹ֥א יָ֝דְע֗וּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בַּמֶּ֥ה יִכָּשֵֽׁלוּ׃ [1] Silluq

2 3 2 19 The way of the wicked [3]
is like darkness; [2]
 
they do not know [2]
what makes them stumble. [1]
20 בְּ֭נִי [3] Dechi
לִדְבָרַ֣י הַקְשִׁ֑יבָה [2] Etnachta
 
לַ֝אֲמָרַ֗י [2] Revi'i Mugrash
הַט־אׇזְנֶֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 20 O my son, [3]
to my words be attentive; [2]
 
to my sayings [2]
incline your ear. [1]
21 אַל־יַלִּ֥יזוּ מֵעֵינֶ֑יךָ [2] Etnachta
 
שׇׁ֝מְרֵ֗ם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
בְּת֣וֹךְ לְבָבֶֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 2 21 Do not let them out of your sight; [2]
 
keep them [2]
within your heart. [1]
22 כִּֽי־חַיִּ֣ים הֵ֭ם [3] Dechi
לְמֹצְאֵיהֶ֑ם [2] Etnachta
 
וּֽלְכׇל־בְּשָׂר֥וֹ מַרְפֵּֽא׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 22 For they are life [3]
to those who find them; [2]
 
and health to their whole body. [1]
23 מִֽכׇּל־מִ֭שְׁמָר [3] Dechi
נְצֹ֣ר לִבֶּ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta
 
כִּֽי־מִ֝מֶּ֗נּוּ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
תּוֹצְא֥וֹת חַיִּֽים׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 23 With all diligence [3]
guard your heart; [2]
 
for from it [2]
are the springs of life. [1]
24 הָסֵ֣ר מִ֭מְּךָ [3] Dechi
עִקְּשׁ֣וּת פֶּ֑ה [2] Etnachta
 
וּלְז֥וּת שְׂ֝פָתַ֗יִם [2] Revi'i Mugrash
הַרְחֵ֥ק מִמֶּֽךָּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 24 Put away from yourself [3]
a perverse mouth; [2]
 
and devious lips [2]
put far from you. [1]
25 עֵ֭ינֶיךָ [3] Dechi
לְנֹ֣כַח יַבִּ֑יטוּ [2] Etnachta
 
וְ֝עַפְעַפֶּ֗יךָ [2] Revi'i Mugrash
יַיְשִׁ֥רוּ נֶגְדֶּֽךָ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 2 25 Your eyes, [3]
directly ahead let them look; [2]
 
and your gaze [2]
fix straight in front of you. [1]
26 פַּ֭לֵּס [3] Dechi
מַעְגַּ֣ל רַגְלֶ֑ךָ [2] Etnachta
 
וְֽכׇל־דְּרָכֶ֥יךָ יִכֹּֽנוּ׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 26 Make level [3]
the path of your feet; [2]
 
and let all of your ways be established. [1]
27 אַֽל־תֵּט־יָמִ֥ין וּשְׂמֹ֑אול [2] Etnachta
 
הָסֵ֖ר רַגְלְךָ֣ [2] VRevMug
מֵרָֽע׃ [1] Silluq

2 2 27 Do not turn to the right or left; [2]
 
turn aside your foot [2]
from evil. [1]
