2 I will open in a parable [3] my mouth; [2] from ancient times, [1] |

4 We will not hide (them) [4] from their children, [3] recounting [3] the praises of the LORD; [2] which he has done. [1] |
5 וַיָּ֤קֶם עֵד֨וּת ׀ [4] Azla Legarmeh בְּֽיַעֲקֹ֗ב [3] Revi'i שָׂ֤ם בְּיִשְׂרָ֫אֵ֥ל [2] Ole Veyored אֶת־אֲבוֹתֵ֑ינוּ [2] Etnachta לִבְנֵיהֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq |
5 For he established a covenant [4] in Jacob, [3] he appointed in Israel; [2] our fathers [2] to their children, [1] |
6 that they may know, [4] a generation to come, [3] children who will be born; [2] and they will recount to their children, [1] |
7 that they might set in God [3] their confidence; [2] the deeds of God, [2] but his commandments they will observe, [1] |
8 and they will not be [4] like their fathers, [3] stubborn and rebellious; [2] which not loyal was its heart, [2] its spirit. [1] |

10 They didn’t keep [3] the covenant of God; [2] they refused to walk. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
11 And they forgot his deeds; [2] which he had shown them. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
12 Before their fathers [3] he did wonders; [2] in the region of Zoan. [1] |
[2] Etnachta |
13 He split the sea [3] and he brought them through; [2] |
[1] Silluq |
14 And he led them by the cloud [3] by day; [2] by light of a fire. [1] |

15 He split open rocks [3] in the wilderness; [2] abundantly as out of the depths. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
16 And he brought out streams [3] from a rock; [2] water. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
17 But they still went on [3] to sin against him; [2] in the desert. [1] |
[2] Etnachta |
18 And they put God to the test in their heart; [2] |
[1] Silluq |
19 And they spoke [3] against God; [2] “Is God able [2] in the wilderness? [1] |
20 Behold, he struck a rock [4] and waters flowed out, [3] and torrents overflowed; [2] is he able to give, [2] for his people?” [1] |
21 Therefore [4] the LORD heard, [3] and he was angry; [2] it was kindled in Jacob, [2] it went up in Israel, [1] |
[1] Silluq |
22 because they didn’t trust [3] in God; [2] in his salvation. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
23 Yet he commanded clouds [3] from above; [2] he opened. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
24 And he rained down on them manna [3] to eat; [2] he gave to them. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
25 Bread of the angels [3] men ate; [2] in abundance. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
26 He caused to blow an east wind [3] in the heavens; [2] a south wind. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
27 And he rained down on them like dust, [3] meat; [2] winged birds. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
28 And he made them fall [3] in the middle of their camp; [2] their dwellings. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
29 So they ate and they were satisfied [3] exceedingly; [2] he brought to them. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
30 They didn’t turn from their cravings; [2] their food was in their mouths, [1] |
31 and the anger of God, [4] it went up against them, [3] some of their fattest; [2] he struck down. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
32 In all this [3] they still sinned; [2] in his wonders. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
33 So he consumed their days in futility; [2] in terror. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
34 When he killed them, then they sought him; [2] and they sought God earnestly. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
35 and they remembered [3] that God was their rock; [2] was their redeemer. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
36 But they flattered him with their mouth; [2] they lied to him. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
37 For their heart [3] was not right with him; [2] in his covenant. [1] |
38 But he being merciful, [4] he forgave iniquity, [3] and he didn’t destroy them; [2] turned back his anger, [2] all his wrath. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
39 And he remembered [3] that flesh were they; [2] and it doesn’t return. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
40 How often [3] they rebelled against him in the wilderness; [2] in the desert! [1] |
[1] Silluq |
41 And they turned again and they put to the test [3] God; [2] they provoked. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
42 They didn’t remember his hand; [2] when he redeemed them from the adversary, [1] |
[1] Silluq |
43 when he performed in Egypt [3] his signs; [2] in the region of Zoan, [1] |
[1] Silluq |
44 and he turned into blood [3] their canals; [2] they couldn't drink. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
45 He sent among them a swarm of flies, [3] and it devoured them; [2] and it ruined them. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
46 And he gave to the caterpillar [3] their produce; [2] to the locust. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
47 He destroyed with hail [3] their vines; [2] with a flood. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
48 And he gave over to hail [3] their cattle; [2] to lightning bolts. [1] |
[1] Silluq |
