1 וַֽיְהִי֙ [3] Pashta
בִּשְׁנַ֣ת אַרְבַּ֔ע [2] Zaqef
 
לְדָרְיָ֖וֶשׁ [2] Tip'cha
הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ [1] Etnachta
 
הָיָ֨ה דְבַר־יְהֹוָ֜ה [4] Geresh
אֶל־זְכַרְיָ֗ה [3] Revi'i
 
בְּאַרְבָּעָ֛ה [3] Tevir
לַחֹ֥דֶשׁ הַתְּשִׁעִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
 
בְּכִסְלֵֽו׃ [1] Silluq

the word of the LORD came [4]
to Zechariah [3]
 
on (day) four [3]
of the ninth month, [2]
 
in (the month of) Chislev. [1]
2 וַיִּשְׁלַח֙ [3] Pashta
בֵּֽית־אֵ֔ל [2] Zaqef
 
שַׂר־אֶ֕צֶר [2] ZaqefG
וְרֶ֥גֶם מֶ֖לֶךְ [2] Tip'cha
וַֽאֲנָשָׁ֑יו [1] Etnachta
 
לְחַלּ֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha
אֶת־פְּנֵ֥י יְהֹוָֽה׃ [1] Silluq

the face of the LORD, [1]

אֲשֶׁר֙ [3] Pashta
לְבֵית־יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת [2] Zaqef
 
וְאֶל־הַנְּבִיאִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
לֵאמֹ֑ר [1] Etnachta
 
הַֽאֶבְכֶּה֙ [3] Pashta
בַּחֹ֣דֶשׁ הַחֲמִשִׁ֔י [2] Zaqef
 
הִנָּזֵ֕ר [2] ZaqefG
כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשִׂ֔יתִי [2] Zaqef
זֶ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
כַּמֶּ֥ה שָׁנִֽים׃ [1] Silluq

“Should I weep [3]
in the fifth month, [2]
 
shall I consecrate myself, [2]
just as I have done [2]
these [2]
many years?” [1]

4 וַיְהִ֛י [3] Tevir
דְּבַר־יְהֹוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha
אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֹֽר׃ [1] Silluq
2 3 4 And it came, [3]
the word of the LORD of Hosts [2]
to me saying, [1]
5 אֱמֹר֙ [3] Pashta
אֶל־כׇּל־עַ֣ם הָאָ֔רֶץ [2] Zaqef
 
וְאֶל־הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים [2] Tip'cha
לֵאמֹ֑ר [1] Etnachta
 
כִּֽי־צַמְתֶּ֨ם וְסָפ֜וֹד [4] Geresh
בַּחֲמִישִׁ֣י וּבַשְּׁבִיעִ֗י [3] Revi'i
 
וְזֶה֙ [3] Pashta
שִׁבְעִ֣ים שָׁנָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
הֲצ֥וֹם צַמְתֻּ֖נִי [2] Tip'cha
אָֽנִי׃ [1] Silluq

and to the priests [2]
saying; [1]
 
‘When you fasted and you mourned [4]
in the fifth month and in the seventh month [3]
 
for these [3]
seventy years, [2]
 
was it really for me that you fasted - [2]
me? [1]
6 וְכִ֥י תֹאכְל֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
וְכִ֣י תִשְׁתּ֑וּ [1] Etnachta
 
הֲל֤וֹא אַתֶּם֙ [3] Pashta
הָאֹ֣כְלִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
וְאַתֶּ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
הַשֹּׁתִֽים׃ [1] Silluq

and when you drink; [1]
 
are you not [3]
the ones eating, [2]
 
and you [2]
the ones drinking? [1]
7 הֲל֣וֹא אֶת־הַדְּבָרִ֗ים [3] Revi'i
אֲשֶׁ֨ר קָרָ֤א יְהֹוָה֙ [3] Pashta
בְּיַד֙ [3] Pashta
הַנְּבִיאִ֣ים הָרִֽאשֹׁנִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
 
בִּהְי֤וֹת יְרוּשָׁלַ֙͏ִם֙ [3 3] Pashta
יֹשֶׁ֣בֶת וּשְׁלֵוָ֔ה [2] Zaqef
 
וְעָרֶ֖יהָ [2] Tip'cha
סְבִיבֹתֶ֑יהָ [1] Etnachta
 
וְהַנֶּ֥גֶב וְהַשְּׁפֵלָ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
יֹשֵֽׁב׃ [1] Silluq

when Jerusalem [3 3]
was inhabited and at ease, [2]

to Zechariah [2]
saying, [1]
9 כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֛ר [3] Tevir
יְהֹוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת [2] Tip'cha
לֵאמֹ֑ר [1] Etnachta
 
מִשְׁפַּ֤ט אֱמֶת֙ [3] Pashta
שְׁפֹ֔טוּ [2] Zaqef
 
וְחֶ֣סֶד וְרַֽחֲמִ֔ים [2] Zaqef
עֲשׂ֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
אִ֥ישׁ אֶת־אָחִֽיו׃ [1] Silluq

‘With faithful justice, [3]
judge, [2]
 
and kindness and compassion, [2]
show [2]
each one to his brother. [1]
10 וְאַלְמָנָ֧ה וְיָת֛וֹם [3] Tevir
גֵּ֥ר וְעָנִ֖י [2] Tip'cha
אַֽל־תַּעֲשֹׁ֑קוּ [1] Etnachta
 
וְרָעַת֙ [3] Pashta
אִ֣ישׁ אָחִ֔יו [2] Zaqef
 
אַֽל־תַּחְשְׁב֖וּ [2] Tip'cha
בִּלְבַבְכֶֽם׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 3 2 3 2 10 And the widow and the fatherless, [3]
the foreigner and the poor, [2]
do not oppress; [1]
 
and harm [3]
of each against his brother, [2]
 
do not devise [2]
in your heart.’ [1]
11 וַיְמָאֲנ֣וּ לְהַקְשִׁ֔יב [2] Zaqef
וַיִּתְּנ֥וּ כָתֵ֖ף [2] Tip'cha
סֹרָ֑רֶת [1] Etnachta
 
וְאׇזְנֵיהֶ֖ם [2] Tip'cha
הִכְבִּ֥ידוּ מִשְּׁמֽוֹעַ׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 2 11 But they refused to pay attention, [2]
and they gave a shoulder [2]
of stubbornness; [1]
 
and their ears [2]
they stopped from hearing. [1]
12 וְלִבָּ֞ם [4] Gershayim
שָׂ֣מוּ שָׁמִ֗יר [3] Revi'i
 
מִ֠שְּׁמ֠וֹעַ [4 4] TelishaG
אֶת־הַתּוֹרָ֤ה וְאֶת־הַדְּבָרִים֙ [3] Pashta
 
אֲשֶׁ֨ר שָׁלַ֜ח [4] Geresh
יְהֹוָ֤ה צְבָאוֹת֙ [3] Pashta
בְּרוּח֔וֹ [2] Zaqef
 
בְּיַ֖ד [2] Tip'cha
הַנְּבִיאִ֣ים הָרִֽאשֹׁנִ֑ים [1] Etnachta
 
וַֽיְהִי֙ [3] Pashta
קֶ֣צֶף גָּד֔וֹל [2] Zaqef
 
מֵאֵ֖ת [2] Tip'cha
יְהֹוָ֥ה צְבָאֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq

they made hard as flint, [3]
 
from hearing [4 4]
the law and the words [3]
 
which he had sent, [4]
the LORD of Hosts [3]
by his Spirit, [2]
 
by the hand [2]
of the former prophets; [1]
 
therefore it came, [3]
great wrath, [2]
 
from [2]
the LORD of Hosts. [1]
13 וַיְהִ֥י כַאֲשֶׁר־קָרָ֖א [2] Tip'cha
וְלֹ֣א שָׁמֵ֑עוּ [1] Etnachta
 
כֵּ֤ן יִקְרְאוּ֙ [3] Pashta
וְלֹ֣א אֶשְׁמָ֔ע [2] Zaqef
 
אָמַ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
יְהֹוָ֥ה צְבָאֽוֹת׃ [1] Silluq
1 2 2 3 2 13 And it came about that just as he called, [2]
and they would not listen; [1]
 
so they called, [3]
and I did not listen,” [2]
 
says he, [2]
the LORD of Hosts, [1]
14 וְאֵ֣סָעֲרֵ֗ם [3] Revi'i
עַ֤ל כׇּל־הַגּוֹיִם֙ [3] Pashta
אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֹֽא־יְדָע֔וּם [2] Zaqef
 
וְהָאָ֙רֶץ֙ [3 3] Pashta
נָשַׁ֣מָּה אַֽחֲרֵיהֶ֔ם [2] Zaqef
 
מֵֽעֹבֵ֖ר [2] Tip'cha
וּמִשָּׁ֑ב [1] Etnachta
 
וַיָּשִׂ֥ימוּ אֶֽרֶץ־חֶמְדָּ֖ה [2] Tip'cha
לְשַׁמָּֽה׃ [1] Silluq

to all the nations [3]
which they have not known, [2]
 
and the land, [3 3]
it was desolate behind them [2]
 
for one who would pass through [2]
or for one who would return; [1]
 
for they made a pleasant land [2]
into a waste.” [1]
