DefinitionShort: to desire to have or experience something

Glosses: ['to desire', 'to want', 'to wish']

Comments: As may be noted, in translating θέλησις, {L:θέλημα}[a] ({D:25.2}), {L:βούλημα}[a] ({D:25.4}), and {L:εὐδοκία}[b] ({D:25.8}), there is a tendency to employ verbs rather than nouns. This is true especially in languages outside the Indo-European family of languages. Wanting, desiring, and wishing are essentially psychological events or states and accordingly are most frequently expressed in languages by verbs.
