The Book of Isaiah 56

56Thus says Yahweh,

“Keep justice and do righteousness;

for my salvation is soon to come,

and my righteousness to be revealed.

2Blessed is the man who does this,

and the son of man who grasps it,

keeping the Sabbath, not defiling it,

and keeping his hand from doing any evil.”

3And let no son of a foreigner say,

who joins with Yahweh, saying,

“Yahweh will certainly exclude me from his people.”

and let not the eunuch say, “Behold, I am a dry tree.”

4For thus says Yahweh:

“To the eunuchs who observe my Sabbaths

and choose what pleases me,

and hold fast my covenant,

5and to them I will set up in my house and within my walls

a monument and a name

better than sons and daughters;

an everlasting name I shall give him

that will never be cut off.

6And sons of foreigners who join with Yahweh

to serve him,

and who love the name of Yahweh,

to be his servants,

all who keep the Sabbath, not defiling it,

and who hold fast my covenant—

7even them I shall bring to my holy mountain

and make them joyful in my house of prayer;

their burnt offerings and their sacrifices

will be welcome on my altar.

For my house will be called

a house of prayer for all nations”

8—the declaration of the Lord Yahweh, who gathers the outcasts of Israel—

“I shall still gather others for him besides the gathered.”

9All wild beasts of the field, come to devour,

all beasts in the forest!

10His watchmen are blind, all of them

they do not understand.

All of them are silent dogs, not able to bark.

They dream lying down, lovers of sleep.

11And the dogs are fierce in appetite;

they do not know satiation;

and they are shepherds

not knowing discernment;

all of them turned to their way,

each for his gain, without exception.

12“Come, let us take wine

and imbibe strong drink.

And tomorrow will be like this day,

exceedingly much greater.”
