ULT ISA Chapter 6

ISA 6 ©

6In the year of the death of King Uzziah, then I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and his hem filled the temple. 2The seraphim stood above him: six wings—six wings for each; with two covering its face and with two covering its feet, and with two it flew. 3And each one called to another and said,

“Holy, holy, holy, is Yahweh of hosts!

The whole earth is full of his glory.”

4And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of the one who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke.

5And I said,

“Woe to me! For I am doomed because I am a man of unclean lips,

and I live among a people of unclean lips,

because my eyes have seen the King, Yahweh of hosts!”

6And one of the seraphim flew to me, and in his hand was a hot coal he had taken with the tongs from off the altar. 7And he caused it to touch on my mouth and said,

“Behold, this has touched on your lips,

and your guilt has been taken away and your sin atoned for.”

8And I heard the voice of the Lord say, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?”

And I said, “Here I am, send me.”

9And he said, “Go and tell this people,

‘Listen closely, but do not understand,

and see clearly, but do not perceive.’

10Fatten the heart of this people,

and dull its ears and dim its eyes.

Otherwise it might see with its eyes

and hear with its ears

and understand with its heart,

and turn and be healed.”

11And I said, “Until when, Lord?”

And he said:

“Until cities are desolate,

without inhabitants,

and the houses are without people,

and the land is a desolate waste,

12and Yahweh has driven the people far away,

and the desertion in the midst of the land is great.

13If a tenth are still in it,

then it will turn back and be consumed.

As an elm or as an oak

which, in being cut down,

has a stump for it,

the holy seed is its stump.”
