Who to be afraid of

Luke 12:4–7

Mat 10:28–31

12:4 Who to be afraid of

(Mat. 10:28-31)

4And I’m telling you, my friends, that you shouldn’t be afraid of those who can kill your body (and after that they don’t have anything more that they can do). 5But I’ll tell you who you should be afraid of: Be afraid of the one who has the authority to throw you into hell after you’re dead—yes, that’s who you should be afraid of.

6Aren’t five small birds sold for just a couple of small coins? Yet not one of those birds is forgotten by God. 7Yes, God even knows the number of hairs on your head so don’t worry, each one of you is off more value than a whole flock of birds.

28Don’t be afraid of anyone who can kill your body but who can’t touch your soul, but rather work to please the one who can destroy both soul and body in fire. 29Aren’t two sparrows sold for almost nothing? Yet not one of them falls to the ground without your father being involved. 30For you all, even hair on your head has been counted, 31so don’t worry about things, because you are more valuable than any sparrows.
